😂😂😂Every time you change your template for the tier list... so demagoguery, with twofaces definitions and interpretation. It has long been clear to everyone that the difference in the strength and vitality of characters in a competitive environment is simply enormous, and the lower levels cannot compete with the upper ones with an equivalent skill. After all this shame, why don’t you just return to the classic S A B C and D scheme... To be honest, it’s disgusting to look at your fantasyland tales, after you told everyone that the difference between the levels in the tier lists is insignificant (:
@@LordKnightfgc My favorite part is seeing almost all of the top players talking about the same thing. In strive, the same characters win again and again in 3 seasons. the game is unbalanced. in fact.
In my opinion, bedman’s issues run deeper than its sluggish movement, poor health and lack of labbing from top players. Its confirms are lackluster on the ground, in the air they are so situational they might very well be non existent, and confirms off of f.S and 2S, its best pokes, sometimes just don’t work. Its damage and pressure outside of the corner are quite weak. Even if you manage to get to the corner and run its phenomenal pressure, on hit you sometimes get very little because of chain explosion breaking the wall instantly. Post-wallbreak is quite bad, because of the aforementioned midscreen weaknesses. Its weak defense is honestly one of the part of his kit that souldn’t be changed, but it is one of the many compounding issues. Sorry for the long-winded response, but since very few people play bedman, I feel like its problems are not well understood. Thank you for reading (Edited for grammar corrections )
post wallbreak "quite" bad is an understatement, it is down horrendous. even when post wallbreak HKD he can't safejump without meter, the only good option is HKD micro dash bomb with install beforehand but that's also either 2 meters or 1 meter and half a burst. this is no doubt due to his turbo bad neutral game his start round button is literally back dash (big body 24f), 3 or 4 (AKA blocking) and jump (also big body 5f), maybe 5K work at times but god forbids it has 8f with literally 0 benefit. even in his strongest position, FD sent him to another country (also no chip damage), YRC force the turn back or back to neutral (unpunishable if block mid air btw), well-timed DS back to neutral (did i mentioned it's bad? it's BAD), or you guess it, DP and 3f moves. not to mention he has no safe way to start his most oppressive move that is 236H from normals on block, his 236H safe options are either after zap (best one) or chain explosion (this still send them too far away to start pressure without meter) or a HKD but yes dp and super reversal exist for most of them so hope you're sharp with your safejumps he's cool in concept and hard to execute without making him a powerhouse but i think it is very much possible to give him a little QOL without making him tier 0. but in the current state, this character should not exist in a game where everyone just 1 or 2 touch you. and i hope arcsys understand that many low tiers including bedman are not weak, it just that all top tiers are too cracked and required Sisyphean effort to win against one as low tiers. but even all these rants about him, I love bedman to bits. and i hope that next patch will be better for the game all around (please make all DP 11f and can't RC on block [a man can dream....]).
@@beexxxy My huge brain post-wallbreak move is just go straight into the metered Circle reversal, since so many good players will mash a move after wallbreak against the Bed. Only works once per match, but still
I was like damn. Tbf I wish we had more high level I-no players to give their view on her. But sometimes I expect I-no to just be thought of as an afterthought cause she’s very straightforward in this game and has stayed that way. If he actually did record her and forgot to put her in though, he could edit it into a short form content video for RU-vid shorts.
What I always wonder about Jacko is how many tier lists put her relatively high but you barely see her winning in tournaments. Edit: I officially take everything back. Jack-O is top tier and Nitro is my father
they have a pretty poor argument that is kinda like "is she play really, like, reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally good, she is busted!"...the thing is,you can use a 10% of that time playing and learning literally any other character in the game and having better result,in the actual strive scene, there are 2 jack o mains, and just one on them have she as her main, the other one (nitro)use her as a secondary, that is not a broken or busted character, that is a usable character,at much
Jack-o IS a good character, but she has the same problem as ram where she doesn’t have enough defense (especially in the corner) to outlive her opponent, on top of her just kinda sucking in neutral since she basically just has to hope her opponent doesn’t do anything, good examples of her flaws are against someone like happy chaos who literally stops her from playing the game.
@@dragonic22 only in the corner which is something nearly every character can do and his post wallbreak situation is abysmal. His midscreen pressure is near nonexistent, and converting is extremely dicey and inconsistent due to spin being so unsafe and prone to not connecting based on distance and hit state. His air conversion is especially bad considering that he wants to jump for the 8 way dash mix, but air spin gets you killed.
@HellecticMojo bad midscreen pressure is present on every heavyweight besides nago, especially pot and goldlewis get spaced out very far with one chunky hit and dont have the mobility to do anything other than a metered extension or a very committal hard callout that loses to basically every other option
@@desperado3347 Have you played Bedman extensively at all in the current patch? I ask because I don't think anyone who actually tried playing Bedman would say that they share other big body problems on offense currently He's very comparable to early seasons Faust in terms of problems
Disagree on I-No placement. She is a low-damage and low-health character, which is VERY BAD in this patch/meta because hitting the opponent a lot builds them a ton of resources, which opponent will use to escape pressure (DP RC), steamroll and kill her with. She wins neutral, and HKD wall break 3 times in a row, and they're still alive with full resources + access to Wild Assault now, and she dies in 2-3 combos. Her bad matchups get worse every patch (those characters getting buffed), and she has bad matchups into the top-tiers. She has some of the most interactable offense in the game (universally), and is unstable for tournaments. She is a Dark Horse tournament character that can make a run every now and then, but I disagree with "Good chance to Top 8"
Yeah there's no way i would put I-No above (say) ABA. I do think ABA is better than most people think she is, i guess. I wouldn't put her above Johnny, Millia, or Baiken for example. Maybe Testament. I wish people who said she was good would actually play her rather than just watching Daru. Don't make me do something stupid like counting TNS top 8s.
As a millia main i wisb the character got a rework especially either with her dmg output or more potential combos with throws or possibly even command throw, i do 90% of health against certain characters only to get 1 grabbed or comboed into oblivion from 75% hp…
I'm a big fan of WA, but I'm glad we first played without it. Strive is in a great spot. Only gripe is that my Htotsu doesn't have armor up to 3-hits, have a disjoint, and morph into Voltron on wall slump.
Your commentary on Baiken is spot on, with the new characters and older characters getting buffs & better tools...she can't compete anymore. Her tatami is useless and her parry isn't worth it. Overall her poor risk vs reward return plus situational burst damage just makes her not worth it to play. With characters like Johnny who has a counter state special move or Sol who can just literally punch until he wins...there's no reason to play as her anymore.
For the Ramlethal section, when you were going over her conversions, you actually did the same conversion twice for "Red Wild Assault" & "Meter." Neither of which actually utilizing WA.
My favorite part is seeing almost all of the top players talking about the same thing. In strive, the same characters win again and again in 3 seasons. the game is unbalanced. in fact.
I think one noteworthy weakness for GL, Bedman, and a few other slow characters is that they don't have strong post-wallbreak situations that let them completely snowball after Super/WA wallbreaks, so their win conditions arent quite as persistent as characters who can get powerful meaties or safejumps.
Man… why couldn’t I have immediately clicked with a character like sol or nago… But no I had to immediately find complete satisfaction in the funny scythe person, it was imperative I enjoyed playing them the most. Like I know every character is viable all of them, and you CAN find ways of winning every match up but it still isn’t that nice when it feels like I need to work so much harder for what other characters can just,… do….
Agreed, imo and it might be insane I wish he could Kara cancel his mistfiner dash with all his specials and not just mist finer and his supers @@colekonstance59
Good tier list you know better than me, but obligatory my main chipp needs his new move Daisuke please, another negative for chipp is that his attacks are stubby, quick but stubby, wild assault makes it's so hard to come back if you get hit once xd Good luck at EVO, I'm rooting for ya!
I'm really curious to see how Millia will turn out in Season 4! Been maining her since the beta for GGST, and I've always believed in the character! Although I'm considering learning another character once Season 4 starts, I do hope that the game is still fun for me to enjoy, watch, play, and support ^^
@@crankheart It has changed. They just buffed all the characters below her. Her position on the roster just got worse. And this is just the beginning. Removing cancel DP and WA fixes is a situational benefit, but playing against TOP levels is still terrible for her. Draw conclusions
Hour and a half long video? Time to skip right to my main to say they're too high and not pay any attention to the thoughtful discussion about every character's strengths and weaknesses
Since you put Baiken so low, are you planning on switching to a stronger character next season if she doesn't the buffs you feel she needs to be consistant? I know you're also playing ABA, are you planning to solo main her if Baiken doesn't do it next patch?
Would be sick if you could link to the resources and guides you mention in this video. Example your teammates content. Pretty hard to find if one does not know their nickname or youtube channel beforehand.
As someone who is new to this franchise and just started playing it(I know I know don't crucify me that much haha) this was a nice breakdown of all the characters.Any tips for a new player would be appreciated 😄
Legit question for May. The fact she's burst safe on a lot of situation isn't it because she's a charge character and Mays are basically holding [4] or [1] during combo opposed to other characters that are running using forward movement/micro dashes or quarter circles a lot ?
I feel like this version is overall top tier in simple words because of the high damage, good air mobility, low recovery move, now millia mixup but lacks conversion ability without Wild-assault huh. Anyway, I feel like this version is still better than the earlier patch version. Now, May at least have a better option to play around and cook.
the conversion thing with baiken totally applies to bedman as well. he gets literally nothing from max range normal hit/punish f.S (buffering a 236S would be death on block)
Can someone explain how May is top tier? There's literally only 1 person using her in tournaments and seeing any success (Slash). If she's so good why is she never being picked up? There were only 2 Mays in the top 100 of Evo. The only character with lower evo rep in the top 100 was Elphelt.
Funny enough even though it was just the one pro player and many celestial players picking her up, now people like lord knight and UMISHO have been picking her up. Even though she very powerful with pressure, mixup, and damage. I think the reason she doesn't get played is simply due to be either not wanting to play a charge character or she's boring to most people. Just because a character not seen in tournaments that much doesn't mean there bad. It deppens how far they get in tournament and how they work in game. The fact that you see lots of Nagos, Sols, and mays in celestial proves that may is up there
I took a 2 year break from Strive (entered fatherhood. Still little time for versus/MP games). I expect to get thrashed when I go back online but as a ZATO player that was decent with him in S1.... I think I'm going to learn someone else for now. Sadly, the new Bedman happened to be my next interest. Guess I'll do Ky.
In light of this analysis, I considered what Testament would need to have more stable pressure without changing too much. jD obviously needs a bigger vertical hitbox so it can hit crouchers. Losing the round because someone decided to tank the hit on your mixup just has to go, it's a travesty that it is still on the game. In corner pressure I feel that even though it's interactable, it's mostly in testament's favour enough that it is kind of fine? But as soon as the opponent gets 50% it turns to shit because after charge S reaper and after crow it is too easy to properly react with an invincible super. So make S reaper startup 3 frames faster (to be same as h reaper), enabling it to be gapless after stain if charged correctly. Then make crow startup maybe 4(?) frames faster, making it possible but reasonably hard to react to before it hits on close range and making it harder to jump out of on long ranges. Not sure if that would be enough. for example it is also annoying that 2k after iad jh has an interactable gap, but those others feel like the risk-reward is OK enough to be workable. Like the 2D gap is also really annoying, but you can at least rps it with enough reward to feel for it to feel ok, e.g. 2k into h reaper to get a strong punish on people who just default to backstep. 🤷 And for the love of god just increase the 5h range already. Why doesn't it connect from 2S?! I've lost so many rounds to that.
I've played Faust since season one and I think most people put him in the right spot. Low tier, but not bottom tier. He has some strong tools, like scarecrow PRC, and some of his items can be super strong, like meteors and mini Faust. But he still struggles to maintain pressure, his zoning isn't super strong unless you pull the right items, and his defense is pretty lackluster. He needs good luck with items or to land his command grab to really get his offense going, and even then he doesn't do amazing damage except in certain spots. He's not at all a bad character, but there are so many other stronger characters in the game.
@NickJJU me too! He does have some pretty niche but crazy offense tools with meter. I would say his zoning is pretty good actually. Jh, fs, bag, scaple, 5k, 2D, jD, j2k are pretty good spacing/zoning tools. The only issue with him is that he is sort of 2 step due to having to rely and give up offense to pull gatcha.
@@NickJJU Fellow day 1 Faust here, I think you're downplaying a little bit here. His neutral is incredibly strong WITHOUT any items, and his defense is probably above average (for a non-dp character) considering crawl and super prc. Item Eat has massively improved his ability to get consistently strong oki, and he can safejump off of nearly anything. He matches up pretty well into big bodies and strong characters like Sol, Sin, and Ky. Honestly his only overwhelmingly weakness is his low health and low damage making a lot of risk/reward scenarios a little uncomfortable, which makes him a weaker tournament character. I'd say he's pretty comfortably mid tier.
is asuka really a zoner if you can kind of just punch through his cubes at range? at most the distance means he's safer to manage resources, but i feel like being weak to fullscreen options kind of discounts you from being a zoner don't get it twisted tho he's brolic as fuck and he has an insane potential to freight train over basically anyone
uhh he throws multiple projectiles at once at full screen... yeah hes a zoner lol. he’s like one of THE most zonery zoners to ever zone in fighting games.
@@cameronrramos yeah tell me how well that works when Beyblade just blows through all of those projectiles. play the character for five minutes please.
is so weird when i started playing the game i looked at may and thought she is a noob char because she is so easy to play (for beginners) and after awhile i noticed everythign she does is super fast
I always wish Axl had a bit better options for up close, like just 3 moves that are plus or something, but usually he's great at keeping everyone out. Just gotta pick up a secondary to deal with some more problematic match-ups for locals.
Yes, thanks darling. Millia is still in the bottom half of the list. The character doesn't work as competitive. Facts. Like you, I am still waiting and hoping that they will help her. 🎉🎉🎉
Maybe I'm just omega up-playing and omega down-playing, but I still don't really think Zato is as bad as Testament and Bedman??? Testament in particular definitely has better defense and great normals, but their offense is so much worse than Zato, no? Blockstring offense is worse, oki is worse, mix is worse, post-super wall break is probably worse too? Idk I'm probably omega-downplaying 💀
elphelt is dying i can barely get a thing with her, the amount of effort i have to do is insane while every other char is just doing the same combo and getting 2x or 3x the damage i deal
It's almost an upside in a backwards kind of way. I'm allowed to blame all of my losses on my character being weak, it's NEVER a skill issue (unless it's against Zato, I'm so sorry Zato bros)
@@jamfingers55the best part, is against zato, we can still blame the character! The matchup is really bad for bedman, simply because 3f projectile reflect. That just shuts down the entire gameplan if the zato knows how and when to use it. (2H>236P has a 3f gap minimum if they FD). Before zato bros comme yelling, Jonathan Tene agrees, and I do feel sorry for you #freeeddie
