Pot Luck, a Conquest 60 hull being used for commercial fishing was recently the recipient of the first FPT Cursor 16 Marine Engine in the Southern Hemisphere!
The Cursor 16 is available at the commercial rating of 1000Hp @ 2300rpm for A2 light commercial rating of up to 1000 Hours per year, which is the rating the C16 is set at for Pot Luck.
Achieving an impressive 19.5kn at max rpm for this 34 tonne vessel and a comfortable and economical cruise of 14kn @ 1700rpm.
Installation costs were kept at a minimum, as the existing 2.5:1 ratio Negata gearbox was reused and bolted directly to the SAE 1 bellhousing of the C16.
Small in physical size as a 15.9 litre, inline 6 cylinder allows excellent power to weight ratio and a great deal more engine room space.
Incredibly fuel efficient and quiet, with the latest in Bosch Common rail fuel injection technology, the C16 has given Pot Luck a new lease on life to keep on picking the Lucky Pots of Blue Swimmer Crabs in South Australia!
