The Final Season (Premiere) - Newport Beach Trash

That's right; this is in fact, the very last season of Newport Beach trash truck videos. The City Council voted 4-3 in November 2013 to outsource the service to CR&R. Making Winter 2014 the final days of city-operated trash collection service in the city. Rather than a multiple part premiere, here's one longer video.
This was the first time I tried mounting my tripod to one of their trucks. It worked pretty good and no adhesive, cords, etc were even necessary. In this video, you'll see Marc K throwing trash on Hazel Dr, which was on his usual Thursday run. KC was behind the wheel eating his lunch, as the wait time for his lunch took up nearly their entire lunch period. The two loaded out 5026 earlier, and then this one as well at the end of the video. On Thursdays they take out 2 trucks; usually they are 5026 and 5031. But Jeff D was out for the day, so they were behind the wheel of his truck for a change.
I have a few more videos of truck-mounted shots coming up throughout Season 7. Including a video mounted on the Cobras (26 & 27).

Thanks, and sorry about the music choice :/ I never tried it earlier since it probably wouldn't have been allowed. Since the refuse department was being outsourced less than 3 months after this was filmed, the crew let me since it didn't really matter anymore. More to come later on.

oh it's your choice with the music, I'm just giving you a hard time with my own opinions...and that's what I figured, there was more leniency on their part. interested to see what else that led to.

NICE JOB LOVED IT . liked and favorite. love the camera mounted on the truck. that last guy I lost count on the amount of boxes he had and there's more? Can't wait for the season. Are you going to be uploading CR&R footage?

Thanks. There were so many boxes that I didn't even bother counting. A CR&R crew member had me post a video recently so he could show his kids. But more will be coming within the next few months. Including manual trash, automated trash, unwanted cans, cart rollout, etc.

confidential records not shredding? this is on record that the records were not shredded. if any patient has problems with id theft the doctor can be sued

It still plays for me. Try changing your "Country" setting on RU-vid. They tend to block videos in Germany and some other countries fro some odd reason. Then again, that's RU-vid, who doesn't allow people to put creativity into their videos. Who do not let us broadcast ourselves. Because fuck Google that's why

Is the new company going to get the trucks or do they have their own? Was that you putting trash in the truck? I was wondering what you looked like. Was that doctor throwing out medical records?

As part of the city's agreement with the private contractor, they were required to buy the city's fleet for $1 million, regardless if the contractor had their own trucks. They are also required to use brand new trucks or CNG trucks when the transition to automated collection is complete. As of right now, the transition is currently about 50% done, with both the city's old trucks and older CNG trucks being currently used. I am the guy in the gray shirt, and only threw a few items in. I'm sure those were all documents or records; most of which dated back to 2001 or so as labeled on the boxes. Absolutely no documents or other similar items were removed from the garbage, as proven by this video.
