I think it's because Glenn thought Sephiroth was an arrogant, spoiled brat at first, but changed his mind immediately after sensing his guilt and naivete.

@@EvelynL.1112 also cuz seph was a young blood and given a leader rank... over him on his mission. and seph tried to make glenns damaged ego less hurt with the apology.

Apparently the writers want us to hate Hojo even more. He was already a big piece of work in the OG and the Compilation makes us hate him even more.

The normal kids had the things Sephiroth couldn’t have, a loving family, friends, the ability to really cut loose and have fun without having to worry that you’ll accidentally kill someone.

it would not have mattered Sephiroth would have found out either way, Zack was there and he was unable to stop it and Glenn seems to have a short term memory, he tells sephiroth if he whistles again he will kick Sephiroth's ass which he would fail to cause Sephiroth would cut him down in seconds before Glenn even moved. also years later during the last days of Wutai war he challenges Sephiroth despite having witnessed not only a teen sephiroth decimating Rhadore Soldiers but like four Behemoths without even breaking a sweat and what not.

@@danielcook7975 we do not have the full context of events yet that lead to that point yet so it is far too early to tell what is going on. We get it you hate Glenn but you are assuming way too much without knowing the full context that lead to that moment since we will be slowly building up to that point over time. Also, Sephiroth fell into madness after Zack left him on his own to search through the data found. He was not there when the madness took over but after when he encountered Sephiroth again in his madness.

Sephiroth took everything to heart, hence why he is more friendly years later of course does not last long but still

Also are you role playing as someone who is overly enthusiastic about Sephiroth to a point of character worshipping or something because your other comments been rather strange.

The fact that people cite sephiroth falling into madness as an incident in Crisis Core is just sacrilege. He fell into madness in the OG by his own discovery. Crisis Core bastardized the Nibelheim incident with Genesis cameos.

@@SwobyJ this does mean that Sephiroth always knew what his mother looks like but due to Hojo he was conditioned to believe she was Jenova when she is some else entirely. I suspect we may get more details that contribute to Sephiroth's eventually fall to madness.

Hojo has no ounce of humanity. He's the true villain of ff7. Didn't even think that his wife was worthy of her real name.

ya ppl freaking out. young seph is in the making of hero. which adult seph eventually delivers and became one... until that sad day at clouds hometown.... shinra is scummy tho. seph never wanted that life.

One noticable change: if Sephiroth went out of his way to kill president Shinra, imagine what he'd do to Hojo if he knew he was his daddy 💀

Sephiroth's fall takes place years after that happens.

Well yeah, When sephiroth found out a truth about what shinra did to Sephiroth mother, that what cause Sephiroth turn into a villian and burn Cloud Hometown, all because of Sephiroth learn a truth

Glenn apparently has a short term memory, cause years later when Sephiroth is about 23 years od age, Glenn challenges him to a fight and here he says he will kick Sephiroth's ass if he whistles again seemingly forgetting what Sephiroth did to those enemy soldiers and what he does to four behemoths in wutai years later....

It's because he was indoctrinated by Shinra into doing so. Not everything is his fault. He was trained from birth into becoming a ruthless killing machine by a corrupt mega corporation. Of course he would blindly follow their orders. He didn't know any better. I feel really bad for the Rhadorans too but I blame it all on Shinra's manipulations.

Because that is Shinra’s campaign, and the writers are presenting Sephiroth in this story as a conditioned child soldier that openly says he doesn’t want any of it. He is about 13-14 here-a puppet for a disgusting, imperialist organization that is gladly wiping out a race of people for their own gain and LYING about their own favorite child soldier being their warrior hero before he even steps onto his first battlefield. This miserable, brainwashed kid that was raised by that very company and people like Hojo is just going to be confused and follow orders because he has to. He can’t just leave either. He has no family, and we have seen what happens to traitors like Genesis, Angeal, Zack, and other deserters-Shinra hunts them down. Their super soldier golden child would be the last person they let leave freely. He is their attack dog. So you see, knowing all this, and then seeing Sephiroth say stuff like he wants to live a normal life, find his mother, or say that he doesn’t want to be a “hero” (Shinra’s definition of a hero, which is a genocidal conquest leader), or that he never wanted to be a “cyborg,” (that is, a modified human), is all very sympathetic. The story is trying to tug on your heartstrings with the little guy, and that’s on purpose. The devs kept saying we didn’t know Sephiroth and that this is a story about him when he was pure. The FF7 fandom has seen him as only a cold villain for years, but now we are seeing who he was before, which is basically a lost kid with horrible caretakers. He also is very conditioned in his soldier speak, but his words to Glenn about “kill or be killed” ring true for him because what else is he supposed to do? He was dropped on an island full of people trying to kill him because Shinra is their rightful enemy. He can’t stop and talk to them. He is under orders to wipe them out after being trained for it his whole life. If he fails, they will kill him if Shinra doesn’t get him in line first. He is screwed either way. And yes, it sucks for the Rhadorans. None of this is fair. It’s awful. But Seph may end up being compassionate like Glenn said, and maybe he will protect Rosen. We don’t know, but this story will probably show us why he questions Shinra later as an adult. He considers abandoning them in Crisis Core….right before Nibelheim…so… I mean, bro he killed KIDS in this story already but they were OTHER kids… His own damn peers…who were shooting at him and actually wounded him. None of this is fair at ALL. He is a child. He should NOT be in a war to begin with and doesn’t want to be….but who raised him to be there? Shinraaaaa. Always remember the real enemy that FF7 wants us to see, my friend.
