Do you feel lucky? Lucky enough to gamble your life? Buckshot Roulette won't hold back... Buy MY coffee: topofthemornincoffee.com/ Edited By: / @diceroll
My mother made a comment along time ago because we have some Irish heritage, we were just not having a good day, and I said “ so much for the look of the Irish” and “yeah, bad luck” because the phrase does not specify what kind of luck
@@nicholascalin5396Pretty sure the shells are inserted randomly, I don’t think you can do much about not knowing if it’s live or not and you don’t have a magnifying glass to look
I like to think he doesn’t want to do things just to be part of the group rat race to get to the game first, and he gives other RU-vidrs a good amount of time between posting his uploads to be respectful
Jack trying the 2nd rounds 50/50 three times in a row while also having alcohol to convert it into a guaranteed live or blank while also complaining about luck was both hilarious and agonizing.
Jack has beer + knife One blank one live. Chooses knife giving him 50% chance of dealing two and 50% chance of taking one. If he had drank he'd have perfect knowledge wether to aim at Gab or himself.
A few tips: 1) Unless the dealer has a magnifying glass, or it's the last bullet, he won't know what's actually in the gun. If he doesn't know what the current bullet is, he has a 50/50 shot at aiming at himself or you, regardless of what's in the gun. This is also why he wastes items a lot, and this also means he can't calculate the odds of lives to blanks. 2) Since it's your turn automatically at the beginning of the loadout, if there is a small number of bullets in the gun and you have items such as beer or handcuffs, you can prevent his turn entirely. For example, if there's two bullets in the gun, you can handcuff him and shoot both at him, you can use a magnifying glass to know for sure what both bullets are and act accordingly, or you can use a beer to lower the number of bullets left. This can also be good if the dealer has cigarettes to stop him from using them to heal himself. 3) In most cases statistically, it's actually better to shoot the opponent regardless of what's in the gun, except for a few niche situations. This is mainly because the dealer is an idiot, so for example, if there's a few live rounds left in the gun, as long as it's not the last bullet (since he'll automatically know what it is), he has a good chance of just shooting himself in the face. The pills at the beginning of the game also activate Double or Nothing mode, which is basically an endless mode where various things are randomised, and you can keep on doubling your score as much as you want, as long as you don't die. Edit: Remembered at the end of the video you said what's the best you can get score-wise. The initial score is randomly generated between 50k and 70k, but then Double or Nothing mode can let you increase that endlessly as long as you don't die.
one more thing: if the dealer has a beer, he uses it *no matter what*, even if he magnifying glassed and saw a live round (hence why at 21:00 he magnifying glassed into a beer, instead of the ideal play of glass into self-shot which iguarantees another turn since he knew it was a blank to THEN use a beer on)
Even if the dealer plays smart and aim at us everytime, it's better to aim at him everytime as well, cuz you got to go first, which means you got an extra shot at him at the end if you have an odd number of shells (5 for exemple),and if you have an even number, you will have the same amout if shots, so aiming at yourself is just playing the dealer's turn on yourself.
How are you supposed to even tell them apart? One kind looks brown, the other kind looks brown only the same. Once they are in the gun it's basically impossible to tell.
13:40 Jack not smoking the cigs to get health back or using the cuffs to mess with the dealer while he only has 2 lives and the dealer has a magnifying glass and a saw is painful 😅
He had the perfect little situation if he used the beer it was a blank he coulda used the saw and got the double but if it got the live then he still woulda been fine😭
after watching two playthroughs of this game and everyone just being lucky af, watching sean be the unluckiest person ever is a welcome change and just HILARIOUS LMAO, poor sean
For real. I find his lack of basic statistical thinking mildly upsetting. Beers are great. Always bring one when it is 50/50 odds and you'll never have to take a shot without your finger on the scales.
Watching Sean HANDCUFF the dealer & then POINT IT AT HIMSELF WAS KILLLLLLLING ME There is ZERO reason to point it at yourself when the dealer will get skipped anyways 😂😂😂 Talking about "bad luck" while making EVERY bad decision he possibly could 😂😂😂 I still loved it 👏 👏 👏
I mean…there are reasons why you would want to take the risk shooting yourself while the dealer is handcuffed BUT I 100% agree, that in Sean’s situation, he absolutely should not have pointed it at himself 😂
26:04 the suspense built up here is insane.. him being in handcuffs, the music, the number of lives no longer showing, the opponent slicing the shotgun and last of all.. him asking "Are you ready?" All of that makes this game feel real and it's not only scary but insane. They really did a good job with this game! 🔥🔥🔥
So Sean, you're supposed to use the beer when you're on a 50/50, so that you bring the chances to be tilted to one side, if more blanks then you can shoot self, if more lives you can shoot them. That's how you, in theory, can use the beers. Some specific scenarios you can do some other quirky shit but overall that's how they are useful.
Actually you want to shoot the dealer even in most situations when there are more blanks, as in a 1 live/2 blank situation, shooting yourself is 2/3 chance you get the bullet and shooting him is a 2/3 chance that he gets the bullet. The key is to realize that a 1 live/1 blank situation is 50/50 no matter who shoots, so if the first bullet misses it's 50/50. Therefore you want that first bullet to be aimed at him and not yourself.
@@vexylrei3406 Actually, it is. 1/3 chance you get it immediately. If it's a blank, which is 2/3 likely, then it goes to the dealer who has 1/2 chance of being right with his choice. If he's wrong, that's a 100% guarantee that he gets shot by you or himself. 1/3 + (2/3 x 1/2) = 2/3 chance if you choose to shoot the dealer with 1 live 2 blanks. DISCLAIMER: Items heavily alter these chances and it becomes better and better to make sure the Dealer gets the gun only when there are blank rounds if you can.
@@@vexylrei3406 If you shoot its 2/3 chance to eventually get the bullet into the dealer. It's a 1/3 chance to shoot him right away. 2/3 of the time you'll miss, and then it's 1 live/1 blank which is a 50/50. So 1/2 of the time you miss, you shoot him on the second turn. 1/3 + 2/3 * 1/2 = 2/3. Thus, if there is one live and two blanks, no items are in play, and you shoot him whenever you have the gun, then there is a 2/3 chance that the dealer gets the single live bullet.
Like that face the dealer has when he's cuffed makes me feel like the dealer is forced Into doing that and doesn't want to but some body else that's higher then the dealer has his soul life everything and he's forced to endure this hell I would say. This is the dealers version of his hell. Makes me think was the dealer a gambler in his pass life
At 25:48, I could just feel the hopelessness of the situation, the guy aimed a sawed off shotgun at Jack's face with no lives left and I just closed my eyes as he said: "Are you ready?" ...but all I heard was a click. And then came the epic comeback narrow victory!
I turned this into a card game with custom cards, there are blank cards, live round cards, and item cards, as well as cards that flip up and down between heart and skull for lives. My whole family is now gambling with this new game, and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a while. Took MAX 1 hour to make, would recommend.
@@VeryRGOTI exactly like buckshot roulette. You lay out cards for blank and live rounds, you get item cards, and you take turns shooting yourself or your opponent with the card in the chamber
This game is honestly perfect for showing that in gambling there's not such thing as something being "due" every bullet has the same chance as the others in the chamber of being the one fired just like every colour and number in roulette has the same chance every time of being the one the ball lands on, it's why Casinos don't actually need to rig any of their games, your odds of winning big are so ridiculously low they don't need to worry about people winning
@@galaxyocicat5660Because they have licenses and are getting audited. Also, as he mentioned, they will generate money anyways as the odds are in their favour.
I think a lot of it comes down to him not thinking about what's _actually_ loaded in the shotgun and just thinking "Luck" will carry him. Not to mention using his items either too liberally, or too conservatively. You don't need to be a probability expert at this game, but you do need at least some basic understanding of numbers and be able count.
A LOT of his plays were statistically against him not to mention him forgetting about items and what rounds were still in the shotgun so it's no wonder he kept losing
Honestly I felt so validated seeing him rack all the live rounds by accident. You always assume the order with be alternating because of how many bullets are there, but we neglect that there still lies a possibility that 4 of the same will be on either end. I've shot myself enough times to start relying less on probability and more on the first bullet always being live (because fuck me I guess)
However there are multiple times he could have just said "fuck statistics" and used an item to guarentee a hit/not lose a charge. For the 1/1 loads he had a beer both times but didnt use it and just hoped he would get lucky.
@@unlikelyspecimen244 You should always assume there's a live round in the chamber, because it statsically makes more sense to shoot the dealer. Not to mention the insertion of the shells is fairly random, and even in cases where you have 50-50, there's always a chance of multiple lives or blanks stacked up. Even with 4 shells (2 Live, 2 Blanks) the combos are: LLBB, LBLB, BBLL, BLBL, BLLB, and LBBL. Given the odds, simply put there is at least an 80% chance that the round in the chamber is live and a 60% chance the one after that is live.
I was wondering when Jack would play this. This is definitely something that could be expanded to a full game. Maybe have new dealers, new rules, new items.
That ending is what makes this game. Both defibrillators are offline. No more second chances. It all boils down to what the first shell in the chamber is.
9:48 to quote a meme I saw “I will never understand the phrase ‘luck of the Irish’ because the luck of the Irish is- historically speaking -fucking terrible”
I really want to see Jack wise up to the strategies of play and try this again. He made a lot of blatant errors, most notably handcuffing the dealer and then shooting himself instead of just firing at the dealer twice to use the free turn.
Who else here had flashbacks to Tomska's Russian roulette animation? Jack continually landing shots on himself (especially the first few) was just so much funnier when you remember that animation. Really set the tone. 😂
I like how, when you pick up the gun, it’s shaking, like your character is actually scared. I’m not sure if it’s intentional or not but it’s really cool.
for anyone that studies omens, over-confidence in your abilities is a sign of bad luck, Jack was boasting about his Irish Luck to help him get through the game; this is a form of bad omen in which he was punished for it. It's often seen in games where a person who claims to be very good is defeated by someone who just started playing (over-confidence brought them misfortune and so the worried newbie manages to beat the over-confident professional)
its truly terrible luck. especially since the game doesn't cheat, and the dealer operates at a disadvantage to the player. So basicly to determine who the dealer shoots the game makes a coin flip unless the dealer knows whats currently in the chamber. The dealer only knows whats in the chamber for two cases a magnifyig glass or its the last shot. The dealer uses items without any strategy unless it knows whats loaded in the gun. So the player should have an advantage by going first, and because the player can pay attention to statistics and knows how many live and blank rounds there are
when i saw the title i was like 'bad luck? you mean just not actually counting the rounds and using logic?' but no, after watching that really was the worst actual luck i've seen in this game yet, and you're the third or fourth person i've watched play it.
