I think this year by Rackers could be argued as the best kicking season ever. Perfect seasons by Anderson and Vanderjagt prior to this point were aided by playing in domes.

There was something about them that seemed warm and inviting, like you wanted them in your living room. I don't know why, but you just don't get many crews like this anymore. The thing about this crew is they just had great chemistry. I don't think Mike Patrick was a great play-by-play guy and Paul Maguire just seemed like your goofy uncle, but I think everything tied together so well. Joe and Mike worked together before Paul came and they always had phenomenal chemistry, and adding Paul made it all the better.

@@robsmith961 yeah brother, they were A+ and I know what you mean. My favorite current announcer is probably Ian Eagle. He's underrated.

@@EsotericHighway I think Eagle is good but he is not my favorite; I think I have too many bad memories as a kid when he called games for the Bengals where things did not go our way. But he definitely is objectively a very good announcer and always calls a good game. I'm not so sure about him being underrated, though... Fans definitely recognize and appreciate him, he has a great spot as CBS' number two guy, and his name has been thrown around for even bigger opportunities before (MNF, Amazon TNF, and CBS resigned him a couple years ago before they resigned Jim Nantz, which was certainly a leverage move, but they indicated they would have been alright going with Eagle had Nantz actually jumped ship).

@@frefai Right. As far as I understand the salary cap hit them harder than any team in that period and they had to suffer for a while as a result.

Hell even in 2004, after the 49ers 25 year run of relevance finally came to an end and they had been forced to blow up the team the previous offseason, the 49ers got their only 2 wins of the season against the Cardinals, both in OT. I actually edited a video for another channel on how bad that 49ers offense was, they faced the notorious Bucs defense and looked like a high school team. Think the video is called “Most pathetic good-weather game on offense?” 😂
