I put together 3 discs worth of best of the 90s, and it destroys this. and that's without any soundgarden, STP or that one band that's highly overrated. 45 songs or so songs, by 45 different artists.
Super creative, videos were forced to find interesting ways to make out of box videos.The budget limitations made them come up with really cool ideas.music videos were a unique medium and people really pushed the limits of it.
I cannot believe I let this song get away from me! The 90's feels like a lost decade to me. It was a decade filled with deep personal loss for me. I was music like this that kept me from loosing my mind. It help me move through the sadness . It has a dark quality I find healing

This song was playing while i was on mushrooms, i wrote the lyrics on my jeans in whiteout then coloured them in rainbow. It seemed right at the time. I still have those jeans, even though they don't fit anymore. I fucking love this song.
Had this tune stuck in the back of my head for 27 years, 1995 , holy shit, and I ve been looking, or listening for it, finally found it, couldn't remember what it was called or where to find it, back when whenever I be out Ill'n, and I was feeling good I'd hear this, technically I found it 4 days ago and the first 20 second makes my brain tingle.

Every time I watch or hear this it reminds me of the death of MTV, this was right around the time when they started to show more and more reality shows and less and less music. Still pisses me off they went away from what made them great.

Saw these guys at Smith's Olde Bar in ATL. Fantastic live set. After the show, got a kiss on the cheek from Lou Barlow that made my 23 year old self weak in the knees. Such a lovely memory. 💖

You may be getting the nine inch nail song "HURT" mixed up with this song because if my memory serves me well I'm thinking HURT was only slow throttled song NIN made there may have been a few more but not popular like HURT I remember when Johnny Cash remade the song into his in a music video before he died he was very old in video it was sad all together really.
Same... My buddy and I were talking about various Lou Barlow work and he did not know of Folk Implosion. Went to Spotify to get this one for him, and nowhere. Even on the Kids soundtrack it's Natural One "in the style of Folk Implosion". Strange
Weird and good indeed. Lou Barlow deserves so much more cred for having been in this band on top of Dino and Sebadoh! It just speaks to how dynamic and talented he was without selling out his own sound or style. I was a huge Sebadoh fan in the 90s and Folk Implosion definitely expanded my musical horizons beyond typical indie rock.

Personally I kind of like the gritty sound of it. This is how it sounded coming out of my radio back in high school, when music was evolving into something raw and amazing. Thanks for uploading it!

Me too. I graduated high school in 91 so from 91 until 95 / 96 I really enjoyed coming home from work and watching some MTV until all the bullshit started to take over. Once 97 to 99 hit the world doesn't feel the same at all to me. I don't think anything will ever touch the 80's and 90's with how cool things were back then.
I remember this video from when we'd recently gotten cable and M.T.V. was an exciting novelty. I remember getting up on a day without school and watching hours of music videos while keeping a mental tally of how many were good or bad. I forgot this song but the video stayed in my head all these years and tonight I managed to track it down.

I heard it in a show called Brand New Cherry Flavor on Netflix. My son asked who it was. I said, I'm not sure it was in a movie called Kids in the '90s. I remembered hearing it on the radio and it was just weird enough for me to dig it. It reminded me of 120 minutes or Alternative Nation. Yeah, great song!

I graduated high schoolin '87. Wow there used to be such a variety of artists and fresh music. Whether it was Van Halen or C+C Music Factory, there was a lil something for everyone. Now, there's shit. No creativity. No music. No concerts. I feel for this generation. The internet era...and all it's thievery and sharing has made the industry irrelavent.
