Great value. Better than the Hybrid IF you need to tow. XLT is the sweet spot for value. All the necessary upgrades, without the fancy leather & stuff. Good choice.
Aug 2nd. The Hybrid is actually probably a more reliable engine & has a longer warranty. The Hybrid is cheaper & therefore will hold it's value better. Go Ecoboost If you need the extra power, are towing, Or not worried as much about MPG's (drive few miles)
Once the chip shortage is over they’ll be selling well over 100k of these per year. In ten years the Maverick will be worth less than $10k. Companies are making huge fleet orders, no way it will hold value.
I wasn't looking for a new vehicle. I was never a Ford buyer. I only found out about the Maverick Hybrid on October 7th, 2021. On October 9th I was at a local dealer ordering a XLT Hybrid in Alto Blue. I hope I get it someday........ If you live in snow country, and want to keep the vehicle in good condition over many years, better think about rust proofing it. And a correction, the hybrid component warranty is 8 years or 100,000 miles.
Maverick or Mercedes, if your Turo renter kills someone and the ambulance chasing lawyers come after you for $1 mill more than Turo's policy limit, you could lose your house. No thanks.
Turo is definitely Not for everyone, but there is actually a law that protects you from getting sued for just owning the vehicle. If it's still a concern, a personal liability insurance policy is very inexpensive. There are several other better reasons not to do Turo, especially if you only have 2-3 vehicles since your risk would be very low. A fleet of 15-30 or more cars & the chances of a weird lawsuit go up.
@@andrewhamilton2078 personal liability policies almost always exclude business use so that won't cover you. What law? The gov somehow excluding private rental transactions would mean no one has liability when renting their house on AirB&B.
@@JamesD-HB It's called the "Graves Ammendment" passed in 2005. I have been Hosting on Turo for over 5 yrs. I am active in several Facebook Groups Totalling over 75K other Hosts. There is close 200K active Turo Hosts. I am in close contact with many hosts renting between 50 to over 300 cars even in high Risk cities & have never heard of 1 instance where someone injured succeeded in sueing a Host Not driving the vehicle. Several have tried, but it always gets thrown out. The first time it happens, Turo will cease to exist. Again, there are lots of reasons Not to do Turo, but in a high Inflation world where a regular job doesn't always pay the bills, Turo is a great side hustle & supplement income for many people especially those that love cars like myself.
Most insurance even commercial insurance excludes car rentals. Injury attorneys usually name everyone they can and use whatever law that sticks. Saying it has never happened is like saying you don't wear a seat belt because you have not been in a bad accident. Good luck.
The only problem with the Mav is, its going to be everywhere in a couple of years. So, that might impact the resale but nevertheless it will still be great.
It will take 3-5 yrs but without another compact truck that gets High mpg's it won't matter. Civics & Corolla's are everywhere but hold their value extremely well. I think Maverick's will be the same.
I agree with you 100% but you’re wrong in the date. Orders are confirmed to open up for the 2023 MY on August 2nd. Mark your calendars folks and start calling around now to see which local dealer will give you the best deal without any mandatory addendums and such. Good content, I made sure to subscribe!
@@andrewhamilton2078 no, for new 2023 reservations. Fords Maverick Marketing team came out verifying that the 2nd would be the day that reservations open up. It’s all over the Maverick groups as well.
