I already pre-ordered the game and I am excited to play as Red Hood but I do wish they give him the option to do a more melee based combat. I don't want to just stand there and shoot NPCs. Additionally, the All Blades would've been great with that since they're connecting him with mystical elements.
I am genuinely excited for Gotham Knights. I wasnt feeling this game when the first trailer dropped and I still think the first trailer looks god awful in terms of both graphics and gameplay but the developers really took those criticisms to heart and have made a wide range of sweeping improvements. The graphics look very good so much so that they had to skip the last gen entirely. I mean the detail on Nightwings suit. The water on the rooftops looks real. All the smoke effects and sparkles and the fire effects look awesome. The Gotham City is huge but detailed at the same time. And the gameplay looks much much much better compared to the first trailer. In the first trailer, I couldnt even make out the animations and the cape physics looked inferior to Arkham City but I can make out every move that Nightwing made in the 2nd trailer. The way he ping pongs between enemies using his acrobatic moves. Jumping around flipping between one enemy to another. The punches seem like they have weight behind them. The sound design accompanying the punches also sounds awesome. When Nightwing takes down an enemy, the classic arkham slow mo also feels good. When Nightwing took down an enemy stealthily, the way he gritted his teeth. So much detail on his facial expressions. The use of an electronic glider to go from point A to point B is a really smart traversal choice. I dont even mind the leaping ability of Red Hood because this game is going to have more mystical elements from the DC lore. Robin will also use a teleportation device to get from point A to B. I am so glad that they got rid of the damage numbers. The animations generally look better. The belfry homebase also looks cool. I want to see how batgirl gameplay feels like after all the improvements because I like batgirl the best after batman in the batfamily
Jason Todd is the main reason I'll be buying Gotham Knights. I love Red Hood, so I'm excited to finally get to play as him in a video game. Hope they didn't butcher him lol.
He’s had them before he’s been able to summon magical blades but never walk on air but that’s just an example of the devs expanding something from the lore into a new gameplay mechanic it’s cool I guess
I really liked the 2nd trailer. Nightwing was very acrobatic and flippy with cool animations with slo mo hits. It looked better. I was totally against this game when I saw the first trailer. The damage numbers, the inferior bad cape physics, low visual fidelity, below average combat animations. All of this is fixed in the second trailer. Graphics look much better so much so that they had to skip a generation. The water looked so realistic. The way nightwing moved from one enemy to another enemy using acrobatic moves. The way attacks slowed down when he took out an enemy. Freeze attack from his batons looked so cool. The hits felt more punchy. The sound design accompanying the punches was also cool.
*For everyone making the fortnite glider comparisions* They didn’t give him the winged suit because Batgirl already glides and they want each character to be different. If you want them to have given Nightwing the gliding ability then Batgirl will have to use the Flying trapeze or another traversal. Nightwing's glider feels different because it's a machine, and you can angle it to climb up and around tall buildings, as well as glide," Ellenor explained. "They're all really different in feel, and until you play them for a little bit, it's hard to appreciate how much it changes how you roam around Gotham. It's designed to feel a bit improvised, and dependent on his extreme athleticism, which fits Nightwing's approach to everything. Flying it has such a different feel from Batgirl's cape-gliding, and it blends really well with his bigger parkour and leap moves, as well as with grappling. All four characters have a different rhythm to their traversal gameplay when it comes to verticality, as game director Geoff Ellenor added that Warner Bros. Montreal wanted each character to feel unique in their design. Batgirl's gliding plays with the wind to create a certain sensation of speed, Red Hood's jumping was designed to feel like fast-paced platforming, and Robin's teleport has a snappy feel to it. "Nightwing's glider feels different because it's a machine, and you can angle it to climb up and around tall buildings, as well as glide," Ellenor explained. "They're all really different in feel, and until you play them for a little bit, it's hard to appreciate how much it changes how you roam around Gotham."
Robin can glide just like Batgirl tho. Why can they both have the same traversal but others can't. I don't even want the wingsuit. I'd prefer they figure out a wall run mechanic combined with the grapple gun.
@@brucew565 so you really think he's not going to glide with that big cape he has?? Would be really bad if that was just esthetic. Teleportation is something you also have to unlock through a skill tree. Meaning you won't have it at first. You're telling me I can't glide. That wouldn't be smart. I'm sure he can glide and teleport
Gotham Knights looks great in the second trailer. The high-quality post-processing which includes the motion blur, bloom, lens flare, chromatic aberration and depth of field are staple UE4 effects which can be noticeably distinguished. Particle effects including volumetric fog and sparks are also rendered in real time thanks to UE4. The characters also feature advanced shading models with each material displaying a unique reaction to light rays hitting them and with subsurface scattering visible on the face and eye textures of the main characters. Gotham Knights is making great use of the hardware with high resolution 4K textures both for character models and the environmental assets. Whether it’s mesh of the suits of Nightwing or redhood, roads and surfaces of rooftops, intricately designed interiors, or Jason Todds and Nightwings distinctive face and armor, those high-fidelity textures are a cut above the eighth-gen standard and pair well with the high fidelity in-game models. The same goes for model quality, as even in cinematic close-up shots the seams and edges of both the protagonist. The game’s clothing features some high-quality material based reflectance characteristics, with each component scattering the light rays with realistic detail depending on the underlying material texture. Skin shading with sub surface scattering is also visible under the detailed wrinkles, pores or lips of the character models. Raster-based global illumination and screen space reflections both make the cut, however. Light bounce is visible in gameplay trailers, with transference from dynamic light sources. The screen space reflections look fine, too, though, as always with SSR, temporal stability is an issue. WB Montreal also makes great use of dynamic lighting, from flashy electric sparks to the glow of unique weapons each character uses
The gameplay still doesn’t look exciting to me but I thought the same with Guardians of the galaxy and I ended up loving it. Hope this turns out the same…
@@9Riorichi9 yeah same I wish he’d have some more up close attacks but I don’t know if that’s because the player isn’t using them much or the red hood in the demo isn’t built for close range combat you can build out the characters out differently the devs said it’s possible for people to have different builds but to what extent I don’t know but when talking about it they used red hood as an example so that gives me hope
Same bro I hope he returns to the role someday soon but he did confirm he’s recorded some Batman stuff recently probably for another animated Batman movie or an animated Justice league movie
@@jbstudios3000 Yeah I'm mostly thinking Batgirl a sher skillset looks the closes tto Batman's which is wh yI'm thinking of usin gher firs tbecause she's basicaly a female Batman. Either way I am looking forward to this game.
So the pre-death Jason being ok with being overly violent is bullshit... Like its really ooc from his 84/5 run. And the rest was retconed in when DC wanted to blame him for his death
Uses piercing rounds that destroy enemy armor lmao he's killing them just say so . Or say he uses rubber bullets . But pft I'd be fine with it when they answer it .. but mystical leap lmao 🤣.give Jason a Crow bar or a knife something plz ..
I really don't like Red Hood with powers. Keep it with gadgets and weapons. You'll never sell me on Red Hood with powers tho. Never getting that upgrade unlocked in the skill tree
@@marquisepixley684 completely ruins one of my favorite characters in my opinion. The comics might put Red Hood through a lot of crap but they at least understand that he's not just a gun character and definitely not a powers character
