The Fighting 69th in the 2013 NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade 

It's not an Irish setter, the mascotte is an Irish Wolfhound.

The Fighting 69th, aka 'the Irish Brigade ' fought so bravely in the Civil War. They fought at Fredericksburg and Antietam, possibly other battles too. They carried an emerald green battle flag and traveled with their own priest. The priest would absolve them as they went into battle. The Bloody Lane at Antietam has an incredible monument to the Irish Brigade . The monument lists the divisions that made up the Irish Brigade back then. Magnificent valor from my countrymen.

Remember it is not a ginger dog it is a wolf hound, also you dont wish to meet it in a dark alley too.

Sam D they may not look like much on parade but they are the ones' who, historically, fight and win Americas wars, Typically our reserve troops can't march worth a damn but they can fight like hell!

for the record the bagpiper that leads thee fighting 69th is Joe Brady Jr.

Watching the st Patric,k day parade there is no other in the states. Being a Scot who’s people have been and done the World over in the love off the land we left behind we must rate as what we gave to the world was science and technology and brains. Best wishes.
