Just received my box set of Anne of Green Gables in mail yesterday. So excited to start reading them. :)

I think I won’t treat reading as a competition anymore. I want to read more off my personal shelves.

I just finished 'What I talk about when I talk about running' by Haruki Murakami and I loved it so so much! I've been running for a while now and I'm also hoping to run my first marathon this year :) I found it really affirmed so many of my thoughts and experiences over the years as a runner (I am now 18 but ran my first half at 14 and have ran regularly ever since!) but also loved how he connected his running experiences with his writing work and has inspired me to start writing as well!

Walden is one of my most favorite books, I gained very deep insights into simple living :)

Ha! We did our New Years Day hike yesterday.... walking around Walden Pond!!! It was gorgeous as always and full of winter swimmers! Walden is for sure a classic; Thoreau is such a part of daily life here in my town that it is hard to think of it objectively. I prefer browsing his journals and also "A week on the Concord and Merrimack" because the Concord River is so dear to my heart.

Heyyy Ciara Happy New year to you and Jay Firstly WOW !!! how is it that absolutely no one has noticed or even mentioned in the comments “ THE RING!!!!” Big huge massive CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 I was absolutely delighted when I saw this on Tik Tok ( or was it instagram ??? ) Such a lovely start to 2023 xxxx I love reading all sorts of books and this year Im aiming for 40 . Im hoping to go through ones I already own too . I don’t go for anything specific genre wise , but if I had a preference I would say it was more classics / contemporary/ dystopian/ sci fi I can pretty much find some positive in most books if im honest . Here in West Sussex we have a reading challenge in our libraries and this is fantastic for getting ideas on what to read through the months … I’ve signed up to it to do it alongside good reads .. I cant post the link here in the comments because of guidelines , but if anyone wants to look up west sussex libraries its all there on the gov site - I don’t know if any other counties are doing the same , but its really inspirational for those that get stuck on what to read . Also I love doing seasonal reads Winter books , Summer reads , Autumn Reads , Spooky Reads , Christmas Reads … Anyway looking forward to seeing your vlogs in 2023 and watching your progress and reviews Once again Happy New Year Ciara xxx

I went to bed at 10:30PM. What lovely scenery‼️ Glad to see you happy with your reading goals‼️As for me, I chosen to read 55 books this year, I may add more depending on how far I get but we’ll see‼️ Ps: I got 22 chapters to go in Little Women so I should be done by February or early March‼️ In the middle of that I picked up The Christmas Bookshop which I finished on December 28, I loved it more than I thought I would because of the romance and scenery‼️ Then I finished The Romanov Bride which tells the story of The Grand Duchess Elisavyeta, it was a beautiful but sad whirlwind of historical Russian fiction‼️

Happy new year! One of my unofficial goals this year is to reread a little bit more. I miss a lot of my favorite books. :)

Hey Ciara and Jay: Happy New Year. My plan is finally to finish a Faulkner novel. Beside that I want to do a quick study of three plague novels, Camus' The Plague, Lewis' Arrowsmith, and Pamuk''s Nights of Plague. Generally I avoid translations, but Pamuk comes so highly recommended it will be this year's exception that proves the rule. Of course Proust and Shakespeare are there still but currently simmering on the back burner. The only other idea I have for reading is to pick off a few more from the Rory Gilmore list. Anyway, starting to ramble now, so thx and take care.

I've been meaning to read Walden forever, your (Jay's) edition is beautiful! For another light classic, I'd recommend A Room With A View. It's very short, and I think you'd enjoy it. Happy New Year!

I would like to read the running books with you! :) Far from the madding crowd is a really good book. It doesn’t sound as heavy as Tess. I’d recommend it on audiobook. My first book of 2023 is Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the Looking Glass. Never read them before and to be honest, I’m not a huge fan 😢

Have you read The Call The Midwife books? They are sad bit great.
