After fighting with a transmission that was wanting to lock up occasionally (never at a good time) it was time to get to the bottom of the problem or kill the bike in the process. It had just become a ride that was unusable. We transferred her into the now emptier foundry building and started the investigation. These video clips were from about three months ago when I was in the depth of my sciatica issues. I can tell you from experience that constant pain and medication do affect every day actions including judgement and concentration. I spent an awful lot of time trying to figure out what I was doing next, what I had just done, and where was the tool I just had in my hand! Mostly healed now, thank goodness. But in the end the needed repairs were more that I was willing to attempt so Old Yeller is now a memory.

I agree, I perfect example of the tendency to want to throw good money after bad. I resisted.

I DESPISE working on quad engines. I had dirt bikes growing up, we would replace our piston and rings regularly. But on a quad....... drove it like i stole it and rode her till she blew!

Paul I agree, so very cramped. And on the newer ones computer chips are involved too. If I ever buy another it will be a smaller simpler one for sure.

@@barrylukebuilds7894 I got rid of my "free" one too. Still ran great. Just didn't want to have to take the plastics off EVERYTIME I needed to do anything on it. Got me a golf cart instead. Ya know easier things on the body as we get older. My bride won't let me consider a dirt bike any more. Says my my old nickname the crash dummy was there for a reason.

I've miss something, what happen to your foot? I think you did the right thing letting go of the foundry equipment, were not getting any younger.

The foot issue was life changing. February 1, standing in my driveway by my truck doing pretty much nothing my right leg went nuts. Managed to get the the bed were I cried for about 34 hours straight until the ambulance brought me to the hospital. After that it was a long slow painful recovery. Now 5 months later my foot is not right but so much better. I am off all drugs, can jog a little and if I am busy pretty much don’t notice it. But being in such a state for so long has given me a new appreciation for most everything in our lives.
