Robin sings this with so much passion. The way he accents select words with a little more feeling than others. We can tell this means a lot to him or is telling the audience how meaningful it is.
I lost mine 4 years ago.. this is the first song I heard after his death that sent me over the edge 💔❤ I played it 1 mil times to process and it helped. I can play it without completely losing it now.
There’s some music that is still performing. Take MetallicA..they’re got a new album out called 72 seasons. One song I’ve heard to do with love is Inamorata. Highly recommend you listen to it.
Truly One Greatest hit song, never get tired listen to it. Listen over and over again did buy cds have this cd and many others cds . Awesome Band Cheap Trick. Two thumbs up 👍 👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is a beautiful love song and I’m a big fan of these guys we had this song played at my wedding ♥️and I seen them in concert a year later for our anniversary ❤my husband passed away 9 years ago and I play this song because it has beautiful memories
My best friend of over 25 years passed away just before this song came out. This describes our friendship.Always think of him when I hear this.Thank you Cheap Trick for fond memories.Your more than just a rock band.
I saw them in Atlanta around 1980 or 81, they were amazing ! So thankful I grew up back when music was just outstanding , and it didn’t cost a mortgage payment to go to a concert !
Yeah but every ten years the target group moves, and the front men from the 90s are all dead. Not all but more than one would think would have been gone. The loss of Criss Cornell told me live rock will not last as long as it should have.
He is adorable! I miss the early 80's, times were bbqs, blasting Cheap Trick, Boston, Journey, now everything is stress! People are angry and want to be mean and cruel! Love Robin Zander! ❤
@@animeshowtv3351 I'm Filipino and I can even say that Arnel Pineda is a pretty good singer, BUT he cannot touch Robin Zander. I mean Pineda has range of course, but he lacks a lot. Maybe it's the accent he can't 100% shake when he sings? Not sure. But you can tell he's trying too hard to sound like Robin when he sings. Trying to sound like him is fine but the point is you can tell he's clearly trying so hard when he sings this song.
Best song ever ROBIN ZANDER. , SUCH PASSION AND PERFECTION , THIS SONG MEANT SOMETHING TO YOU, THERE WAS SO MUCH PASSION IN your voice, your vocals were off the chart! Unbelievable!!! You should be extremely proud of yourself !!!I I listen to it over and over and there is not one single thing wrong with this song! It is pure perfection ! You are one lucky guy!
This song just gets to me ~ and the emotion that Robin sings it with ~ especially at 2:59 and 4:24, when he sings "You'll always be the one" ~ he obviously has that eternal flame for someone ~ that aching feeling ~ because only when you've had someone captivate you that deeply ~ can you know that aching desire to hold them again!!
@@gregb6888 not to the kids who love it. Everything I listened to as a kid my parents said was pure noise and would be forgotten in a week. Most people have heard of Zepplin, Aerosmith, skynyrd, Almond Brothers, The Who and cheap trick. They felt the same way about our music as you now feel about the kids music today. It was written for you so you probably dont get it and they dont care if you get it. They prefer you dont because it's their music just as this was ours. Music is driven by the kids and they know what they like just as you did even though your parents said it was noise.
@@azznbad1 you're absolutely right - it's a generational thing. Seldom does one generation favor another's music. Each thinks their music is the best, and to all of us, it is.
This song means a lot to me because every time I hear it I think of my son that passed away Jimmy. This was one of his favorite songs at the time and every time I hear it it brings back memories. Rest in peace Jimmy you are forever in my heart along with your brother Michael who died also. This was their time, now it's mine. Amen ❤️❤️🌹🌹 🔥 You are forever in my heart.
As a ''power ballad''this was a great song, but ,this version takes the song to another level.Robin Zander sings it as if its the last time and he has to give everything he has.
My father would sing this to me when he was alive; lost him at seven years of age; Hed play his 12 string guitar as he had me sit on a kids' chair; much respect..
Actually.....rumor has it CT doesn’t like this song because they didn’t write it and the record company made them do it. They thought it sounded like “Nature’s Way” by Spirit. I don’t agree. Great power ballad.
Still does, ive sing this song performed live twice and both times i swear where special moments in rock history..one of those moments you say ...WOW THIS WILL BE TALKED ABOUT IN 50 YEARS
Such a clean pure sound performance, no high production, the music is so pure, and Zander sounds incredible. This was my favorite of cheap trick songs, such a heart breaking tribute to a first love, and you never do forget your first💔🤫
Was asked to dance to this song with a young handsome man in 1987, this Song had just came out, little did I know on that dance floor, He would become my husband and Father of my children, 💕Thank you Robin for that beautiful Song that started everything...Loved your music then, love it Still....♥️♥️
oh man...i felt that in my soul...one of the 1st mtv videos i watched when i was a kid ..then to roller skate to this song couples only. ..u can listen to 80s music but it's one thing to live through it.
I remember when my marriage broke up after this song came out and I cried for MONTHS over the words to this. This is one of the BEST performances of this song. Robin, and Rich, Tom, I remember seeing you a many times and thinking how damn lucky ANY woman in your lives would be to share this road with you. The highs, the lows, the laughter, the tears. I'm so happy all of you found those amazing women who keep your lives grounded when so many others got lost on their way to stardom. Makes me thankful you're ALL still here and most of all, you are all so happy!
After all these years love this song it gives me goosebumps all over my body still listening this 16th day of september 2022 we are all legends listening tho this song
Great song great band. Remember this back then rock band singers could sing and had well written songs and they actually sang them...............The end of the true singers for the most part
Vince, they're in the R&RHOF. I'd say they were underrated until they got in like 5 ish years ago. Well deserved recognition. Incredibly talented musicians 😎
Agreed. I’ve seen several covers and some get high praise and many thumbs up and when I hear them I’m like “Really??” All these people kissing their asses like theyre better than Robin. Idiots. So many people cheat vocally by falsetto-ing or dropping the key waaaaaaaaay too low. It never sounds right unless it’s robin.
Would slide into a Beatles harmony without skipping a beat! I saw Cheap Trick live in Australia & this guy did not miss a note! Exceptional singer! His tone is silk!
My heart is broken for the loss of my grandson this week June 15,2021 and my flame will be burning for him to the end of time. I love this beautiful song that tells how I feel.🎶
I'm so glad I found this song and this particular performance at the beginning of 2020. This song was before my time but it has become one of my all-time favorite songs and the performance is one of the greatest examples I've ever seen of humans in a flow state. I've watched this dozens of times and still get caught up in the timeless flow every single time. Absolutely amazing!
The deepest Heart-felt soul that wrote and sings this genuine valued musicsl purest wonderment is the way I feel inside of my first and only true Love ever, still to this day...so hard to explain being hit by lightning; feels amazing, and takes my breathe away, while making me unsure of myself, like in my early teens, beautiful feeling in you & this song's honesty.💞🔥🙏
As someone who was a teen in the ‘80’s, this song brings back so many memories. I was driving in my car today and it came on the radio and I started recording it so could send a snippet to my best friend from high school and say “This song reminded me of you and I back in ‘the day’ and all the good times.” After the song went off, I decided to pull it up on RU-vid and see if I found a live performance. From the first note played by this unbelievable, ever-understated band, til the very last note……not even addressing “THE NOTE,” that Ronin NAILED at the end, the only word I can use to describe this performance is stunning! I was absolutely dissolved to tears that came from the large spectrum of emotion I felt as I watched a performance of live perfection. I felt love and warmth and sadness and heartbreak and loss and then when he hits “the note,” I felt pride and victory and triumph for him and I smiled at that smirk of accomplishment that came upon Robin’s face! Truly remarkable……A lot of words for someone rendered speechless, I know, but absolutely deserving of these words and many, many more. Thank you for your music…..your gift to us. It is not ever less than treasured.
Saw these guys back in Columbus Ohio in the 80s, way surprise concert, they blew us away.. we didn’t expect it. Got a new found respect for Cheap Trick, Rock on! Robin Zander hit every note dead on.
