Personal position, “We can’t increase console mod cap because it will delete everyone’s mod list” does update “mod list deleted” well that’s unfortunate.
*Issues on Xbox:* * Mod page is broken, and displays 0 B of available storage, and goes into the negatives if you install any mod. Also some mods just send you back to the main menu if you simply try and view their descriptions. * Makeshift weapons creation club content entirely lack models. (Also in the plaza interior cell, a ceiling is missing collisions, you can jump through it.) * Tesla Cannon still doesn't have reloading animations * New Halloween TV helmet's screen display doesn't work with weather mods (Tested with NAC X Lite) * Free Creation Club Content is automatically installed, you cannot refuse to install it, and cannot uninstall it.
I hard crashed 3x going in and out of concord and sanctuary. Mod faves and library gone No noticeable improvements on series X This took 2 years!? There's honestly no hope for elderscrolls 5 or fallout 5
I have no idea how they managed to break the mod page so badly. I decided to play a bit last night to see how broken it was to find my mod page was absolutely gutted. All my mods were uninstalled, both the library and favourites tabs were empty and didn't work and the free space counter was broken. I have no idea how Bethesda break everything I also doubt that the new creation club content automatically installing is an unintended issue
No idea how you expected more. They say exactly what was comming data to data two weeks ago. But from being in the Nexus forum. F4se and some modders are excited with technical changes in how new method of compile or I don't understand it tech stuff. They say that it will be able to improve mods effectiveness and solve lag issues. I am not tech savvy but if they are positive I am positive too I cheat commands to reach Boston and fps goes far better. So I am happy as I knew what it was coming
you’re not wrong to be disappointed, i also feel the same way especially since they’ve been working on this upgrade for 2 years. Also ignore the bethesda fanboys their logic of holding a game company accountable goes out the window when it comes to bethesda when they lower their standards for them but is super high for the likes of rockstar and cd project red
Mods are still messed up on console too, but no one on RU-vid of course is covering that it’s all’s about PC… I can’t even see my mod space it now goes into the negative numbers and I only have a couple of my mods back, and it keeps kicking me out of the mod page and saying operation not complete and I have to click download on mods about 5 times until it does install
Thats means those mods are completely broken at the moment most mods seem to be doing fine its just the list deletion and the buggy mod section over all but i been using most my mods just fine but certain ones did make my game crash so i can’t use them anymore(unofficial fallout 4 update)

Wait, what did they do to the Steam Deck version? Did they take away the boot up window that allows you to customize your settings like with Skyrim, or does it just straight up run worse now or both?
@@ShrimpMaster0982it's verified now. I'm sure they will release a few more small patches to fix bugs and optimize what this update introduced before leaving it be again.
@PGX584 Yeah, but the lack of a settings window in Bethesda games makes it, if Skyrim is a good example, outright impossible to adjust texture quality settings. Which isn't normally a problem for most Steam Deck owners using the device as a portable console/PC hybrid where the screen is much smaller, but for someone like me who uses their Steam Deck docked most of the time and hooked up to an external display it makes their games look unnecessarily blurry and takes away my ability to fine tune my settings to what works best for my set up with as much precision as possible.
If you’re on PC it’s not worth it. Fuck that. The Fallout 4 modding scene is in a really good place and Bethesda just showed up and took a giant shit on it for some lack luster CC shit. If you’re on console though it’s basically free DLC. Take it.
This Update makes Bethesda look like the most incompetent, pathetic game development company in the industry. Its supposed to be a next-gen update and yet we got NO Graphics Update, NO real Ultra-Wide support (they just lazily stretched the UI), NO FPS Physics Fix (Game still limited to 60 FPS without a mod), and NO new Technologies or options to speak of on PC. All they did was give us a couple new missions and a couple new weapons and in exchange they delayed Fallout: London until Further Notice and broke all of our mods and modded saves. This is pathetic, an absolute joke. I straight up sent a support email to Bethesda just to call them dumbasses, I told them to go work on Fallout 5, and quit wasting EVERYONES time. If you don't think its bad, head over to steam, click on the patch notes, and then go to the community discussion regarding the patch. Just look at the backlash, Bethesda could not have done much worse here for PC players.

Soooo.... they ported to current gen, added three previously available creation club mods that are broken and messed up PC load times and added a ton of bugs? Two years in development? How are people not pissed at this? Not to mention breaking the modlist. Bethesda has turned into such a joke from a development perspective and it's sad to see. How is it even possible this is the best they could do for a nearly ten year old game? TWO YEARS of development. All I wanted was to be able to play the vanilla game at a high refresh rate without it breaking the engine spectacularly.
@@Mariscos420 depends from a game. For example Total war is only viable on steam, due to mods. But yeah, single player is op on gog, i still hope bethesda will add an option to play old patch in settings. All features they've added i can add through mods

Definitely not worth the loss of mods. I reinstalled Fallout 4 from GOG. Turned out Vortex deleted all my old mods when I uninstalled the Steam version of Fallout 4 before installing the GOG version. Fortunately, there are some good Nexus collections that make it easy to restore.
Broken Mods and no Fallout London. Not worth the pain. At least I made my app manifest “read-only” so I will not have to touch the update until I’m ready.

Also for me "Hallows eve" is completely broken and will not start "When Pigs Fly" is broken on Xbox, most new weapons and models appear as giant errors
I seemed to have gotten a random legendary reward for When Pigs Fly. It was still a Chinese Grenade Launcher Rifle, but it wasn't named. But it came with the Penetrating suffix, so the thing is NASTY
The PC version of the update is horrendous. Every loading screen is over 2 minutes now and the FPS just drops randomly for no reason. What did they delay this update for well over a year for? The widescreen "support" is also really bad for those who are trying to use it. Also the game still doesn't let you use fullscreen borderless and 4k res at the same time. What a joke of a next gen update.
I had issues with long loading screens in the old game sometimes when leaving building interiors. I have an 8 core CPU with NVME drive, 32gb RAM and an rx6800. No reason on Earth it should be slow.
@@gametime2473 The old version had the same long load bug that Skyrim has becuase same engine, same issues but now it's every single time. Yeah, I booted it up a bit ago just to see what's up & seeing the game drop to 54 FPS in the city was disappointing. I have a 3080ti, no reason at all that should be happening.
Golden rule is not to buy Bethesda games. I played F4 long ago and I was interested what will happen after the update. Game is even more broken than it was before. Everything regarding to mods have gone, so if you played your story, you have no save. Game is constantly freezing and restarting. After a restart, it takes long minutes to go back to life. ACHIEVEMENTS ON XBOX ARE STILL NOT WORKING. I mean, WTF. How bad they are at jobs they do? In normal company they would be kicked out. There are so many levels on development side, testing on different environments, deployment, last hot fixes. They were not doing this at all or monkeys works there?
When what they should did is brought back each person that did each section and tell them fix your mess. Instead of having a few people try and fix something they didn't put together.
So many butthurt comments here. It’s a 10 YEAR OLD GAME that they gave us a FREE DLC content/updates for. This isn’t Fallout 4 remastered. The games so old they didn’t have to give us shit. Get over yourselves. For those of us who love playing the game, even without the update, this is a great bonus for us!

Then quit and never play again. They have other games they were working on. You're so entitled to think they would prioritize a psplus/gamepass game that's a decade old with a FREE update.
I have only played 30 mins of the update, but I havent noticed anything major. I thought it was pretty cool that I can finally play on 1440 rather than being forced down to 1080. Also uncapping the fps is nice. My biggest complaint isnt that the mods system is broken...my complaint is "this is all we got?" People asked for the Enclave and we got one quest, but this isnt what we wanted. What we wanted was the ability to play as/side with the Enclave. Besides the Minutemen, the Enclave is my favorite faction. Bethesda should have taken America Rising: A tale of the Enclave 2 mod and made it an actual part of the game. So instead of 4 factions, you get 5: Minutemen, BoS, Railroad, Institute, and the Enclave. But this is just one man's opinion.
Bethesda and Blizzard continues to astonish me on how disappointing they can get. I no longer think they can turn things around and I no longer think Xbox made a good deal by acquiring these two companies. What a disaster.
The console mod download server is currently undergoing maintenance and background updates for this update. Supposedly if you already had mods downloaded on console those should still be loaded in your game.
My Series X started the download automatically. It was already mostly done by the time I started up the console, and the update deleted my mod list and Bethesda. Net is bugged.
Load times on PC are bugged - the infamous "black loading screen bug." There's a mod that fixes it by prioritizing a limited number of cores on modern CPUs.
I’m happy they did it but for now I’m gonna keep from updating. Doesn’t seem like enough to break my 300+ mod load order. Later on though or maybe on my steam deck I’ll try it! For console players though, it’s 100% worth it
I wouldn't say it's worth it on console, the lighting is noticeably better but there are several massive issues like the game freezing anytime the game saves or the frame rate dropping pretty frequently and that's just the base game I can't even imagine how bad it made the console mods.
this literally will make no difference for us on PC. Nothing that our mods (unofficial FO4 patch etc) haven't already fixed. Stay safe out there and don't update
6:50 That’s honestly just your experience. For me and most others, not only will the game skip like a slideshow, but my game will freeze up and I have to make sure to avoid certain spots of Boston so my game won’t crash. (Xbox Series S)

On my Xbox Series X It Deleted All my MODS and Library. On My Playstaion I can't even get to my MODS it tells me Operation Could Not Complete. I Have No Problem Entering the Creation Club on Both Systems though.
I'm on Xbox Series X. I have been playing though my first survival mode for the last 4 months or so. I hopped on last night to continue playing, and noticed the update was installing (didn't even know it had dropped). I have noticed some graphical improvements (I noticed some misty fog hanging over some ponds) and certainly noticed the pop-in of some downtown buildings. The major disruption for me is that VATS is a bit broke. When activating it I can see enemies through walls, and now the percentages jump around quite a lot. It can jump from 95% to zero, meaning I had to wait for the percentage to come back up to add shots on target. All the while that glowing one is slowly inching closer to my feeble survival character.
Without mods, been doing that since launch. And I have a 3080, i9, 32 gigs of ram and nothing but Samsung ssd's. The High dps and physics mod fixed it though but of course it requires the script extender and now that's broken thanks to this ten generations ago "update".
The first time they talked about this patch... they talked about something NEXT GEN (ENHANCED), and that was right after the witcher 3 did the same thing... everyone thought it would be a total increase... better graphics...bug fixes, stability, etc, etc! Without any information for months and months, some began to think that the update might not be released... with the insistence of fans for more information, Bethesda announced that it would come after the release of the series on Amazon and made everyone feel relieved and more excited again. Even because it took more than 1 year to do this upgrade, everyone thought it would be something big! The truth is the opposite! Bethesda not only didn't improve but also fucked up a lot of things, which after the whole fallout 76 case and criticism of starfild, it's amazing how nothing changes and they continue to be liars and disrespectful! Fallout 4 had NO GRAPHIC IMPROVEMENTS! What they did was increase the resolution and fps in the console version! If you played on PS4 or Xbox One and are now on PS5/Series X, you will see an improvement in image quality... but IT IS NOT A GRAPHIC IMPROVEMENT! Ray tracing, mechanics and content graphical improvement is what Cdprojectred did with the witcher 3! ON PC you have an eternal bug that when running at more than 60 fps the physics of the game is broken THEY DIDN'T FIX THAT! There is a graphics option linked to the Nvidia GameWorks graphics library that can be activated in the game to improve bullet fragments and impacts (and it looks much better) but for years activating it means crashes and crashes.. you run the game for a few minutes and it will always crash and in more than 1 YEAR of ""working"", THEY DIDN'T FIX IT! To make matters worse... the patch broke many mods, many mods are simply completely unstable! All this for what???? Better graphics? NO! Improved mechanics? NO! Improved gameplay? NO! For bug fixes that have plagued users for years, especially on PCs? NO! So why did we have this patch that is a disgrace for the modding community, and it didn't improve anything??? MONEY !
It's weird, I've had near perfect performance AFTER the next-gen update on PC with max settings, when the day before I would sit at like 45-50 and dip to 30 in some areas. And yeah, the load times are awful.
XBox player here. Downtown Boston was the absolute worst before the update. Game would freeze all the time, worst was around Fanuil Hall, Commonwealth Bank, etc. And it would always freeze when I would enter Mass Bay Medical Center. Every. Single. Time. Except after getting the update yesterday.
The lighting is noticeably better on Xbox series x but the frame rate drops frequently to below 30 and there are giant red exclamation marks in random spots, also whenever you save or even when the game auto saves it freezes the entire game for like 5 full seconds.

You do understand that Creation Club content are more or less paid mods right? There was backlash to charging for mods years ago with Skyrim, so Beth stopped that and went in a "different" direction with the creation club. There are hundreds of simple mods similar in type/content size to the Enclave "dlc" you can get for free, and also many of much greater content and/or scope (some might be PC only though). Regardless, there is a reason they are not called DLC.
@@Kefka. didn’t the console versions of fallout 4 have a creation club tab at the main menu that you could activate the mods before playing? Wasn’t this included with the purchase of fallout 4 back when it was fairly new?
I started a new playthrough last night and I got 6 new quests not just 3. I also noticed that like in 76 I now find the ammo of the currently equipped weapon in containers more now. On console it’s a pretty solid update outside of a full ground up remake. PC ultra settings in Quality Mode at fixed 4K (30 fps though) or medium settings in performance mode at dynamic 4K 60 fps. Only problem is Quality Mode doesn’t work on XBox and it’s stuck in Performance Mode whether the toggle is on or off (a pretty glaring error to make it out the door). Hopefully it’s patched soon. I was expecting the what we usually get, just 4K 60 slapped on the last gen version and call it a day, so this is actually more than I expected. Add in the new quests and it’s pretty good. Can’t speak for PC, but maybe they should have left that alone. Not sure what else people expected though here.
I see a lot of comments about mods being deleted on console. Mine were too, when you go to start the game it provides a list of any missing mods. Look up their actual name online before you start searching the mods in game
Absolutely not worth it if you're on PC. If you haven't done it and you're on PC, take measures to prevent this update if you’re using mods that require F4SE.
@@Blasted2OblivionI believe previous mods all worked but In terms of the game actually working is thr issue. Some people's creation Club refuses to download stuff same with mods. It will just say unable to complete operation
The XBox version is broken currently, with it being stuck in Performance Mode no matter if the toggle is on or off. We should be getting pc ultra settings at fixed 4K 30 (this works on PS5 and it is a noticable difference especially with distant detail and foliage, as well as AO, and other visual niceties). Performance Mode runs medium settings at 60 fps and dynamic 4K. XBox seems to never call Quality Mode even when set to it. It’s actually kind of crazy that an issue this glaring made it out the door for the XBox version of all versions. Many people may prefer the 60 fps performance mode anyway, but for visual purists it is nice to have what Quality Mode offers as it’s the most we’ll get outside a ground up remake: i had expected the usual slap 4K over the One/PS4 version and call it a day like we normally see for these things. But seeing the settings bump was actually nice.

I play on series S. Before the update downtown Boston (literally anywhere from Cambridge to DC to Goodneighbor area) was completely unplayable: meaning the game would crash within about 30 seconds to a minute of walking around these areas. I tested this on a new save with no mods as well as with mods. The next gen update has fixed this issue and Boston is now completely playable.
