The fact you let the dogs sleep with you makes my heart melt because it shows how much you love all your fur babies. You are an angel sent to protect them all and I thank you for that Lee xxxxxxxx
Many people let their dogs sleep in the bed. We went from one 15 pound dog and queen bed to 55 pound and a 15 pound dog to cal-king and I still manage to make it on the floor lol.
LOVE the humor you inserted in this one. "If I had a bark it would be a great dane bark" "Get your dog in spelling bees-he must know how to spell dog!" Beautiful dog - I must have missed his rescue story. Good info on Danes as well Lee. You are a gem.
Separation anxiety, Abandonment issues, can all be solved . All that is needed is for the animal\human to Trust. Trust that now they are safe and loved. Jagger feels this now with Lee. That's why he feels safe to go walk about. There is a safe place for him to come back to ! Humans usually need a little more persuading ! 🤗❤️🐶
@@lottielane2486 I have had several with anxiety! One now goes in his crate when we leave! We had one that would get into trouble when left alone! He liked to be outside during most days and had a covered porch and bed to keep him content! Inside he would take a while to settle down and would disappear to his crate where he loved to sleep! He used to sleep in our room with his other 3 dog mates! They each had their own area and would take turns jumping on the bed! It was funny they had a pecking order and each got a turn!
You claim you’re not a dog trainer, but indeed you are in every sense of the way! You know dogs more than anybody I’ve ever known, and what you do is a godsend for these baby pups 🐶🐾🐾❤️
Great Danes are the best . When my parents put my great Dane down, he came to me and told me that he was bused and staved . I called my parents and confronted them, and it's true . He came to me after he was murdered and I called them out . I have nothing to do with my parents after they did this to my best friend Bruce. He was my brother.....😢
I think he is correct, he is not a dog trainer. He obviously loves dogs and provides them with absolutely the best life, and they love him back, so do what he wants most of the time. But he does not "train" them to do so. You could compare him to Luke Evans at The Farm channel, who has 20 dogs, 2 cats and a dingo. He is a dog trainer, and interacts with his dogs very differently. Not throwing shade on Lee Asher at all, he is a wonderful dog pack leader, but he is not a trainer, just a great dog dad 😊
@@fridaytax Yes dog trainers can be very stern and do questionable things! A lot of people send their dogs away for weeks for training! That's scary to me!
I am surprised you haven’t yet found any greyhounds, they are also so maltreated and dumped after not being useful anymore Here in Spain they breed and use them for hunting. The most badly treated dog here, I spare you the stories, we rescued Bella in a very bad state full of pellet shots and thin as a rake. The sweetest girl and so amazing how she learned to trust men again!
I think in America we have a fairly decent set-up for Greyhound adoption. The race tracks are better at releasing them to rescue organizations. Does that mean they have a great life as racing dogs? No, not at all. Greyhounds were bred for hunting. They are "sight" dogs. So, they don't smell out the prey. They look for it. Mostly. Glad you were able to rescue Bella! :)
Galgos are different than Greyhounds, even though they look a lot alike. There are more rescue groups for them now, but not nearly enough. There is a new law for dogs in Spain, but if your hunters are anything like ours, most of them won't care and keep doing horrible things. Victor Larkin has had more of the Galgos showing up at his rescue, so we'll see what happens.
What ever Lee does it certainly works for him. Why would people say things like that. Maybe their jealous because it works for him. I love the work he does and he loves what he does, and boy do the dogs love him so much ❤❤❤
Lee "you don't want a dog that can't spell dog" 😂😂 I love waking up to you and the Pack. They are all so beautiful. Thank you again for giving them all their best life ever. Hugs to each and everyone of you 🤗
My rescued ridgeback had terrible separation anxiety x and destroyed SO much and hurt himself often trying to get to me. Once I realised how bad it was I just never left him. The bonus:- he doesn't wander he just wants to be with me. No gates no fences he roams free and STAYS with me.......After a few years of him being with me all the time he started to relax and now I can leave him without any problems. Patience and things will resolve - ps the best gift you can give any dog is to never leave them alone and to be with you all day if possible. Pack animals are not meant to be alone.
I will always remember from the tv show, when you took a bunch of the dogs out and left Roger at home, and the camera crew filmed him standing on the deck crying cause you were gone. It was so sad! But also so sweet cause it was the first sign that he was really bonding with you ❤
@@chasethecat3839 it’s from the show he did called My Pack Life! It was on animal planet I think. I watched it on discovery plus. Roger’s name was Sarge when he was first adopted.
My one girl a cattle dog mix has separation anxiety since a puppy. She’s 6 now and much better but are neighbor keeps her if we are going to be out after dark because she freaks out. I love her.
No blankets needed with all the pups laying on you thru the night....all the love they show you...and vice versa is so heartwarming considering the trauma some of these dogs have gone thru. ❤
You said it best..Danes are a breed in itself. They are definitely loyal to their person/family. I have a 200 lb sweetheart that will literally stand between me and the door. He is as gentle as they come but I would not want to be the person that tried to hurt me.
I mis spelled his name last time, my apologies to Jager. He seems so sweet and loveable. Separation anxiety in my rescued PomPom was the hardest to overcome. All is fine now as she is my Velcro baby now. Best of everything for you and the pups❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It has been 5 months since I adopted a very frightened Chi. She needs to be beside me all the time. It has taken 5 months for her to gain some confidence and she is becoming a funny, bossy but good girl! Rescued dogs need lots of time to show their true personalities.
Willyrose19 - yes, these wonderful dogs need time to work through all the horrible "stuff" they have been through. And they seem to live in the moment, so it is possible to help them change and know what is expected. We need to be as patient and understanding as Lee is.
We have 3 rescues and one from a puppy mill! They each have backgrounds we will never know! The puppy mill daddy has been the longest to relax and enjoy himself! For not seeing anything but a filthy pen he is the neatest boy! He never goes to the bathroom inside and waits for his treats and food at his bed. He waits until the other dogs are finished eating and they play checking each dish to see what's left! He is so calm and loving! He's a sweet loving boy! His sister and brother love him! We love watching them touching and loving each other!
Aww guys, so sorry. Maybe u could rescue one. It doesn't mean u didn't love your fur baby and you won't stop grieving or missing, but it would be a great distraction and would help a dog that doesn't have a human. 😊
Hi Junebug! You are such a smart girl! When my eldest son, now 25, was a toddler, we would be out for hikes. Eventually, he would just stop and say, "Pick me up. I can't waaaaaalk."
Junebug couldn't keep up with the big dogs! Papa knows what to do out walking with his children. He's a great dad and knows how to teach them manners. The importance of education, and We ALL need enrichment. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Lee Asher & Team
I had a Great Dane and she was the most precious dog-and her name was Precious(name given to her by out our 3 year old son at the time)❤❤. She would lay on the floor and our 1 year old daughter would lay on her belly and nap/watch TV. You were much loved Precious RIP❤❤. PS she weighed 180lbs and just as sweet and kind as my Boston Terriers at 18lbs. She also was a good house dog-just FYI they don’t run around like idiots!!
Awwww how beautiful boy Jager.. it will be everything okay with him because of you Lee, beautiful soul. Thank you for saving them ❤❤❤.. Greetings from Slovenia, Europe 🙋♀️
Nothing better than waking up to a bed of dogs! Everyone knows how lucky your dogs are! Lee and The Asher House staff are beyond amazing! Love you all for all you do! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love Jager. He has to be our Saint Dane Bo's relative, they could be littermates except our Bo was 175 lbs. Sadly, he lost his battle with bone cancer a week ago today. I would love to show a picture or video it's crazy how much alike they are, even how they walk and the confidence. We got him from a rescue in Oklahoma for being too protective of his then human "Mom". We work at home and take em everywhere we go, so our dogs don't get a chance to have separation anxiety. I wish Jager could live here!! He's perfect!!
I'm so sorry. It's been a year since we lost our beloved lab, Ellie. It still hurts. Sometimes it surprises me how deep the grief is. Hope your doing okay. It's a tough time. ❤
My favorite is watching any dog you bring in, really work through all their issues in a beautiful place with other dogs that can show them how to live their best life :)
Lee, too funny😂😂 Thanks. Luke Evans from The Farm in Australia says almost the same about recall. Basically, either follow through by going after the dog when they are ignoring you or let it go for now and then repeat at a later time depending on the dogs progress. So , I think you are an awesome dog "trainer".😊😊
Lee, You're a Dog Whisperer with the kindest and gentlest of souls.🕊️ Each of these precious furbabys crave your love and attention. You're their papa🫶🏻, their king👑, the love of their life's💖.... This kind of love is PRICELESS!!! Lee, you cannot even imagine how much we all love you,... because you're the BEST PAPA ever, for all of these furbabys!! ❤️🫶🏻❤️🥰 You radiate immense love and compassion, and it comes from deep within... 🥹 This is why we love you immensely 🥰
So beautiful these fur babies are doing so well. I cant imagine what these fur babies have gone through. Thank God they have you and the others there too. A normal life filled with kindness, love, and security knowing they are safe finally. Beautiful. Thank you Lee.
❤❤You say your not a dog trainer,, you are much better than a dog trainer. You are GOD SENT .The love you give is more than a bowl of food. ❤❤ GOD BLESS YA'LL ALWAYS, YOUR WORK FAMILY IS ALSO SO AMAZING . LOVE YA'LL TOO DEATH AND SO DOES THESE BABIES❤❤❤❤❤
That Dane is beautiful ❤️. They all are and staying in bed surrounded by dogs would be life at its best! Its nice to see them all get along in the pack. Security is everything for these babies. Smart pup looking for you for that confidence.
Jager is so beautiful. My mini-Pom had seperation anxiety...He scratched so hard on the kitchen door that he left gauges. Literally, I would talk to him when he had to be left at home and assure him that I would come back. Over and over. And first thing, when would get home, I would exclaim "I am back and I will always come back to you" to him. He and I talked about it. He figured it out. Took him with in the car too. Heaven forbid when I would put gas in the car.😂 He learned that he and I were forever. I hope Lee keeps him. If he is adopted, he will have to be soothed and assured all over again by someone else. And he unfortunately will be destructive when seperated from his main person (unless someone is always home with him to assure him) till he learns.
This was such a 'natural' video. Pleasant and full of good humor. Jager is a handsome dog and seems to be adjusting. It's just that I want Lee to keep every dog!
My oldest Canine Son is German Dane. His Mom is a Beautiful Ebony Black Great Dane...one early morning, six years ago...a local full German Shephard scaled the six foot fence and got her. Our Boy looks like a German but is built like a 'Scooby' ... very lanky, always needing affection and food... still looks under nourished! We Love All The Asher House Is Doing! Light and Love from across the State Line River!
I think we need to see a video of Lee waking up in the morning! 😊 There is a couple with a lot of huskies and cats who film themselves and the pack while they sleep. 3 million views!
I always look forward to your daily videos. Your warmth and your humor always shine through. If I was a dog, or, a cat, or a llama I’d definitely want to live out my life with you. Much love and admiration from Western New York State.
My Great Dane was EXTREMELY attached to me. Which was helpful honestly, because he would get between my ex husband and I, my ex was very abusive and my dog would bark and literally stand in between us. They have no idea of their size most of the time. Mine would curl up onto a wing back chair. He’s a gorgeous dog!! Thank you for taking him into your pack.
Love you and your pack Lee! I laughed when you said teach your dog to spell... Our ACD, Gus, learns words SO quickly. So we started spelling words that triggered a reaction in him, like "treat", "dinner", etc or his friend's names. But he quickly learned the sound of spelled out words ! So we moved on to saying words in Spanish, and now we're spelling out the words in Spanish😂🤣
I find it sad that when you’re explaining what you do (and you obviously do it so very well) you have to be careful because you know there will be backlash from trainers, non trainers and the general public - what a state the world is in where people are so convinced of their opinion. When training mu dog I read 5 different books and they all said completely different things. The allowance for difference without getting angry is so important. You inspired me to rescue my dog - she is now a search and rescue dog and is saving lives. Thank you Lee.
Our pitsky Nova had seperation anxiety when we first got her. She DESTROYED our sectional sofa. She slowly got better when she realized that I would be back...I worked 5 hours a day😁 She is a love bug and a TANK...120 lbs of love❤❤❤❤
Laughed when Lee was talking about trying to get out of bed. I have a king size bed and can barely turn over. Btw, where is Matilda? I miss seeing her. 😂❤🐶
Lee, And one more thing - If dogs know the boundaries, they are happier. Just as with children, discipline is needed and wanted. You are truly the dog whisperer.
Thank you so much for that knowledge, I have often thought I wanted a Great Dane, and still do. But, it's great to know everything you can about them and their breed. I have a lab/'bulley' mix now and he is the sweetest most loving adorable baby boy I have every had! I love what you do, keep smiling, and know that we love you back!
Awwwwwuh, s doing good. Thanks for mentioning the places where you get your rescues. You have such a big heart Lee , it just keeps growing and growing and growing !! ❤❤❤❤❤
Have a dog with separation anxiety. He's 11 yrs old now. Don't know what his first 6 months were like that caused this but alot of work and absolutely worth it. Still has alot of issues but I love him so much that it just doesn't matter. I do what I can for him and love him to bits!! ❤ never give up on a dog like this and he'll never give up on you!
You may say you’re not a dog trainer, but you’re definitely a dog whisperer. Thanks for the tip on calling your dog. My 4 ignore me, I do call them too much. Love your personality ❤
We have 3 rescued pups. A 14 year old shih tzu, a six year old podengo and a two year old English pointer. The last two adopted here in Portugal. Our local rescue kennel is half full of large mastiffs and Alentejan Refeiros. Apparently the larger breeds are almost impossible to rehome. Some have been in the kennel, literally for years. Beautiful, gentle giants. Our house is just too small to take a large breed and I couldnt bear to keep any dog outside in a kennel. It breaks my heart to see them, desperate for a loving home, but many certain to never find one. Fortunately, the kennel staff are such loving, caring people, but there's no place like a loving home. My three, sprawled in their beds by the log fire can attest to that.
Lee?? Just give it some time!! We all have anxiety!! Jager will get better!! Monitor him and watch him step by step!! You will see a difference in him!!❤❤😊😊!!
As a dog trainer you got him to look at you he is at least taking notice but for him its early days but you are correct don’t keep calling the other thing you can do is walk the other way especially if he has separation anxiety he will tend to follow you and thats a good method of getting him to take notice and return
Jager is such a LUCKY Dog to be with you and your staff!! He really looks so happy and it sounds like he got what he needed last night!! Great WORK as always!! Much Love to all those precious animals, to you and the staff too!! 🥰
He is absolutely amazing!! And seems to be fitting in wonderfully! Way to go with the Great Danes beautiful animals, I just love them all, Great Danes, to the Chi Chi's!! Have a beautiful day, love ya always!!🩷🩷🩷🥰
Hi Lee, my 2 lab sisters just turned 2 and I have had them since 8 weeks old. They both have separation anxiety. The are sweet girls. One is special needs. They are a handful. Into everything. But I love them to death. Bless you for all you do.
He's a beauty. I hope keeping him is considered because he's just so big that all of this land is what he really needs for his mind and body. Then again, I always think every dog should stay with Lee. I just love the sanctuary.
"Like if I had a bark". Lee. You have a deep way of connecting to these dogs and they know it. How special you are. You have found your place in this world.
