Great video for me to see. I purchased a ‘23 AEV level 2 Rubicon 392 in March ‘24 and started having TC issues at 6,500 miles. The 4WD MIL service light has appeared 3 times now. There is a new TSB 08-162-24 out for ‘21-‘23 392’s to address the C-140E-00 DTC which is what mine is showing. I’m going to the dealer on 8/7/24 for the TSB reprogramming but if that doesn’t work, I should be getting a new motor actuator which I’ve heard is the weak link of the TC. The 392 has been going into 4WD usually after a drive and I shift from Park to Drive.
Bought a month ago a new 2023 392- I live in Dubai - UAE and use the car dune bashing in the desert at ambient temps of over 40c! As low still on mileage ( 5k klms) I am not pushing it much (2-4K RPMs mostly) yet Oil temp climbs fast to 120 -130 C! Never had that with my previous 3.6 Rubi. As a result of the excessive heat had Power Steering overheating warning and service 4WD warning with 4WD seemingly locked despite switching out of High and back into auto! I was disappointed at such warning and behaviour as well as steering becoming stiff when hot. I run it on 35”s ( stock was 33’s ) and have it on teraflex 3.5” lift kit with adjustable Falcons SP2 3.3. In town oil temp hovers around 107-110 - when cruising easy on highway @ 120 Klm and 3,000 rpm - oil climbs again to 120c ! Dealer checked it over for couple days and said is normal and go on without worry.
Helpful video. Thank you. I have a 23 Wrangler 392. At 3500 miles, the SERV 4WD light came on. I checked the fuses and the error light went off temporarily but came back on once for the next 20 miles or so. Vehicle is so new I’ve barely done any trails yet so it hasn’t been abused in any way. The dealer has the 392 now and says I need a new transfer case. No explanation as to why. There seems to be a lot of stories about transfer case issues with the 392 - frustrating.
When switching gears inside do it slowly. My 2021 was doing the same thing at first. Ever since shifting it from park to drive ect. Slowly never had any more issues like that again.
my 392xr on 37x13.5r17 has had no issues beating it super hard. I did change the tire size in the tazer. Also check your fluid level on the transfer case they all seem to be a little low. Also a rubicon transfer case the 4:1 is pretty cheap and really easy to swap in or atlas, thats my next step after my warranty is out. Love my 392 an absolute weapon!
You’re a bit ahead of me lol. But yes that’s the plan. If RU-vid was my full time job and I had a bigger budget I’d be cranking videos out and traveling. I just got a job at the dealership, so hopefully I can meld the two activities together.
Love your video edit, plugs 🤣 hilarious. Favorites were BillyBob.. "No Gas In It". And the Major League commentator, "Oh shit". Great funny, very informative video. Loved it.
Jeep's are known for being one of the most highly (consumer) modified vehicles. Why wouldn't they put provisions in there to be able to mod something as simple as your tire size?
Stelantis is trying to make themselves more relevant and discouraging modifications in many ways. Here, please buy our extreme recon package what more will you want?
At the moment we had already tried to do the 2wd trick with the tazer and it wouldn’t let the clutch packs go. Turning off the DTCM was the only thing that worked to get the Jeep home. I don’t encourage anyone to drive full time like that. But if the transfer case issue happens it is one way to get home.
No, this is more of a how do you get home or something for an emergency situation. It will unbind the 4wd system. But not fix the transfer case. I do believe that it would prevent wear and tear that may have led to the failure. But we’re doing our best to research the issues and find a true solution to the problem.
It’s definitely cost me way more than I expected and due to the drivetrain woes it has caused me to sideline the channel more than once. If I could get my two door back I would.
Dear sir I saw your RU-vid channel and understand you are a RU-vidr. Very nice video on your channel, I really enjoyed it. Total 1.15k+ subscribers and a Total of 61+ Uploaded videos of your channel. According to your channel, I noticed that your channel videos are not viewed and subscribed. You need to optimize your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will get viral views. If your channel is optimized a little and if the videos are SEO then your channel will rank very fast and your channel will grow. And monetization of your channel will be on.
If you drive around in two wheel drive this problem should not occur. It’s essentially due to excessive heat and premature wear by the clutch packs. A service of the transfer case and clearing the codes and I haven’t seen anything return since. Fingers crossed.
@@therubiconian392 yeah I had the “service 4wheel drive system” light come on when I didn’t have a my tazer yet but I was also mudding with 38s on low psi and going up hills. Really being rough on it. Since then I’ve never got that code again. But I also drive only in 2WD now just to prevent wear on the clutch packs. I don’t know if people fully understand when to use 4auto, 4Hi and 4Lo and as a result they put to much stain on the drivetrain. It seems to me like people are always going way to slow in 4Hi or way to fast in 4Lo or just bogging out 4auto but idk
@@therubiconian392 I agree it’s to new and different for people to get used to. Unless your a seasoned wheeler its hard for people to know what gear in the t case they should be in
