Pro Tip: Supply and Provisioning Missions give enough XP for one or two Levels, and are always Level-Appropriate. As long as you turn in HQ Items only.
If there was a race war in FFXIV, we all know who the real victors would be: Six monks. Turns out they're all male roes and have the most immaculate "Captain Planet and the Planeteers" glam you have ever seen.
It appears obvious: the Elezen's neck, which can grow to as much as two metres in length, has been selected by evolution because it gives its owner exclusive access to the topmost leaves of the trees, and no other animal can reach them. This, then, is an adaptation designed to avoid competition for food with other animals.
Additionally, would the Elezen find themselves in a crowded place. They are the best equipped to find a suitable spot to wander to and the best route to take to said spot. When compared to shorter races, such as the walking popotos, who are trapped in a large crowd with no way of orienting themselves the height of the Elezen is a magnificent evolutionary asset.
True at least I don't feel along knowing that someone in a comment 1 month old play the same race as me. The player base don't know that female Roe have one of the best starter clothes in the game specially the chest and the arms(who I end up using more than the chest in the PLD set...who would have thought). I have been able to slap those part on so many sets fitting extremely well on them.
At least I TRIED to make my female Au Ra look scary, but of course this is completely negated by the fact that she's so short at maximum height that Y'shtola is a full head taller.
This is why you go maximum tiny and just barely tower over the taller lalafels. People mistake you for a lalafel from a distance and are terrified of you.
Same, I tried making my fem au ra intimidating at the start of the game, but ended up being 4'10. I keep her that way because I find it entertaining and don't see a lot of other unnatural-looking fem ra.
You just can’t make female Au Ra look intimating. Best you can is min height, hope people mistake you for a lala, and use the power of “tiny girl is a super strong tank” cliche.
I tried a max height female Au Ra, discovered how goddamn smol she was, and then when I got the Fantasia potion I just decided to lean into it and go with minimum height instead. She is now extra smol.
“Serious” male roe player here, in the last few years I have only seen maybe 3 or 4 male roe that aren’t wearing a mascot head, or a leather daddy glam. Almost 100% of the time they’re in huge tank armor.

tbh yugiri being a miqo'te in ARR with an au ra tail is kind of genius, especially because they ended up sharing animation sets, just minus the ear movements. wonder if the endwalker ARR changes are going to include backend fixes to properly set yugiri as an au ra. edit: apparently in some animations *her horns move* according to the game’s TCRF page so it seems ear animations weren’t totally disabled in her ARR appearances.
@@kaffka4753 before they had finished the Au Ra model (Cuz this was before the launch of Au Ra), they used the Miqote model but modded the Au ra tail skin over a miqote tail.
@@kaffka4753 internally yes. in character, she’s still a lizard lady, but to the game when she has that hood on, she’s a cat girl with a weird scaley tail. saves data and dev time until they had more time on their hands with HW’s dev cycle
Her explanation on hiding her appearance is amazingly consistent lore wise too... She said it's because people might become fearful of her or some sh, since Eorzeans are likely to have not seen an Au Ra before. Well DRK msq guy is an Au Ra in Ishgard and guess what lead him to the dark path...
As a lalafell I do wanna point out that there does exist a sub section of us that are healers/supports that will help you and protect you . . . . Just to sacrifice you to our true lord and saviour the blood lily.
Elezen, on paper, should be the best. They're basically Viera but with all the hats and hairstyles. Then, for some reason, SE decided that they would use a literal puppet made of cardboard for the mocap of their animations. Couldn't stand it for more than two days before having to shell out for another fantasia :(

This but unironically. I fantasia’d to a Hrothgar so I could cosplay Battle Beast from Invincible. Also I always play monstrous races in MMOs and they were the only race that weren’t another flavour of human.
I race changed the day I saw this femroe glamoured as a tan Wonder Woman standing in Limsa. Even after everyone went crazy for the rabbits, I felt no temptation because you can't improve on perfection.
From the very start i was a Femroe, but after getting phantasia at the end of arr i morphed from sea wolf to hellsguard. Something about those deer noses, man, just something
@@yanicuze8820 I really love the Male Au Ra look, I suggest not getting rid of it but make it adjustable so everyone can have them to their own taste. I have no problems because I value the uniqueness in all the races of the game so let people have more options instead

Yeah, I overall love my M Au Ra, but the hips have always bugged me and made certain outfits look really weird on him. Not nearly as bad as Elezen necks, but still rather strange looking and probably the only feature about him that I’m not a fan of.
Can confirm playing male Roe for purely memes sake. The first time I ever played FF14, my older brother introduced me. Since it was a subscription based game and I was an 18 year old who just lost her job to a pandemic, I knew I'd probably only play for a month. I decided to make a meme character: a male Roe. My brother told me I could be a botanist and that is when Garde Ner was born. Garde Ner: completely green male Roe, summoner because he loves animals, his weapon is an anthology of Edgar Allen Roe, and the first thing I could do when free was head straight to Gridania to become a botanist. It was a good month. I finally got a job and a few months ago decided picked up the game again as a basic bitch female Au Ra, but I will never forget you Garde Ner.
As a Fem Highlander, I take great personal offence to being lumped into the vanilla Hyur category. Second best mommy milkies in the game?, no?, thigh crushage ratio still at an acceptably high level?, no?

@@valouKitty I have a picture at the end of a praetorium run, 2 duskwights, one normal elezen and me as a lala. I sat down and they sat around me for a picture. was awesome seeing so many elezen at once in a random roulette.
As a Hyur player I can confirm that the variety of options was a bit overwhelming and decided to keep things simple. Legit surprised they got that high up on the ranking.
As a viera player, yeah this is completely accurate. I love my bun to death but I could never in good conscience say viera is a great race because of all the limits

FFXIV has answers to your choice of waifu. If you want the onee-san type, you go with Viera. If you want the tomboyish type, you go with Mi'qote. If you want the cute type, you go with Aura. If you want the gentle type, you go with Hyur. If you want the cool type, you go with Elezen. If you want the MILF type, you go with Roegadyn. NO LALAFELL YOU SICKFUCK WHAT WERE YOU THINKING
The only thing that bothers me about this tier list is you didn't separate mid and highlanders, if you did you might had to add a tier for Thighlanders, the Femroe Lite.
I'm glad others know that playing the Literally Just Human (TM) race in FFXIV is still FAR less basic than picking a catgirl/dragon girl I would've actually fantasia'd to a Viera if it weren't for the fact *they can't wear hats* With that being said Thighlander for L I F E
When i first started playing this game before stormblood came out I picked lala because I liked the smaller character model. After learning how demonized my race is stereotyped as, I refuse to fantasia because now I just embrace the meme. We caused npcs to not be able to interact with the warrior of light due to our small models, but cutscenes are 100 times better as a lala. Its really hilarious having npcs praise how you're a mighty eikon slayer when they can punt you like a football if they felt like it.
Don't act like the WoL isn't capable of killing every single character in the story single-handedly. And by single-handedly, I mean inviting a team of 8 WoL's into an instanced area where they can repeatedly attempt the fight while using statistically optimal penta-melded gear and tinctures over the course of hundreds of deaths and eventually succeeding. It's actually rather astonishingly how little the game acknowledges your team-mate's existence. It almost exclusively treats every encounter as if the WoL solo'd the encounter, despite having a team of 4, 8, or 24 WoL's.
@@Mathignihilcehk I like when the game acknowledges the fact you aren't soloing things by having the NPC's say something like "let me know when you and your adventurer buddies are ready to go".

I also play Elezen.. i mean atm. So far I find their general appearance in cutscenes to be more elegant and in a way more powerful, stronger than my main which is a Miqo'te. Even with ''badass, serious'' armor she retains an air of playfulness.. I think it's the ears and the bone structure of their face are more ''cutely'' than that of Elezen. (Possible) Spoilers: The best example I can give is the cutscene where your character had just returned to Ishgard on Hraesvelgr's back and walks toward Nidhogg while all the npc's are running the opposite. To me, that scene looked so much more powerful on my Elezen than it did on my Miqo'te.
The necks are fine to me. I think its how long our elezen legs are that can ruin some glams for them. I always would goan at how some glams i tried making up would look better on catgirls or au ra girls than on my elezen. Yet i always managed to make some that do look good on my elezen, thou it still sting it would always look better on the other female races. I WANT ELEZEN SUPREMACY

honestly never understood the desire to play as a human in any fantasy setting, to me it's the most basic bitch vanilla thing to do, and it's why i loved dragon age origins, since you could choose what race you wanted (for the most part)
As an Alezan main, I have to agree on how offputing the neck is... at first. But you end up getting over it pretty fast, especially when your fear starts to get more and more convoluted with giant shoulder-pads and neck ornaments..

I made a Elezen because I came over from Warcraft and I mained a blood elf. This was the closest I could get (better version if you ask me) so I'd completely disagree with that take sir.
I honestly went with catboy cause I considered their animations the better ones. The only downside is their claw hands, but thankfully we can change the posture. Their body shape is also better, gear tends to look the coolest on catboys.
All I care about is that you put femroes on top, where they belong. Hellguard femroes in particular have a big Breath of the Wild gerudo vibe which I'm all about. Seriously tho it's the only female model that isn't dainty with matchstick arms! I love how you can easily rock huge armor and be that big badass gal, but you can also be cute :) Being twice the size of the Leveilleur twins is also a big plus, cuz it looks like I'm the Scion's babysitter in cutscenes aha
Ah you got me with that one. Might fantasa over to FemRoe now, I always feel like i'm babysitting those two when i do MSQ as WHM. Just gotta get a good look...

Max height femroe is legit taller than everybody in the MSQ (except maybe Gosetsu?) and I feel like it really suits the WoL vibe - this larger-than-life figure, this living legend being quietly supportive of everyone and getting shit done. Forgot to mention that towering over the big baddies in cutscenes is also a plus.
@@curio_sphere Only problem, FemRoes don't really have butts/hips like au ra do. I don't get a very well pronounced hourglass bottom in spellcaster robes with them.
@@archmagemc3561 I guess that's fair, they aren't that well cut for most robes, but I'm sure you can find something nice on FFXIV Armoury. The lvl80 WHM robe (with the jacket top thing) I find suits my femroe super well! And look at Queen Gunnhildr from the Bozjan Southern Front, as far a beautiful femroes in robes she's out there :O
Yeah, my brother-in-law told me the same thing about Viera, jokes on him, when I played WoW I literally always had my headgear hidden. That being said, it's hard not to fantasia to Femroe.
I'm a new player kinda, recently i did /pose with the chief bunny outfit on my Femroe character to meme with my friends since i had som mgp and getting the regalía Is Easy, anyway as i was showing and memeing with my character i noticed there were like 15 other people just there watching how i did random shit in the bunny outfit as a Femroe Lmao, that was hilarious as hell when we noticed

I may never be skinny enough to be a Viera, but I can at least pump iron and crush people's skulls between the afflatus misery that are my thighs as a fem Roe. Roegadyn are the beauty standard now.
This is like only video about FFXIV races I've seen, which does not use "femroes dont exist" -joke, which is nice. I fantasia'd from male au ra to femroe about a month ago. I fully admit reasons were: Merlwyb, amazon queen/mommy look and overall having a thing for femroe aesthetic. I want Merlwyb as Trust, goddamnit.
As a Lalafell player i can confirm that every Lalafell is either an innocent and cute cinnamon roll or evil to the point it makes Ascians take a step back and go "What the F". Also the second category is by far the larger one.
lalafell warrior here, i can confirm that the evil demon lalafells are common, as my desire to cleave everything in two legit made me need to new game plus the story sense i skipped it the first time around, so i could get back to cleaving everything

I may be a dude playing a fem roegadyn, but my character is a paladin queen, soon to be dark knight queen. And I love her. She is basically the opposite of me, she's tall, multi-talented, loved by many, and deserves all loves and kisses.
