When you weld the sheet metal try leaving an inch or so between the tacks and do a pass then come back and do a second pass, keep doing that till theres no space between tacks, basically it allows the heat to dissipate so you dont overheat one area by welding right next to the last weld thats still hot
PVA - Process Value Analysis - is the examination of a process to determine if it can be streamlined to increase efficiency or reduce costs. You rock good sir!.. you are inspirational.
You should look into stitch welding. That warped due to the heat build up. Start with a few tacks and work around the piece to get less heat build up. You can use your air compressor to blow heat off while working in between stitches.
PVA 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 love this channel m8. One of the most realistic car build channels on you tube. You give us guys a proper and realistic insight into what it takes to build cars at home. Yes I do watch other channels but your channel is built on what most of our guys realistic budget would be for the at home car builder👍
PVA! In the future to help keep the metal from warping, have your air hose with a blower on it at hand. Weld about 1/2"-1" and hit it with some air to cool it down. Also alternating sides to let it cool even more is good practice as well. Good job bud!
the fatsun, built by some guy in an old shed, kinda bodged here and there, material arches.... first prize! (and btw i know the material is just for pulling parts...)
@@bartlettsplayroblox1753 unfortunately this comment is 100% accurate. I love this channel and been subbed since he got hacked and had to restart his channel so a long time sub and as much as I love the channel his work is sub par but I've always just figured he is learning and we all start out doing half ass work when we first started but get better as we learn so I'm gonna keep watching and see his work grow with him.
Oh to add to this believe it or not that's also how long he's been building the fatsun because a search for Datsun builds is what brought me to his channel and that was 1/23/2020 and the fatsun has not had alot of progress mostly due to COVID and having to build it separately from the rest of his builds up til now. I am team Fatsun all the way I absolutely love Datsun pickups they were my first 2 vehicles I owned a 1973 and a 75 way back in 1990 through 1995 and they were awesome, I keep an eye out all the time for good deals on them but I'm from northern California (Sacramento) and I never see good deals on Datsun pickups bummer any way that's all I have to say on the matter, peace out!!
Still no new Fatsun videos ugh, he must not get very many views on the videos because at this rate it's going to take him 10 years to finish the fatsun I believe it's already been 3+ years not positive but I know for sure we'll over 2 years
@@timwegman5776 my original comment wasnt a dig, it was just facts, the work he has done on the fatsun is going to be for pulling parts, he has already said that previously. I've been subbed since very early, watched some of the MR2 wide body build. yes some is half arsed and kinda bodged up here and there but he is a guy doing just what he wants, he gets built what he wants to build and enjoys doing it all the way through. and on the plus side, i watch every video and every advert that is on his videos :) gotta help a brother out somehow :)
Hey mate, writing from Australia. Maybe using the bolts for the hinges in an aeronautical style? Low profile, Allen key fit. But for a farm shed type build and your need for more workshop gear you are doing a great job.keep it up. I also have a 620 King Cab here and am watching to see what I can do with mine!
PVA is the way great work love that your learning by doing it that's the only way for me I have to do stuff to figure out the right and wrong way to finish things great work bro
Just throwing this out there but if you use a linear actuator on the rear wing you can make it raise when you're hitting your brakes and lower when you're hitting the accelerator and something I use when I'm welding to make it a little easier on the welder I use 030 instead of 035.030 is a little thinner so it helps the welder Burns faster so you melt what you need to faster without spreading a bunch of heat into the rest of the metal and maybe consider riveting the wing onto the truck instead of the bolts might look a little cleaner pVa
Ben waiting a long time for this truck to be done came a long ways with it.. ben watching you since the mr2 days, watched you use alot of pva in your days..
PVA the word of the day. Ideally you want to sandblast all welds before applying filler or paint. The Welding process actually encourages rust growth. Also you want to use fiber reinforced filler over all welds. I don't mean to be a critic at all. As a DIY builder , these are things I just learned recently from a career body man. Which means I also have some paint stripping and sandblasting to do on my project. Keep up the great work , if this stuff was easy everyone would do it. I love the channel 🤙
Great idea for the spoiler. You should make some fresh pieces & take it to a metal shop & get them to put some bead rolls in it to make it much stronger as it won’t be very strong at the moment
You made a simple job so difficult! Just use 5 or 6mm aluminium and cut out your shape for this. Change the liner in your MIG for a Teflon one, get a spool of aluminium wire and 100% argon and it welds just like steel. Just make sure it's really clean. I usually grind the hell out of it before I weld to get to fresh aluminium. If you're scared of aluminium, use 3 or 4mm steel. Weight won't be an issue since its not a race car.
Imagine watching a RU-vidr grow from 1347 subscribers to knowing he will be one of the most successful car content creator on this platform Good on you bro it’s a real moment for a subscriber that’s been here since the start Never stop 🤙🏼🤙🏼
What a legend man! I was just telling someone the other day (who had 2k subs) that there were people still watching my videos that were here in the beginning. Its so humbling for real! Thanks so much for being here for the journey!
hopefully you turn those nuts the other way and use countersunk heads in the spoiler :) also, when you were spot welding the beginning of the spoiler. the reason for that is to not put too much heat into the metal. usually you spot a bit here and then a bit over there. you just did dot, dot, dot, dot one after the next. The heat still builds up. just for future reference :)
I'm not getting notified about your videos I have to search for them. Great work keep it up and don't burn yourself out and make yourself depressed like some other RU-vidrs. ✌🏻🏴 PVA
I have been doing a little bit of body work on my Nissan 720 from what I have learn watching you're videos and it by far is not the best but it isn't horrible. By the way PVA!
Thank you for doing a collaboration with rennch. I saw his video you helped him with and I was like wtf?? So I’ve subbed to him and watching his blasphemy build.
