Same with me. But i bought the first game 2 years ago and i finish the first game story mode under a day but the second game plus the dlc like 1 or 2 weeks.
Even though it’s just moving from one game to the other, leaving splatoon 2 just feels really sad for some reason and I don’t remember feeling like this for splatoon 1. Despite everything this game really did do a lot. Octo expansion is still my favorite thing this game ever did. It’s aesthetic and story really hits different for me and it feels like a different game entirely because of that. All the other goodbye videos didn’t really give me the closure this one did with it’s in-depth lookback. I don’t wanna sound too sappy with this comment but I really appreciate it.
Splatoon 2 was how I got into the fandom in the first place. It’s gonna have a special place in my heart. I’m very excited to see where Splatoon 3 will lead us. You know, I want to say my goodbyes to Splatoon 2 here. This game is amazing. It was the second game I got on my Switch, I got interested because I loved the music and I wanted I game I could play A LOT since I couldn't afford to get a bunch of games initially. Fun fact, this game helped me a lot with my own sense of style. It helped me understand my gender identity. And I spent so many hours having fun playing turf war, or salmon run, and discovering how fun it is to use a dynamo roller. Goodbye Splatoon 2, you were awesome !
honestly its probably more personal for them, sometimes things just happen, like undertale honestly helped me figure out my gender identity but that was because it was a personal journey for me, sometimes things just work out, even if it doesn't feel like it'd happen that way!

Splatoon 2 was literally the most hype thing for me when it was first announced And now I’m here waiting for day one release of splatoon 3. For the last month I’ve been playing splatoon 2 a lot Becouse of the trailers. Before that I had stopped playing about a year after splatoon 2 released. I just reached A+ rank and I regret that I ever stopped playing splatoon 2. I love this game and hope that we will all have a blast in splatoon 3

this game was awesome! i think it did more for the series than people realize, with all the additions you mentioned. i'm writing this October 3, 2023 after Splatoon 3's 1 year anniversary.
Splatoon 1 and 2 was my childhood,now i am more hyped then ever for the 3rd adition for the game series. So glad my cousin introduced me to this game way back in 2016.
This is a really sweet concept for a video and it comes from a place of maturity and kindness not often associated with pro shooter players. Thanks for making this. I've always loved the concept of splatoon but never quite gotten into the gameplay much, but I'm planning on changing that with splatoon 3 and the profreshional play is actually a big part of why. I don't think I'll ever be able to go that route myself (age, and more importantly latency essentially renders high level play impossible for me), but I'm gonna try and take a much bigger part in this community going forward. I've been having a blast watching the last couple of splatoon 2 championships and I look forward to seeing what you do in splatoon 3. I need a team to support, and it may as well be yours.
i started playing in 2015 when the 1st came out, i dont remember much but i do remember a splatfest or two. I was so excited when i heard about splatoon 2 but i had no switch at the time, so i waited months to get it for christmas i got the splatoon 2 switch too! I was so excited to play (I loved hero mode) i finished hero mode a few months after. I heard about splatoon 3 in about april 2021, i was freaking out. I was there for the return on the mammalians direct, then i was on vacation and i found out the release date. I was so sad, IT WAS 5 MONTHS AWAY. I waited and waited, then the world premiere splatfest came out! I was so happy and played the entire day and i also preordered the game. Here we are now, excited af playing splatoon 2 until it's time.
My favourite thing about splatoon is how it got nintendo to try to support esports even if they dont know what they are doing too well. And just to make you feel old, when splatoon 1 came out i was 9 years old. Im 17 now. And between splatoon 2's and 3's release, i learned a new language. Yeah. Its been that long.
im definitely getting quite emotional. i remember waiting MONTHS for splatoon 2 to release and watching trailers over and over again. i remember going to my local store and picking up the game for the first time. ill definitely miss it, but im excited to move on.
One of the things I have been most exited for about Splatoon 3's release is there being videos such as "playing Splatoon 2 in [insert year here]" I loved watching those videos for Splatoon 1 to see how it has aged and hopefully videos like that appear for Splatoon 2.
I've actually been binging Splatoon 2 for the last week as a sort of grand sendoff. Played an egregious amount of Salmon Run on Sunday which is my favorite thing and finally got around to beating the Octo expansion earlier this week since its in the NSO Expansion Pack now (for anyone who didn't know that, grab it and play it... totally worth the time!). I didn't really get the chance to give Splatoon 1 a proper sendoff because my WiiU died so I'm glad to at least be part of the end of Splatoon 2.
I hate that people are saying goodbye to this game... i really hope it still lives on, since splatoon 2 is my first splatoon game, and i feel so depressed saying "goodbye"
Splatoon 2 deserves to be remembered more favourable than people say so. This game has brought me through some major transitional times in life (came out early into my high school years, now 3 is coming out right before I go to university). This and another important game from 2020 kickstarted my passion for art which I still do to this day, alongside basically kickstarting my time meeting so many through passion for the series. Even if its late life staggered with worse balance, it wasn’t all for nothing, as I will never forget the amount of love I have for this stupid game about squids and now octopi. Thank you Splatoon 2 for everything, and maybe I'll come back to you again someday.

i dont normally comment on videos but splatoon 2 was truly one of the most magical and amazing games out there. no other video game has even come close to giving me the memories and the pure joy that splatoon 2 has. i met some of my former most beloved friends through this game, and the dlc is hands-down the best that any game has to offer imo. the art direction, the music, the story, the gameplay and community is just amazing. yes, it wasnt perfect, nothing is, but having such a rare game that contains everything that can make a game iconic and memorable is something nobody will be forgetting about any time soon. splatoon 3 is going to be great by the looks of it, so i cant wait to play it with you all when it launches!

One thing I will never forget splatoon 2 for? Octo Expansion and the release after the finale... it's nearly perfection. That and getting the golden needle in it. I'm still way too proud of that, but I don't know how I did it.
While I'm incredibly hyped for 3 and everything it will bring to the table and build upon- I've made so many memories with Splatoon 2 over the years and it just means so, so incredibly much to me. It may not be perfect, but it will always be my favorite
I consider myself to be the *filthiest of casuals* when it comes to Splatoon. I play 90% Turf, get to a solid rank in my favorite modes (Zones and Tower) and PB till the cows come home. Even though I was late to the Splat 2 train, I still had such a great time with it. I’ve recently started watching your videos too, and it’s nice to see a more competitive/experienced take on these Splatoon subjects. This was a really good watch and I hope Splat 3 gives us all what we’re looking for and more.

I have been in love with this franchise since E3 2014. I don't remember the feelings I had moving from S1 to S2. I will remember how I feel about S2, especially moving to S3. Everything we have now lays the foundation for the greatest entry in the series arc to date. I am excited from Splatoon 3 period. Thank you Nintendo for creating this epic franchise.
I remember getting into Splatoon lore when 2 came out before I played the game. I then realized that I never would play it and dropped the ideas. I then finally got the game way after the final splatfest. I've made so many good memories, and my favorite was beating Inner Agent Three while listening to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song. Thank you Splatoon 2, and will be in 3 somewhere through the 16-19 as NeoMagicStar and taking down the other team in turf war with my Aerospray.
I didn't expect to be on the brink of tears at the end of this video but something about the music and everything else combined with it really did that. I just recently ended Splatoon 2 on a super positive note…I reached Profreshinal rank in Salmon Run! Now to look back at all I’ve done in that game right before Splat 3 is just amazing. I partied with randoms in the chairs at Pirana Pit, my best friend and I goofed around in private battles and discovered our mains together, I reached B rank in Tower Control and fell in love with Rainmaker, and who could forget the 2020 Ketchup vs Mayo Splatfest rematch…my first ever Splatfest and the first one I ever WON! I may have gotten the game late into it’s lifespan, but I’ll never forget all the fun I had.
Thank you Splatoon 2 for everything, you played a huge part in my life as my main source for motivation, believe it or not. The first Splatoon didn't last long, but the second one was fueled by the community, its fans, supporters, and everyone else, i can't wait until i play the third game in this series, and i will play this game to the very end of this era, its funny because i remember every single event that this video mentioned, i think this is the most passionate comment i ever made, i didn't get to my goals in the first or second game, but i sure the hell will in the third, so thank you, Splatoon for the memories, the fun, the hype, the times i cried while beating inner agent 3, the twist that callie was somewhat the final boss, and of course, the first time i bought the game. i felt nothing for the other goodbye videos but this one. i can't wait to see all of you guys in splatoon 3, and the splatoon series will go down as my favorite series of all time till the day i die. i will stay till the end of this game. goodbye now!
To send off this game, I spent last weekend tying loose ends. Getting all the location stickers from the single player, and the biggest challenge I've ever did in my gaming career, complete octo expansion and defeat Inner Agent 3. Took me all weekend like I said but I'm glad I did it. This game was the first splatoon game I've played and I hate to leave it. But like the ebb and flow of battle a new game will come and its time to move on to it. Can not wait to finally play Splatoon 3!
Phenomenal video. Although I may not have been as crazy lunatic obsessed with Splatoon 2 as Splatoon 1, it is still by far my favorite Switch game and I have so many fond memories of it and Octo Expansion is inkredible. Counting the hours till Splatoon 3 is unbearable, I am so excited
I never played 1 since I didn't have a wii u, so splatoon 2 was my first. I have over 700 hours in it (which I know isn't a lot lmao) and it quickly became one of my alltime favorite games. I love this game, even with it's flaws, and I hope to look back on it fondly as time goes on. I can't wait for 3 and you know I'll be there with y'all for the long haul with this series. so many good memories and so many more to come
While I did stop enjoying playing Splatoon 2 after MPU was introduced because I hated playing against people who used it, the game still holds a special place in my heart because I met a lot of my most favorite people through the game. I got further in this game then I did the first one, and I plan to go even further in the 3rd one. Thank you for reminding me why Splatoon 2 is a staple game in the franchise. ❤
My personal favorite moment from this game comes from the original Mayo vs Ketchup Splatfest. I was playing on Team Mayo and was having a good time, then I saw that Etika was about to start streaming it and I tuned in and I thought to myself "it'd be so cool if we were put on the same team together". Well as it turns out, the first game when he started the game, he was in my lobby. I was so happy to see that, however I never showed up on his stream since he at that same moment right before the match started, leaked his friend code and he got a massive influx of people trying to add him. So even though I didn't really get to play with Etika, it's still a memory I hold really dear to my heart.
as a person who has mostly played the salmon run mode (i like hordes and my friends dont get on super often) i have enjoyed so many days messing around with splatoon 2 honestly watching some of the things you can do and even just messing around in what i whould think a lot of people will see as high skill lvls is honestly kinda inspiring sad that splatoon 2 will most likely become barren soon i gotta wonder how to really get your self rooted other then just adding people you do well with well hers to more fun times i hope

Splatoon 3 is my first time with the series, but I still went back and bought a copy of Splatoon 2 and played a bunch of matches. This franchise has sucked me in so much I really wanted to see what the predecessor to 3 was like. I ended up noticing a bunch of differences between the games that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. I prefer some small things from Splat 2 but I still love Splat 3.
God, things really have come a long way since the beginning of this entire franchaise haven't they? In only a short matter of time it'll be time to move onto Splatoon 3. But like many here, I give my thanks to Splatoon 2 for all the fun and happy albeit chaotic memories it's brought not just me, but all of us, moving onward truly is a bittersweet thing. But to all of you here, I'll be looking forward to seeing you all and making some more memories with you lovely folks in the Splatlands.

Splatoon has always been my favorite game derives and I’ve been playing it since I was 7!!! I’m 14 now so half of my life is thousands of hours of Splatoon and the music throughout this video made me feel so nostalgic as well as the Splatoon 1 parts of the video
I remember, octo expansions release, I was expecting it to come out July and was currently spending the night at my grandmas house and about to go to bed, I see the trailer in my recommended at the middle of the night and watched it, and at the end when it said it was available tomorrow, it had me screaming (excitedly) and my grand parents came to my room to make sure everything was alright XD It was all like at 12 am to. One of my favorite memories tbh

I got into Splatoon a couple of months after Splatoon 2 launched, becoming interested in the series after watching Chuggaaconroy's Splatoon 1 LP. It quickly became one of my absolute favourite franchises, and it's one I associate with some of the biggest changes of my life as only a month or two after I bought it, I moved out for the first time, and some time in early 2018, I joined a small Splatoon-focused discord community on a whim after seeing a link on tumblr, of all places. This would introduce me to some of my best friends of all time, and it's a server that I'm not only still in, but now run as the head moderator! Despite my issues with the current meta, Splatoon 2 has been incredibly important to me, and given a ton of experience I will never forget. So long, Inkopolis! You'll always be my home away from home.

Splatoon 2 was the whole reason I bought a switch. I honestly think I will be a fan for the rest of my life, I have stopped playing for long periods of time, but every time something new happens I come back.
Splatoon 2 has been nothing short of a journey for me. From seeing the game for the first time from Failboat playing it, to getting the game myself and trying out matches, to participating in every Splatfest, to actually making a serious attempt at learning the game when Chugga made his LP on it. So many fun memories and so many people I've met through all this. It feels good to officially be done with Splatoon 2 knowing I got S+ in Rainmaker too!
Splatoon 2 is a game that I'll cherish forever, in these 5 years I met so many amazing people, some of them even became my closest friends and I was so glad to have approached competitive in this game (even though I didn't manage to reach a very high level, at the end of the day I still had fun and I think that's the most important part and I'll continue playing in 3). So after all of this, I can't help but say "Thanks, Splatoon 2, for some of the best memories of my life" and I hope that Splatoon 3 will continue to bring me as much joy, if not more.
Funny you say to play Splatoon 2 one last time, I listened to this video WHILE playing Splatoon 2 one last time I wasn't planning on playing it again, but I noticed how close I was to 10 Million paint, I figured I'd mess with it a bit longer to get there I didn't really start playing Splatoon 2 until 2020, unlike Splatoon 1 which I got 2 weeks after release, and yet I still have more fun memories with 2 compared to 1 because of how involved I got with the community. I'm ready to move on to the next game, but I'll look back fondly at all the shenanigans going on with the community Here's for more of it in 3!
