Ironically Breen was the last player to retire (1982.) Him and Neal were the only players to play as far as 1977

My club South Adelaide in the SANFL haven't won the flag since 1964 and that's in a 10 team comp. St Kilda are not the only cursed club. South also build your hope up by actually being a decent team during most seasons but always crush it at the end. I hope both South and St kilda win the flag soon.

Had the team to win one in the early 90s too with Plugger, Winmar, Burke, Frawley and co, then 1997 was a lost opportunity, and then should have won in 2004 when they were top most of the season then lost momentum at the end by losing four of the last six and having to play two finals interstate (against the eventual grand finalists).
