THE FEAR OF PUBLIC SPEAKING - I HATE MY ACCENT / I can't count the times someone has told me they hate their accent. In this video I explain why, and how, you need to get rid of those unhelpful thoughts. I talk you through the process on accepting how you sound, and using it to your advantage.
We are all unique, and that's a wonderful thing!
If you have any worries, or concerns, that you feel are holding you back from being a great public speaker, let me know and I'll film a therapy session on that topic.

Stumbled upon this in a spiral of "i hate my accent" searches. It's a really nice and reassuring video, thank you for making it! I'm not really a presenter but I'm from norway, but i've been living in the UK for the last 12 years of my life, and I still sound as "fresh off the boat" as I did back then, and it's making me incredibly self consious when I'm talking to people, I feel people slow down when talking to me, i get asked questions like "when did you get here?" and similar all the time, and even though I know they're not trying to be rude by saying it, it makes me feel really bad for not having been able to "fit in" so to speak. I still feel like such an outsider despie having lived here for almost half my life now.

Thank you so much for watching :). In my experience, this is the most common concern expressed by those I've worked with. My advice is always to try not to focus on others, and instead be proud of the authentic you. It's your voice, your heritage, your culture and your country that you represent whenever you stand up to speak. So be proud of all of it, and never apologise for your accent :)
