Holyfield took a break from training after his loss to James Lights Out Toney and will not have been in a fight for over a year when he enters the ring on Nov. 13 2004. against Larry Donald. #evanderholyfield #larrydonald #boxing
Fact, Holyfield was suspended by the NYSAC after this fight because he only threw 250 total punches in the fight, about 20 punches per round. Now just a few months ago, Deontay Wilder threw barely 200 punches in a 12 round fight against Parker, and he wasn't suspended. He looked even more shot than Holyfield looked here.
Holyfield was old and washed up at this point. He is lucky Donald was feather fisted because he would have suffered a KO loss against any top heavyweight with power at this stage of his career.
well, you "had me at" humiliated! (LOL) I know personal trainers in bodybuilding world that were close friends w Lee Haney and Fred Hatfield, who designed the initial and very successful Steroid, HGH, and body build program that "created" Evander the Roid Deal Holyfield from being a very very good light heavy to a totally roided to the gills cheater that he became. Only a sport as dirty as boxing could maintain a career as totally supported by illegal peds as Evan fields. in addition to his extensive usage of elbowing and head butts, his fake Christian stance became very hard to stomach over the years of his blatant cheating. people like his "warrior spirit", and he deserves some credit for that, but it's easy to persevere when you are roided up and know you have an illegal advantage on your opponent. Poetic justice that the equally roiding cheat James Toney, who simply stole the advantage of roids without doing the weight training, so he looked fat. beat Evan Fields pillar to post.
Bc he fought murderers row of the 80s and 90s. Cruiserweight and heavyweight. And beat legends. His record prior to the age of 40 was 38-5. Prior to 35 yrs of age 36-3 losing only to riddick bowe twice ( massively smaller and beat him once and have him hell twice and michael moorer. His record is second to none as far as hard fights. Thats my take. Maybe Ali.
@@johnderfler5183 exactly! - you left out "a borderline shot, past prime, post 3 years lost in prison, half hearted Tyson who had ditched ALL the high intensity training that allowed the head movement, speed, combination punching from hell, and ENDURANCE" Un Holy Evan fields himself admitted that the only boxer he ever knew that trained harder than him, back in their early days.. was Tyson. He beat a shell,
