I was really hoping he’d use one. Don’t really care about the time loss from befriending the horse, I think the running time would be drastically less. And more importantly, it would be *fun!*
Not a bad time man! I don't think it's WR; people on my discord have been running superflat speedruns since 1.18.2 dropped. It's such an awesome category.
@@fe1 true, villages are less rare, there's no brutes, trading is better and the stronghold exists but only problem is eyes of ender don't point towards the stronghold
This was actually possible before in 1.16.1. Floating strongholds did spawn, but you couldn't throw eyes to locate them, meaning you just had to run around until you found them. You could make a nether portal in the end portal room, then collect the materials to beat the game. I have done this in just under 50 minutes on 1.16.1, but it could have been much faster
@@simond5598 Yeah, if you have your render distance at 32 chunks, you will be able to see roughly a 1000x1000 block area, so if you run around for a bit in the stronghold ring, there is a good chance that you'll find one.
You actually don't need to go to the overworld to throw your eye. There's an even weirder bug in 1.18.2 that makes a stronghold always spawn at -200 -1688 so you can actually go straight from the nether to the stronghold. Small edit: just as a sanity check, a stronghold also always spawns at 2056 888 which makes me think all stronghold will always spawn in the same locations. Edit 2: I just want to clarify that this is only in super flat. In normal worlds the strongholds generate normally and without fixed coordinates.
I was resetting for a good seed. Got a blacksmith with 7 obsidian, took the 2 lava found another village with blacksmith I was in at 8 minutes unfortunately I had to walk a lot through the nether but time was : 36:43
for memory, don't know how long ago, you old customise superclass with structures and biomes. I remember making one, and there was ice biomes and stuff. you can make lava lakes, ponds and caves. sorta odd for a superflat
A good strat for this is to go stronghold first (you can use 1.16.1 also) by randomly walking around the first ring (it's not too hard) and then making a nether portal in the end portal room
I remember in old gen console you could make a superflat world with generate structures and you could find any structure, I'd see strongholds like that all the time the only problem with beating the game on them though is that the nether is flat too and fortresses wouldn't spawn
You technically could have placed lava on top the portal and let it flow down. But you would need to get lucky and have the portal light before the lava finishes falling.
@@artemis4777 or he could place 9 pieces, then use his last lava to light wood, once the wood lights he can go finish the portal, put wood behind the portal and the fire would be able to spread into the portal
just make the portal with 1 obsidian missing, then use the last lava to light one of the planks, and quickly change the lava into obsidian and make sure the fire keeps spreading
Pretty sure I saw a video that said that there was a previous version that had strongholds but you couldn’t use eyes of ender so the only way to find them was wandering around the rings until you got lucky
dude that just hit me with a blast of nostalgia this used to be a bug on Minecraft PS3 edition and I remember encountering this in a world with my friends
most GIGACHAD run ever, totally NOT carried by rates, floating stronghold, superflat world, more well deserved world record run than Nerdi, go on illu, keep up the good work WidePogMan
Something that superflat would allow you to do is get slime blocks easily, especially from iron golems killing slimes, because then you have an insta-mine block that negates fall damage in all dimensions. And yeah, you can't really speed bridge with it but it's not the kind of block you'd want to bridge with anyways Also, finding a ruined portal is huge. They do spawn, but I don't know how you didn't stumble upon one. I recently started a superflat survival world and I found like 2. I actually found one of them before I found obsidian in blacksmiths and I already had a diamond pick from trading so that's how I managed to get in the nether
I remember playing superflat on Xbox 360 when I got bored. It had almost every structure possible able to spawn, so you could Speedrun that, but controller is terrible. 🙂

The way to light the portal with 4 lava and 6 obsidian would be to create a long fuse of flammable blocks, and put the end of the fuse next to the portal. You would use the lava to light the fuse but once it’s lit, you can pick it up and have enough to create the frame
Would it be cheating to use custom superflat generation to get resources? Since you can set each layer to any block, I think that would be a good strat if its legal in the speedrun
there *is* a way you could light a portal with 4 lava buckets and 6 obsidian: Convert all the lava except for one to make a portal, then place the remaining lava next to a wood block in the portal and wait for the wood to catch on fire. once it does, convert your remaining lava to obsidian to complete the portal frame and once the wooden block disappears you got yourself a working nether portal.
About the "One Block at a Time" version... it could've been possible then. Since you can go to the Nether in superflat, and you can get end portal frames from nether fortress chests, you could go to the End dimension. If I'm missing something big, you can gladly correct me in replies.
It is possible to speedrun this on the original xbox one version of minecraft using a customized superflat world (you can choose how many layers and what structures spawn, including the stronghold)
You could use one one the lava to light a patch of wood, pick up the lava and turn it into obby to finish the portal, let the fire spread and light the portal.
you could light some wood or a house on fire with the lava before fully completing the portal (probably against the same house) then while the fire spreads on the house complete the portal and have the fire spread to light it
