haha....listening to one of my favorite songs of my youth of high school -in 2022, amazing still. One of my favorite versions, it just takes you away ! :) somewhere good and real !!
2024 and I still love this song- for me as a young lad taking the steam train from Grays to London- so many memories- who is the woman on the train 🚂 I never found her!!
One of their best live songs…the Fixx are one of the best bands of the 80’s that continues to record and perform! God Bless them for their song Camphor! ✨
GREAT tune !!....from the under appreciated "Phantoms" LP. I had the vinyl disc back in '84....was able to locate the CD today on line after much searching !!.... Vive Le Fixx !!.......
The Fixx is one of my all time favorite bands...I've seen them at least 6 times in concert....a few in some pretty small venues....those were the best ones. I wish they would come back to Salt Lake City, Utah, again!
These guys are absolutely sublime live. If you care about music at all, see them when they come through your area, or take a road trip to go see them. They won't be touring forever, and life is short. This is one of the things everybody should see at least once.
Saw them twice. October 1983 Florida citrus bowl. They were on tour with the police. Then again in November 1984 at the Bob car theater also in Orlando. All the original band members too...
Great, great memories with this song. This song, "Wish", and "Lose Face" are my favorites from the Phantoms Album. This wonderful music brings me back to senior year in high school. Great memories!!!
Thank you dear Stevie Dove for this discovery. Divine synergy sonorous vocals Cy Curnin, guitars sound, keyboard and outstanding rhythm of drum. Swirls me beyond the orbit of Mars. Braviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii The Fixx! ~
I was into the Fixx pretty young, before I ever heard Pink Floyd, but when I got the 1977 _Animals_ album, I was like, "Whoa, this sounds quite a bit like the Fixx". Which is probably backwards. "Dogs" probably has the weirdest guitar chords of Pink Floyd's career, but the Fixx were tossing out cool weird chords whenever they wanted, and Jamie West-Oram's guitar always sounded unique! This song kinda reminds me of the intro to "Sheep", just its intro, not the rest of the song. Of course I only mean that as a compliment. Also, Cy's looking pretty badass! Not the skinny lad from the "Red Skies" video anymore! And Jamie looks not a DAY aged. They sound great, but I would expect nothing less.
You do know the Fixx formed in 1979? It doesn't mean you couldn't have bought the Pink Floyd Animals album years later, in any case, both bands are in my top ten...Floyd at Number One.
Seattle 1983, Reach The Beach Tour…. Brought the tour t-shirt. Their new release Every Five Seconds is golden! All 5 guys are together snd sound like….. THE FIXX! Cy’s voice is still on point!
The Fixx...never sold out to the corporate hacks....never sold out football stadiums...can fill small clubs and play with such immense power that it blows away any of the competition who play the larger venues
If you ever see this Cy, you may remember me from Battersea, aswell as Sue from Talk of the Town. We are talking 1980. Dave Arden ate his words. Always glad to see and hear a success story. Stay good and well. Margarethe
WOW this gig must have totally ROCKED! The more songs I listen to on RU-vid from this gig the better the gig seems to get. You just wanna get the Coruba Rum out and start pouring...on the rocks of course! One could even crack up a little wee hoota and 'pass the dutchie from the left had side'! THE FIXX are simply unique.
Probably one of the most underrated bands ever. Licks and style-components still are heard massively nowadays ... but they, themselves, went nowhere except oblivion.
Just saw them do this in Delaware on 8/02. First time I saw them do it live. I loved the arrangement they give it live. Mesmerizing in the beginning. Very good rock and roll band.
The poly-rhythm of the guitar against the drums creates a a great vibe. A rare drum signature for the Fixx, and it's played on so innovatively, I love it.
Yes I thought of us we're just on a train passing through but her son was very is very special and yeah she's laughing at whatever kept you down and she's so glad that you're being set free she's a woman on a train
WoW! Best audio so far... Love this one...sounds great! THX. (Just for fun though? Did you catch the drummer's 'flub-up', @ 3:36 in the video?) HA!!!! Oh, it's a good one! lol. But their performance of this song, was so perfect, it didn't even matter! :)
SO cool to see Cy enjoying the great riff, completely different riff to the original from Jamie W-O at 2:10, real musicianship, and what a great version!
Pictures chase across the ceiling As I try to sleep at night There's a voice inside my darkness Laughing at the life I've lost She's no girl on pills in limbo She's a woman on a train
I agree. They were/are a brilliant band. I never hear any of their stuff on radio - but then what do you expect from the idiots that rule the air waves??
