Splatoon isn’t really an unknown game but it’s competitive scene is actually incredibly interesting and I would appreciate if you guys tried looking into it

As someone shoots been playing Rivals since day 1 of early access, I love hearing people talk about the game. It deserves more recognition than it typically gets.

Seriously if you like melee but find yourself struggling to grind tech skill or execute the cool stuff you think up then pick this game up and give it a try. Some of the best designed characters in any fighting game ever, dan did an amazing job.

Thank you so much for making this video. As of late I've not given rivals as much of my attention as it deserves and you have reminded me what amazing fun it is. This game is an absolute love letter to competitive smash fans and people who really want to commit to learning a fighting game will not be disappointed. I've got every piece of dlc on steam and have supported these guys from the beginning and will of course move over to switch to bring the action to my living room. Cannot wait.

I'm amazed at how much the Rivals universe has expanded since this video released. We were all just excited for Definitive Edition over a year ago, but in that time we've gotten comics, a card game, a rogue-like in development, NEW CHARACTERS MADE BY THE COMMUNITY, AND HOLY SHIT DID YOU SEE THAT 3D RIVALS GAMEPLAY CLIP!?!? I cannot wait for whenever you make a video on this new project, because it's very clear that tetherball enthusiast Dan Fornace has many more ambitions beyond what he achieved with Rivals of Aether.

First time I saw Rivals in 2017, I instantly fell in love on that game. I always would like to watch tournaments after I bought the game that same year. Hoping I can join the scene after I can currently deal with IRL issues. RoA seems fun to start playing competitively.

Now you need to do brawlhalla. That game is getting huge and is crazy good with a lot of cool unique features. Btw I love rivals and have played since release and i love smash and have played competetively for at least 4-5 years. I love all three games and do not want to start a war.

The switch releases is interesting because any smash set can double up as a rivels set up for tournaments.

I’ve been playing rivals for a almost half a year now and it’s an S tier fighting game.I would definitely recommend finding someone to play with you and learning the game together

This game did a reverse smash. Smash takes many universes and turns it into a fighting game. Rivals turned a fighting game into a large, multimedia franchise.

Coming from a traditional casual fighting game background, I really like the direction Rivals has gone. Interesting original characters you don't necessarily need a background in to appreciate, fresh, novel ways to interact with space, doesn't seem overly lore heavy and accessible. It doesn't need well known IPs to be rocksteady. Big shoes to fill but it's shown that it has what it takes to give Smashers legitimate variety.

I've always thought of Rivals as just a better Melee. It's super fast paced just like melee, but it makes mechanics in melee so much easier to do. Wave landing and wave dashing in rivals feels like I'm melting away. Most aerials have low landing lag so there is no need for L cancelling either. These mechanics in melee are just really hard to do and require a lot of practice and willpower to master. Not even to mention that ledge hogging just seems like a completely stupid mechanic from the perspective of a player trying to get into the game. My friend loves melee and I've tried so many times to try and get into the game for him, but it's just too hard and not fun. Rivals was a completely different story. When he showed me Rivals I was getting my ass comboed and he destroyed me in the beginning. This time, however, wave dashing and wave landing were so easy that I was able to get up to his skill level within a relatively short time. Not having to worry about L cancelling or ledge hogging just made it that much easier and more fun to do. Rivals is still kinda hard to get into, but it is so much better to get used to than melee for casual players. I haven't even mentioned that the steam workshop is absolute hilarious nonsense and makes the game even more fun if you're just screwing around. I really hope the scene becomes even bigger once we get to the Switch release.

Rivals has been rivaling Smash for a while now. Hyped for the definitive edition though, so I can finally play it on Switch. Also hyped for the Card Game.

Seeing all the progress the game made in every aspect brings a smile to my face. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Rivals. ^^

It is on sale right now so you better get the game now and all the dlcs,for unique infamous skins that you won't be able to get after DE releases. The game and the character dlcs are 17 dollars, all 50% what are you waiting for.

I'd argue that until Nintendo will monetarily support smash tournaments, Rivals is the best platform fighter for an esport since they crowd fund larger pot bonuses at all the majors. Like at this point Dan Fornace and his team are just a non-profit lol

This is the type of content that should make justice of how criminally underrated Rivals is. This game is amazing, and in my opinion, at least when it comes to gameplay, it surpasses Smash. *EDIT* CAN SOMEONE SHOW THIS TO ZERO AND OTHER SMASH PRO PLAYERS SO THEY CAN CHECK RIVALS OUT?! That would be awesome.

Rivals is super sick and the community is great, if you're interested in more competitive-oriented games you should definitely give it a try!

Even though there are a limit on charac- Pc Rivals of Aether. Let me stop you right there.

The only problem with Rivals being a competitive focused game is that EVERY FREAKING PERSON ONLINE IS A SWEATY-ASS TRYHARD Edit: I do absolutely adore this game to pieces though

I wouldn't say this rivals Smash at all; I'd say it more compliments or coexists with Smash. Personally, I think the game is mechanically tight and well done, the art style puts me off so bad tho that I can't get into it.
