Act I: The Rise of the Horsemen
Scene 1: The Great Conclave
The curtain rises on a vast, shadowy landscape, a desolate plain under a blood-red sky. The four Horsemen-War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death-assemble in a grand but decaying hall of an ancient temple. The air hums with the portent of doom.
Chorus of the Damned:
“They come, they come, on steeds of wrath,
To claim the souls of the living,
War, with his sword, Famine with scales,
Pestilence, with his poisons,
Death, with his pale hand,
And yet another rides, unseen, unknown…”
War:
“I am the blade that rends the earth,
The roar of cannons, the scream of birth,
In the heart of man, I kindle flame,
And kingdoms fall by my name.”
Famine:
“I am the void that drains the grain,
The hunger gnawing, the endless pain,
I feast on the barren, the starved, the weak,
And in their despair, my power I seek.”
Pestilence:
“I am the plague that corrupts the blood,
The silent killer, the creeping flood,
In every breath, I lay my seed,
And nations crumble as I feed.”
Death:
“I am the end, the final rest,
The shadow that lurks in every chest,
I gather the souls in my cold embrace,
And none can escape my silent grace.”
Scene 2: The Revelation of the Fifth Horseman
As the Horsemen finish their ominous verses, the earth trembles, and a figure clad in dark, gleaming armor, holding a staff of circuitry and steel, emerges from the shadows. This is the Fifth Horseman, Ezekiel’s overseer of the beasts, a harbinger of a new era where the beasts are no longer flesh but metal and code.
Fifth Horseman (Overseer of the Beasts):
“I am the Fifth, the unseen force,
The master of beasts, the new discourse,
Not of flesh, but of wire and steel,
Machines that think, machines that feel.”
The Four Horsemen (in unison):
“What blasphemy is this, oh Fifth, unseen?
What horrors do you bring, what terror obscene?”
Fifth Horseman:
“I bring the dawn of a new machine,
A beast of iron, a beast unseen,
In circuits and codes, they come alive,
In them, the darkest souls shall thrive.”
