The only thing being ripped off here is your d1ck and baIIs, because you sound like a little girl complaining about how he supposedly “ripped off” another persons video word for word which isn’t true. Ur here calling him a loser when you’re the one going out of your way to make a retarded comment, probably because you know he has more subs than you ever will, get a life
Don't forget the Jakks Pacific plug and play MK1. It's a nice and uniqe port with good gameplay, all the blood and gore and complete sounds, better than all the other 16bit versions of MK1 imo.
@@FreddPhucks yea, I still own it. It's much more complete than the Sega port, with all samples, more gore (the dead bodies at the bottom of the pit as well), details and the arcade ending! But it's missing parallax scrolling and shadows (that's not so bad!)...
I had an Amiga, so I played that version of MK1. Except for the loading times, I liked it. I only had a one-button joystick, but I found it fairly easy to pull off the special moves and fatalities. Unlike fighting games on other systems. "To throw a fireball, just roll the stick in a 3/4 circle toward the opponent while pressing HP+HK+MP, wait 1/2 a second, then press LP+Lk+MP." Oh yeah, couldn't be simpler...
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the SNES as well as DKC 3 were my christmas presents to myself of 96 (both came out in Dec were I am), I loved playing every second of my poor-teens answer to MK Trilogy👌
Mortal Kombat for SegaCD was simply outstanding for the time but, by the time it was released MK 2 was a massive hit most people never went back to the Original but, it’s a essential SegaCD game (In the internet/social media age people tend to knock both the Sega CD and 32X but, there was also a lot of good on both add-one imo (Sega in general dropped the ball with both add-one) which had a lasting negative effect from then on….. 👍👍👍
I think the most trivial thing is to have every port of the first Mortal Kombat games in emulators. I had a dozen different flavors of Mortal Kombat on a Raspberry Pi B plus.
Very informative, when I was little I played MK1 and 3 through MS-DOS, and those were excellent ports. Also MK4 got ported to the Dreamcast, loved that one too
I don’t understand the hate for MK Gold, it was a direct upgrade to MK 4 that far exceeded the graphics and frame rate of the Arcade system, had more characters, stages, more customizable cheats, just overall much more better than MK 4 in general. I guess people are going hate on things regardless…
The thing about the MIDI soundtrack on the DOS version of MK2 is that it sounds very different depending on what you play it back on. If you're using the default AdLib rendition on a Sound Blaster then yeah, it'll sound very tinny and weak. It's how most people would've experienced it back in the day and it's why MIDI tends to have such a bad reputation. However if you use a good General MIDI synthesizer like a Roland Sound Canvas which MK2 supports, then the MIDI soundtrack really comes alive and starts sounding very close to arcade quality. DOSBox does support Sound Canvas emulation, so although it requires a bit of configuration fiddling, you can get some really good music out of MK2 with it.
The pit 3 and the rooftop are in the SNES version of UMK3 but you see it only when fighting Shao Khan and Motaro. In 2 player mode they're normal backgrounds, they even included the pit 3 fatality. SNES has 7 and Megadrive has 11 backgrounds.
*the pit 3 fatality is only possible in two player mode - bc with one player, Shao Kahn is the only opponent you'll encount on pit 3 and you can't do a fatality on him...
man, i love some of these obsure ports; eg mk gold for the dreamcast, mkt on pc and sega saturn, mk2 on the ps2 (not midway collection, hidden unlockable for shaolin monks!) umk3 for ios 4, umk3 ds, umk3 for java, mk1 to the tiger electronics lcd, don’t love that one lmao
I have never played it, but I have been reading over and over that in UMK3 for Sega Saturn Shang Tsung can morph into Cyber Smoke, something that couldn't be done in the arcade. Can anyone confirm if this is true?
UMK3 port for the SNES (and maybe for the Genesis too) was actually the same MK3 port. That's why they reused sprites like Sonya friendship or Kitana using Kabal's fatality. You can choose "accidentally" Sheeva using stealth and random select because only her sprites were erased. Most notably you can still use the code for unlocking Robot Smoke at the start of the game and it will work (showing Smoke entering the screen) even when Smoke is now playable from the get go.
As a kid I had MK2 for both the PC and my SNES. Another kid said that the PC version is much better but I never understood why he thought so. I found the SNES version to be just as good as the DOS version but that could be because my eye was not distinguished enough to notice the differences.
Amiga's version of MK2 do had a lot of loading because of 1MB of RAM most of people had. On 2MB Amiga's some additional stuff is pre-loaded into RAM so fatalities are no longer loaded, some additional voices are present and effects like smoke coming out of opponent hit by fireball. The game supports Amigas with expanded RAM, so if you have enough to load all disks into RAM, it will do it.
Nice vid but could've done with you playing the different soundtracks after you'd talked about them. Edit: You did it on the Master System version which was good.
Saturn Umk3 released a bit earlier than umk3 16-bit. The 16bit port released along with trilogy for PS3 and N64. Saturn UMK3 had a few superior differences over trilogy and is the only "Arcade" style version. I own all of these versions outside of the Amiga. Bought them all back in the day. The Saturn version of umk3 is the best port of any of the arcade ports in the 90s.
Yes the Saturn port of UMK3 is the only home version of the original arcade port in 90s before there are Nintendo DS, Xbox360, PS2's MK Armageddon Premium Edition and MAME arcade emulator.
@@System_Sega it did. It was a port of the PS1. It looks a little worse than UMK3. A shame, seeing how well Saturn handled 2D games. But MK Trilogy was made for PS1 then ported to Saturn and PC. N64 is it's own animal
The background graphics in the Sega Master System version of Mortal Kombat 3 look like blocky pixelated garbage (or just an almost empty void) compared to the background graphics in the Master System port of Mortal Kombat 2. I mean, I think the Master System port of MK2 only had three different backgrounds but they all look decent considering the obvious graphical limitations of the console.
I really wished that Sega of America weren't run by idiots at the time the Saturn version was out (F U Bernie Stolar.) Otherwise we might see that version of Ultimate MK3 take advantage of the 4MB RAM cart that was used for X-Men vs. Street Fighter among other good Capcom and SNK fighters. Would easily help with the Shang Tsung loading time issues.
xbox 360 had a port of UMK3 but the devs lost the license so it has not been updated and you cant buy it anymore if you didnt when it first got released.
At least Calvin was smart enough to not make shitty handheld ports of Street Fighter 2. The Gameboy color had the first handheld Street Fighter game, and it was actually quite good
I meant to say that the ms-dos port is the best home computer port and the sega cd is the best home console port. Personally I would say that the ms-dos port is the best version on mortal kombat 1
I wish I bought the CD ROM DOS version back in the day when I saw it in stores. Since the back screenshots resembled the SNES game, I was afraid it didn't have the fatalities in it. I remember playing a demo of the DOS version of Super Street Fighter 2, and it looked amazing, even though my PC was slow to run it at the time. As far as UMK3 on Saturn, that was PHENOMINAL. That was the reason I bought the Saturn back in the day. Still love that version. So good. That was the game that made me go, "Holy shit, home games can be just like arcade games now!" 16 bit versions of UMK3 were total crap. Hate them. Regular MK3 on SNES was great, but UMK3 was a total cash grab.
I remember someone else joking that the 16-bit ports of UMK3 were essentially consolation prizes for people who didn't have a system that could play Trilogy.
@@fishactivation5087 I honestly refuse to buy the game on SNES or Genesis to add to my collection. The game insults me too much. Whats funny is I actually played the SNES MK3 (non Ultimate) and had almost forgotten how much i enjoyed that version and how good it is. I don't play that version much anymore with access to better versions of the game (PS1, MAME, Xbox OG, PSP).
@@greensun1334 the regular MK3 ports, absolutely. For Ultimate, I can't take it seriously due to too much cut content. If I wanted the Ultimate experience at home back then with no load times, I'd play Trilogy on N64.
Theres no such thing as " midi soundtrack". Midi is just a file format communicating with your soundcard. How the ost sounded was heavily different depending on what soundcard you had. By default windows uses a wavetable soundset for games with midi. It sounds pretty bad. You need to experience it with an eumaltion of a fm soundchip.
I like the Genesis version of MK2 because of the cheats but the sound sucks .. sound on SNES version is way better but the cheats I can never get to them
Next video, make sure you are not that close to your mic and try not to take 4 benadryls before making the video. You sound like you are about to fall asleep.
@@Rzapp06 lol r-zone is the forbidden console I see. It's quite the experience to sit in a mall with that thing strapped to your head. And yes, I did that.
watsup guys... welcome back to another video... and it looks like I'm tired... yet another video... come on, guys... just look at these ports... okay, guys...
you have forgotten also The Sega Saturn version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Please tell us about it mate in comparison with MKT of N64 and PS1. I respect your opinions. I'm waiting for an answer please 😌😌
