i remember vividly actually. i had a radio and it was late at night. i was struggling to sleep as always and remember being mesmerized by fireflies by owl city. something about the electronic sounds, ear grabbing melodies, and immaculate atmosphere it grabbed me. i genuinely think it was the first thing i ever loved. until that point it was a lot of “oh this is good because people like it” but it was really the first piece of art i ever personally connected to. while the memories r admittedly fading now of course ill always remember how excited i was the next morning, desperately trying to get my parents to recognize the song, singing all i could remember.

shiiit idk, propably something that my parents played when i was a child. literally could be The Beatles, Chuck Berry or Volodya Vysotsky. i dont know. but the first song that i seeked out for myself because it was so fucking great was "Rewrite" by Asian Kung Fu Generation. specifically the cut that made the 4th Fullmetal Alchemist opening. i think.. i really liked that show as a kid.

in the end by linkin park for me, heard it in an avatar amv and looked into it, that music video will always be burned into my brain and can sing/rap that song even today because I watched that music video so many times XD

Yes, AMVs! This unlocked a core memory haha. I remember one with A Place For My Head. We had a couple on our phones (cuz data was to expensive) and we used to watch them over and over

While i cant say exactly whats the first songs i liked i can narrow down to 3 specific ones 1.Chernyy Bumer by Seryoga 2.Dragostea Din Tei by O-Zone 3.Scatman by Scatman John Its probably apparent im a 2000s kid from these songs.

I'm not familiar with the first one, but the other two are bangers 👍🏻 I remember hearing Scatman for the first time in some Martin Lawrence movie. Very fun song!

first songs that i remember liking as a kid were: 1. cow with guns by Dana Lyons 2. asshole by Denis Leary 3. sunscreen by baz luhrmannz my dad would play this on trips when i was a young as 4.

@@notepadGM I was curious what came out in 97’ I’d have been 4 years old then, found a top 100 list. The songs definitely resonate with me but I don’t think anything really impressed me the way 3 doors down did. However i remember before I heard them I remember my grandparents playing classical music along with CCR and jimmy buffet
