No longer pre diabetic & blood pressure is No longer high. Sugar, fructose, carbs & all The bad oils are The culprits. Try removing that & you Will feel Better add intermittent fasting & feel like a Rock star

@@bonniebennick9680 yes when I started a year ago I ate once at 9am then again at 1pm . After that I found I wasn’t any more hunger to wait till only once a day. That’s how I will stay. It works for me. I will say right now I’m doing a three day fast to mix things up . Then I’ll go back to once a day. I got to a stall ,that’s why I’m doing that. The first day after 24 hours I did feel hunger, but today on 48hr now and I’m passed it. Some times I feel you need to change for a few days and then restart . as you body get use to the same thing. I’ve lost 25 lbs in 4 months at the age of 54. At 5’7”, I went from 164 to 139. To lose that original 25 lbs (1 lb a week ) I just ate around 1500 calories, 5-7% net carbs, 65-70% good fats, 20-30% protein. I burned ~200-350 calories around 4 days a week jogging or riding my bike around the neighborhoods while listening to my headphones. This comment is long, but my experiences and research might be helpful for some people. I will never go back to eating bread/tubers/rice. (I’ve heard that if you do go back to eating bread, etc, your body will just gain the weight again so this is a life commitment. From what I’ve seen and researched so far, you can maintain this as a (very rewarding) lifestyle so long as you do it right (See below about supplements and you can go on maintenance of like 10-12% net carbs). In addition to the joy of feeling slim, I feel so much better because: - I have consistent great energy, (just see below on necessary supplements and electrolytes!): - I don’t feel bloated or gut inflammation, - I have clearer thinking, better working memory, - I don’t crave sugar or caffeine suddenly in the afternoon (with the subsequent rise and then fall in energy and mood), - I don’t have crazy hunger, - My mental and physical vibes just feel cleaner …. But I learned the hard way that you need to take certain supplements ! Your body metabolizes sodium and potassium a lot more so you’ll want to ensure you consume like around 3500mg sodium and 4-5,000mg potassium a day. Well, and possibly higher depending on your body and how strictly you're keeping your carbs low (like I went to 8-10% which eases up on that higher demand a little compared to 5% net carbs). Consult a dr who is up on the science of keto lifestyle. A few months into it, all the sudden I had no energy. It really sucked, but I figured it out and I’ve felt great ever since. It took me a couple weeks to get my electrolytes back in balance and to get my strength back bc I didn’t know all that about adding electrolytes. Also, I feel it’s been really important to take vitamins and minerals: Vitamin D3, Vitamin E. Also in my view super important: a good Vitamin B complex plus these two below because a lot of these can often be sourced from foods like grains, molasses, etc (foods you aren’t eating so much on Keto lifestyle) and processed or manufactured by the body through metabolizing glucose (where you’ve moved your body to sourcing its energy mainly from fat, not glucose so much): - myo-inositol (at least 2g and even way more, up to like 12-18g-Lots of published research on that), and - choline (like 500mg day). Plus, be sure you’re getting good amounts of highly bioflavable zinc, magnesium, iron, iodine, and the other essential minerals. And I take 2 scoops of collagen peptides a day. A must: Keep a food diary that tracks not just the macros but also these vitamins and minerals. Ok, I’m not a doctor or have any formal or advanced education in nutrition, biology, or any science. I’m just speaking to my personal experiences of trial and error and my lay research (of sources I felt were reliable, but still….) Anyway, you can have great energy while the fat just burns off and toxins just get discharged from your body -just do your research on supplements needed. And you CAN EAT Keto bread and other snacks. They’re more expensive, but you can have fun with that when you want. You won’t crave them so they’re just an occasional bit of fun. I eat the Atkins chocolate bars, sometimes daily, and have had no problem losing this weight with them (although there’s some debate that their net carbs is a little higher than disclosed, but that’s another topic another day.) either way, they didn’t slow my process down, and they’re like real candy bars to me (chocolate, nougat, etc). A few weeks ago I decided I want to keep taking weight off until I’m maybe 130 lbs, but I’ve slowed it down (8-10% net carbs instead of 5-7%) and started doing weightlifting to add muscle mass. I feel like I’m 22 again! But with the life wisdom I’ve gained to be 54.

Keto is ace (life changer) half way into the lifestyle i was timid of adding extra veggies to my meals thinking about “total carbs” which was silly due to most of it being fibre.. i don’t hold back with the veggies ! I even add a small/med Beetroot to the meal one night and a med size sweet potato another still staying in ketosis. I advise being as clean keto as you can for a while then add extra good carbs further down the line.

I think Keto is great but I don’t think it’s the only pathway to success in this world, especially since many cultures have awesome balanced diets that are naturally low in carbs but not extremistas like Mediterranean, Aryvedic, Korean etc. You have to understand more of your body type and eat foods that are for your body. It can’t just be a one diet fits all. Fats and Proteins are awesome but sacrificing greens to such an extent just doesn’t fit with me. Keto is a solution for people who need a rigid routine to follow to not revert to eating into the MAD diet since American diet is all about bringing your body into a horrible state depending on medication to survive. I believe we just need to educate ourselves on what the rest of the world does successfully.

Not necessarily. It depends on how much you cheat, for how long and how often, and of course how fat adapted you are. If you accidentally cheat, do a prolonged fast to get back on track.

I do not know what you are talking about. You can eat as much protein you like. Any excess will be changed into urea and peed out. You do not need to eat any fat, of course most people will lose weight if they do not eat enough fat.

Why is the keto diet good for you?👍 Supports weight loss. Improves acne. May reduce risk of certain cancers. May improve heart health. May protect brain function. Potentially reduces seizures.

Calories still matter. Are you tracking macros? Check out the Ketogains Calculator to find correct weightloss macros. You'll need a tape measure and get your lean body mass from the Navy Body Fat Calculator online. Best of luck!

It takes time to make your body switch from carbs to fat. It could also be a good idea to start fasting, Dr Jason Fung has a lot of great videos here on yt about that. To lose weight you also need to be on a calorie deficit, otherwise you only burn what you eat, not the body fat. There are a lot of great keto calculators online that could help with that. But as I said the body needs time. For some people it takes longer to get your body fat adapted.
