Can I afford to buy one of these trucks, yup….however, I refuse to participate in this nonsense. I can’t be the only person that believes 100k or more, out the door, for a pickup truck is nuts.

Totally agree. But some people don’t care and want the latest greatest thing regardless of cost. And other people want them bc they want to show off even if they can’t afford it. Trucks are becoming like luxury cars in my opinion don’t get me wrong I like the features and comfort of them but something has got to give with these prices.

People might as well get used to the prices. Unless you have zero need for a new truck or car that cost 70k plus... prices will not go down. They will only go up. Remember Supply and Demand? If the sales drop. They will limit supply to keep prices steady. Because there is enough businesses, govt, farmers, etc.. that HAVE to buy trucks to do the job. Which means they will have to buy new at some point.

You`re right JB Ford is making a ton of money on those cheap options. The black package cost less to manufacture than the base chrome ones because it costs more to chrome a piece of metal than to paint it black. I like the black grill for one but there is no paint at all on that grill it's just the way it comes out of the plastic mold. I have a 2022 F-250 XLT crew cab with the base diesel engine plus the camera package and the luxury package with one electric seat instead of 2 you get on a Lariat. I paid 78850$ Canadian for that truck in 2021. Now the same truck in 2024 is 998504$ Canadian, COVID-19 and inflation and greed did that. In a few years, nobody will be able to buy anything anymore! I like the power deployable running boards but you always see riding around with in the down position. I’m Assuming they’re broke. I wouldn’t want them bc of that.

Remove the $10k plus diesel and then just get, depending upon your needs, a F250, xl, stx off road pkg, 6.8L V8, and maybe throw in a spray in bed liner, your out the door for just over $61k, plus I’d go for the 8’ foot bed and 48 gallon tank max towing package also and I’m set!

These packages exist so the dealer can order stock with options that bump the overall sale price up. Just try and find a base XL Superduty on a dealer lot. If you do, 10-to-1 it will be white and lack some common sense options. IMO, XL without chrome or options can be configured to look good, non-flashy but purposeful. If the truck prices weren't crazy enough, the insurance hikes are an eye opener as well.

So, it looks to me that the $550 discount on the Lariat Ultimate Pkg is subtracted when you add the Sport or BAP pkg’s and it’s exactly the difference between the Power running boards $995 and the Platform running boards $445. Thanks for pointing this out, it was on my list of questions for the dealer. And agreed the blacked out pkg’s should be less as chroming cost more than painting.

If you want a xlt with the premium package it always includes paying for the sport package. They will not let you order premium without sport.

Very good video. I agree that you should be able to order whatever style running boards you want, especially when you are paying this much for a truck. You mentioned that Ford is discontinuing the Limited package on the Super Duty. Do you know if that interior will still be available (Admiral Blue/Slate)?

Deliberate move by Ford. They know most buyers don't want chrome or the awful looking standard wheels. They know most will pay a lot more for an appearance package that really should be standard. It's essentially all profit for them, because like you said, they're just swapping out interchangeable parts anyway.

I'm going with any package that has painted everything. CHROME on fords truck bumpers are terrible... it looks like your looking into a keliadoscope... blurry.. no reflection
