I like the 4th Fred movie. The one where Fred and Kevin mess up someone's hot dog stand and then get sent to a correctional in which they are sexually assaulted by Kevin Bacon, then years later find him on a diner in Hell's Kitchen and shoot him. Sleeper Fred, I think it was called.

Lucas Cruikshank is literally one of my favorite RU-vidrs, he's still so funny and his humor is pretty similar to what he showed in the OG Fred videos. The first Fred movie actually reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite and Gentleman Bronco. That weird atmosphere and awkward mood, yet it somehow works and is indescribably relatable? Where the movie feels like it takes place in 1972 and also the modern day?? Not a lot of movies can do that tbh. I think you're right in that the first Fred movie is great because it is simple. The plot to Napoleon Dynamite is simple- he wants to invite Trisha to prom and he runs for the school politics to get her attention. The plot of Gentlemen Bronco is simple- he's an awkward kid who writes long sci-fi novels and his favorite author steals his idea. It's also kinda funny and alarming that Lucas says he doesn't remember filming these movies. lol

Fred 3: Camp Fred is a cinematic classic.

Honestly the first Fred movie was an instant classic to me as a kid, but the movies (except the first) were ok but I wouldn’t watch them again after my first seeing

The first Fred Movie isn't perfect, and I say this as a man who was older than Mark is now when it came out, but it had charm. My little siblings really liked it. And it works because Fred is treated more like a Mr Bean type character. He's not in depth, he's got very little personality, but he works by bouncing off of straightmen and his world. He's a force of nature that shows up, caused havoc, and then pays for his actions. The second you get away from that is the second you destroy any charm it had.

i think an actually funny fred 2 would be fred somehow being normal. just like for no reason basically. maybe he hit his head or something. but there’s still some impulses or “old fred” ideas. and he initially tries to avoid it. but then it becomes obvious that this guy is actually a vampire. like 100% he’s actually a vampire and eats people. i think it would be funny and fred 3 should’ve started with fred getting on the wrong bus. and then the story doesn’t follow him. it’s actually a kevin story. and it would characterize him as a deep man with actual struggles. and you find out he like wants to be a poet or something

I watched the 3rd movie when it came out and a number of times through reruns after. I mustve been like, idk 7? Maybe 8? And i mostly just remember the scenes with the other kids and i think its because i thought the nerd kid w the glasses was cute but now that im older and have realized my Transgenderness it was probably a very early case of "i want his gender" amd i just didnt realize. So the 3rd movie doesnt exactly get a special place in my heart, but it at least gets a special place in my lower intenstine for that
