15:14 Jack, I’m not a collectable kind of guy God of war: checking under every single damn rock Resident evil village: shooting every single goat in sight
@@sekiro_the_one-armed_wolf the lore changed like 3 times already and a prehistoric one wouldn’t actually be that bad it would explain the architects a little better and you could see the older animals
I'm so gutted they got rid of the other story. Having an alien AI invade your brain and the relationship between Robin and Sam was really intriguing and made me want to uncover the mysteries and why Sam was so... Guarded. I was fully invested. I'm struggling with the new story. I miss the old voices, too.
After the first Subnautica quickly rising to become one of my favorite games I've ever played, I was very excited to jump into BZ, since it was just a few weeks til release when I finished the original game, and I was fiending for a similar experience. Unfortunately, the sequel could never end up measuring up to the greatness of the original for me. Preferred nearly every aspect of the original tremendously more, other than the increased performance of BZ.
I could see it as the complete destruction of two sisters already deteriorating relationship. It seems like something happened between Robin and Sam in the old story that make them cold. Like how Robin is awkwardly trying to connect or some shit and ends with Sam begging for Robin not to leave her but Robin feed up with the lies and betrayal just decided to book it and go along with Al-An.
The canonical reason the voice for the PDA is different is because the PDA isn' t made by alterra but by the Xenoworks company. Therefor the voice is different.
It might still be an Alterra PDA though. Xenoworks ends up being bought by them and I think Robin says at one point that her equipment is "borrowed". Also, her PDA and the Alterra PDAs you find throughout the game look similar.
yeah ive been watching Jack since i was like 13 now im 21. Dude is a fucking legend and i love him lol Always makes my day and cheers me up@@Landogames1983
Highlights of this episode! Trying to stay positive: 1. It’s episode one to a Subnautica let’s play by Jacksepticeye. 2. Me and a whole bunch of people said bless you to Sean when he sneezed by instinct and he said thanks. 3. “There are definitely some sandwiches I’ve had that I’d have sex with.” 4. The “Copper copper copper copper…FUCK! Copper copper copper copper…” quote. It made it’s way onto the Subnautica Reddit and blew up.
Considering the fact that Jack practically drove reapers to extinction when he played the ful release of the original Subnautica, I'm pretty sure the reapers are the ones that are scared.
I hope jack knows if he used his knife on plants (like ribbon plants) he would get seeds and he could grow them. Also you could do the same for the other subnautica
I recently started watching Jack playing video games after a long time again. Especially scary games in this time of the year. I doubt that Jack will see this but thank you for keeping us company and being funny.
Edit: I like how everyone is not smart enough to realize i'm joking. 10 million subs from one comment is basically impossible and yet no one get the joke. instead some dumbass thought i'm calling my mom a fucking kidnapper
Hey jack I just want to say, I've been going through some hard time and you have enspired me to keep pushing forward and guessing that you haven't posted in 4 months your going through a hard time and I just want to say you can do this I believe in you!! I hope you can live the rest of your life happy. 😊
Couple of non-spoiler tips as you continue: ~There's another building on the island you missed with more items to scan and more story, and there are harvestable fruits from trees in the caves on there, too! ~You can pin recipes to your hud so you don't have to keep checking the ingredients when you start building stuff. ~You can slash the little mushrooms that grow in the safe shallows around your base with your knife and they are edible. ~Creepvine clusters are also edible and give water. ~The mineral finder tool is awesomely useful. ~Subnautica is awesome, and I'm so glad you're playing it again!!
I really like the map. It lets you see how the game world is build up and gives you good direction to the main areas, but still has less info so you still need to explore alot.
@Kelvin No need to get rude, just because people's experiences are different from yours doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Family dynamics vary with time and that's okay.
In case your actually reading this Jack, I'm joking and I'm not analysing everything you say just so that I can point it out. This was just a funny observation and I get what you mean when you say that your not a collectible kind of guy. Just wanted to trow this in here.
Watching this takes me back to highschool, when the first Subnautica early access run was being done. Took a break from your content but always loved it and I think I’m back for a little bit ❤️
God I hope no one spoils the new leviathans for him I wanna have another ghost leviathan reaction x3 "theres nothing to surprise me anymor-WTF IS THAT"
@@punky_portraits i unfortunately already had the leviathans spoiled for me, but the first time i bumped into a chelicerate holy shit did that scare me The stuff you see online seriously undersells the size of it. Imma bet that the same thing will happen when he finds the shadow leviathan
Right? *Non-British actress speaks* “ew she has a stinky voice”. *Lillian Speaks* “she has a lovely voice” he just only likes British accents lol. (I have to make this edit) I’m sorry y’all didn’t understand that this was a joke. I don’t actually have any problems with Jack and I -also- didn’t like the voice actress change. I didn’t realize so many of you would be so angry with me for joking. Apologies.
@@monicatorres9548 no he does not only like the British accent but the previous voice actors had the talent to add personality to their character which Robin terribly lacks of
I beat this game blind, and hardcore when it fully came out. As I'm sure Jack will say at the end of this, it isn't as good as the original overall, but It's only like 1 step below, it's a fantastic game.
Jack the reason the PDA voice is different is because you aren't using a Alterra PDA It's a xenoworks PDA this time, you can see it on the left side where you hold it
I have been telling everyone this 😂😂😂 That’s why the voice actor for the multipurpose room is the same because it is an alterra blueprint that robin scanned
My friends and I binged this today and I almost cried when I realized you stopped playing it before the end! So much fun to drink every time you yell "glankles!" Thanks for playing this game!
@@jizou1581 "nah I'm not that interested collecting coins for Abby, it's not as cool as cards!" *found them multiple times throughout the game and gets delighted everytime*
30:47 Dude talking about his career being sabotaged by alien birds Sean, walking around cluelessly: ēmē =~= ??? *falls off cliff* AAAGhh my glankles- Ugh fuck I couldn’t fuckin see *falls off ANOTHER cliff*
*I KNEW I RECOGNIZED THAT VOICE!!!* Robin's voiced by Kimberly Brooks, the voice actress for Ashley in Mass Effect! I had the pleasure of watching her at PAX East a llllong time ago, along with the VA for Thane and the models for Kaiden and Samara. So cooooool.
Something I found is that once you build the coffee machine, the pda gives a quote saying “ ah. The sweet smell of dirty bean water.” And I freaked out.
Of all the criticisms anyone has ever had for this series, I’ll never understand how you can open a door underwater and the room doesn’t fill with water.
I’ve been watching Jack for 8+ years and seeing him play old games (even if their newer versions of the old games) is so nostalgic, it’s crazy to see how someone grew all these years and it’s honestly awsome and sad at the same time watching someone grow but it’s my favorite, he’s come so far and I’m happy for this man enjoying life and taking care of his health, love ya Jack! (Also anyone else remember booper dooper?)
Watching this series for the first time right after finishing the subnautica full game release series 4 years late (and loving it) can't wait to see what I've been missing out on! :) I was obsessed with subnautica when it first came out but stopped watching vids on it soon after the ghost leviathan came out because my life got crazy during that time. Its comforting to know after all these years I can still come back!
Planet 4546B finally seems to be back to normal in terms of its ecosystem now that, you know, *it's not being ravaged by disease.* The tiny creatures are doing tiny creature things, the medium creatures are doing medium creature things, and the Leviathans are doing Leviathan things. The planet is finally at peace. Sadly for poor Jack, he and Robyn *are caught in the middle of the ecosystem's natural existence which is establishing the peace.*
@@Joes850 Possible spoilers ahead. XenoWorks were a small company whose focus was on finding and talking to other alien lifeforms, Robin is a xenolinguist who hates Alterra. XenoWorks was about to go bust and then Alterra bought them but Robin refused to upgrade PDA because she hates Alterra
@@vshatriya5254 yeah, but she's dead. So while she *is* in the game, she's not as much of a main character as she was in an earlier version of the game.
Jack: I wish there was a farming system, like I can’t remember if the first game had one. *not me farming gel sacks to feed my bioreactor in the original*
The original voice actor for robin had another job she had to work on when they did the rewrite so she wasn't available to re record. At least that was what I heard.
I don't really see what the problem is. Saying that a British actor has more personality is like a British game with a British actor having no "personality". I think it's about how the character is not the voice actor.
@@skylarkdemello6980 The voice just seems a bit off to me. The voice actor seems fine, but I feel as though she doesn't fit to play Robin and her personality (also this Robin seems bland). The first VA fit Robin much better than this current one. Over time I will probably grow to like her voice, but I think that this VA isn't suited to voice Robin. I'd be content if she was more like the first VA.
me: *scans everything in every game that has that function" Sean: *walks by a multitude of scannable objects with the icon flashing in the corner* Me: *Visibly shaking*
The story is, instead of having to survive after a mission had gone completely wrong, you have to survive while also trying to figure out the real cause of Sam's death after Alterra had blamed the death on negligence. Very interesting story to go through, for those that don't know.
You know I watched you all the time in middle school grew up then got back in to subnautica after not touching it since 2017 and decided to see if your channel have the new game as well. Let’s play happy you did
the next game should be called scorched seas based on the caribbean islands BUT you’ve got to find the source of power to the Alien facility and destroy it but to do that you have to navigate through tight caverns and caves that twist and turn all throughout the under side of the MULTIPLE islands. Sea creatures include the cooked peeper, the fallen reaper( ghost and burnt version of the reaper), and many more. Movement includes prawnsuit, seamoth, the skipper the fastest vehicle which can transform for a boat to a hoverbike, the big drill to drill giant island sized rocks of useful materials that are important to completing the game
@@cocoajunkie yeah I was put off when they first changed robins voice actor ngl first had a lot more character and I also much preferred the story of the first version of the game with Sam orbiting the planet and the start being on the planet.
@@cocoajunkie honestly it’s just something to get used to. I avoided early access so Robin’s voice doesn’t bother me and I’ve kind of just justified the PDA voice to being some sort of a setting like Siri’s voice.
