The sly Cooper trilogy was MY childhood.. you guys may have had mario but man I was SO into that franchise. It's great to go back to it and realize it was actually GREAT too. Special stuff.
Seriously. When assassins creed came out and I started playing I was like "oo I've done this many time before." When they did black flag I laughed that sly 3 did pirates so fkn good
The first Jak & Daxter's development story is so charming. Hell bent to make something expressive and lively with anime influence is just an appealing concept to me. This and Sly Cooper's whole aesthetic make me sad Sony doesnt focus on these kinda experiences anymore
There's simple explanations for all of these. JaD was put to the side because ND wasn't interested anymore/couldn't figure out what to do with the IP, SP felt Sly 3 was a great way to end Sly's story (the series had middling sales anyway) so they made a new IP, inFamous wrapped up Cole's story by 2 so second son introduced a new character with a time skip but it turns out SP got bored with that IP too and shifted. Resistance was *supposed* to continue but Sony didn't want to many post apocalyptic games at the time so 4 was scrapped but at least 3 was definitely a damn good send-off for the trilogy (it'll even be the last game I finish before I consider selling my PS3). Lastly for KillZone it was due to Guerilla also wanting to try something new and when Zero Dawn was far more successful than any KillZone game they never looked back. Btw don't expect RaC to stick around past this generation because as soon as they fulfill what they started 15+ years ago with the lombaxes there's absolutely no good reason why Insomniac would continue it; they already pushed all the hardware gimmicks and the series is still stuck selling on average around 2 to 3+ million a game lifetime every console gen (2016 is the only exception to this).
Alot of franchises started and ended on PS3, but the most fond to me was Motorstorm franchise, this was one of the best arcade racing games of that time

Infamous 2 is my favourite game of All time and second son wasn't far behind so I'm praying that sucker punch hasn't forgotten there roots and come back to the franchise and make a new one or hell even a remaster or reboot just something because ghost of tsushima was really average imo
Ps3 controller is fine. I've got longer fingers, and im good. Also Resistance isnt bad, its not me advertising it when i say Insomniac wanted to just do that game since they started. Never forget their first PS1 game was a Doom clone.
I feel like you were a bit too harsh on the modern exclusives cause they're not trying to be nintendo with colourful plattformers, that being said i'm getting bored of open world games and I got horizion forbidden west for free with my console and felt insulted (just give me elden ring its so much better)
@@TerrorOfTalos yeah you also got a good point. Sony said it was to show variety but they should’ve said that beforehand bc we expected something like the PS Showcase from a couple years ago. Sony needs to decide the difference between state of play and showcase soon
Despite being a former Halo fanboy, I enjoyed Killzone and Resistance as well. I'm glad their done, Sony would probably ruin them like Microsoft/343I did to Halo. Live Service garbage versions of Killzone or Resistance, the horror. At least Killzone Liberation was recently released on PS4/PS5. I hope Resistance Retribution and Killzone Mercenary are next.
LITTLE BIG PLANET SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMADE. RESISTANCE AND KILLZONE SHOULD BE AT THE FOREFRONT OF MULTIPLAYER FPS GAMES. NAUGHTY DOG AND SUCKER PUNCH NEED TO LET OTHER PLAYSTATION OWNED STUDIOS MAKE JAK AND SLY GAMES. IT IS RIDICULOUS.
Joel wasn't Ellie's father. And if he was "grumpy" he still didn't deserve what happened to him that was the definition of terrible writing. Kratos is however over glorified and is now the king of the video game industry just because David Jaffe knows how to treat his male characters right unlike Neil beta cuck Druckmann. The Last Of Us gets buried deep in the ground while God Of War is revived from the dead and is here to stay. On one hand I'm happy for the fans of God Of War series but on the other I'm sad for The Last Of Us franchise and those who anticipated the sequel. And I agree Jak & Dexter is amazing I'm currently playing it on my PS5. Sly & Cooper is an underappreciated legendary nostalgic franchise I remember playing it on PS2 it was good and fun. Ratchet & Clank is a classic. Tekken & Street Fighter. All good memories.
plus unlike the other "cinematic" games, norse gow still has the pretty fast combat that the greek ones had (tho not nearly as fast with the fact that you "cinematically" jump) especially in ragnarok with its vertical levels tho I would kill for a sly cooper reboot
I remember my buddy playing Killzone 2 online at my urging him to do so and after a few hours he said something like "wow if this was on Xbox it'd be the biggest game in the world" and while it still may not have beat out Halo or COD, he was right. Killzone was absolutely shit on the PS3 controller and it was a tragedy the game stayed as somewhat of a niche kind of thing compared to the big franchises. My buddy probably never played Killzone again after that night and just stuck to cod and halo. Sad
