The best? Not in this case. South African politics and racism resulted in stupid late Bok replacements, determined by race, and handed the ABs this victory. Had it not been for those replacements the Boks would have won. Seldom had I seen such stupidity.

If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I don't think I would have believed it. ABs just out-muscle the Boks 5m out from the try line. And that kick form Mo'unga! Incredible. Another great escape from the Houdini's of Rugby.
I would say greatest sporting side of all time. They have been in a league of their own for a decade amongst some truly top class rugby sides. The consistency with being so elite is what does it for me.

Yep one of the best games ever. We'll be back in 2023 for the RWC again and hopefully on top of the world. Mad respect to the Bokkas - formidable opponents, worthy RWC champs 2019
All Black's are 80 minutes, no less, otherwise your going to be disappointed indeed. All Black's only remember the games they lose, not the games they win, but they'll remember this one.
Well, that was one to savour from a NZ perspective. Of course, the Bokke got the last laugh when they hoisted the World Cup a year later. Looking forward to the next clash of these titans.
Hardly the "last laugh". If they managed to meet in the finals it would've been good. however, the all blacks did beat them at the world cup. One off game against England ruined it for NZ.

The South African No 11 should have been given a yellow card for a deliberate knocked down when the AB had to players outside. South Africa should have been playing with 14 men for the last 9 minutes. Wake up ref and learn how to ref by reading the rule book.
What a game. This one still stings; though it was a good lesson in game management for the Boks. The replacements @ the end were simply not enough from an South African perspective. Perhaps this contributed to Rassie's decision to go with 7-2 split @ RWC.
The reserves bench is there to be used. And i think the commentator even mentioned that Faf de Klerk had already played all the available minutes in the past few games. Erasmus must have surely thought the game was in the bag by that point too. I remember that the ABs basically had nothing going for them for most of the night. Just that last 8 minutes or so when they actually strung something together.
