Back again - with MD Sue Grant & FPB Motor Yachts designer Steve Dashew, to confirm the Dashew Offshore archives (including the designs for the entire FPB fleet - FPB 64, FPB 70, FPB 78, FPB 97 & FPB 130) have been delivered to Berthon International, in Lymington - UK, for secure storage and safekeeping. This is a big privilege for us of course, and something Steve Dashew has done to preserve them for the future - and perhaps potential use.
Thank you Steve AND Linda Dashew. And apologies to the Berthon International IT department... As you might expect. It was quite a lot of information to transport and store.
- Structural drawings.
- Systems drawings. Electrical, HVAC etc.
- Most importantly. Steve's original design notes that led into each design. Wow!
- Includes all 18 FPB hulls, but also some Mk II FPB yachts yet to come. Very hush hush.
FPB Motor Yachts for sale.

What a terrific project. To make all this info & experience by these sailors and designers available and preserved is phenomenal. Well done to all involved, especially Steve And Linda .No one can ever repay that debt to you all. Time, money and knowledge & expertise. Its invaluable !

The more you know about how a FPB was created, the more respect you have for Steve. He definately sets himself apart from the other deisigner&builder of explorer yachts. If you had a chance to buy a FPB, never go for other boats.

It’s great to see that the legacy of FPB’s and Steve’s creations will be maintained for posterity. Companies like Arksen and Circa are building their versions of Steve’s world cruising paradigm shift. Who would have thought, a powerboat capable of safe, fast passage making while sipping minimum fuel? Unheard off. Thanks, Steve, and Sue for being a true fan of such an incredible family of vessels.

When the history of yacht design is finally written, I believe this archive collaboration between Berthon and Steve and Linda Dashew will be of great value to the world of yachting in general. Thank you Berthon, Sue Grant and the entire staff of your organization for investing your time and resources into preserving the efforts of two of the most iconic figures in yacht design. Thanks for doing this, it’s so important to document their legacy and to show how it should be done the right way! If I had the money, I would be all over Iceberg in a second! In my opinion the best explorer yacht ever designed, certainly when you factor in being able to be run by a couple!

I will probably never have the money, but my how I wish these boats designed by Steve Dashew could continue to be produced and bought new in the future. I watch videos of alot of boats. But after watching videos from FPB series boats, I'm smitten with these vessels and nothing else even seems desirable. The dream? An FPB 78, 83 or 97. Then off into the sunset I go.

Does this mean or could Steve imagine that his boats would possibly be build by a yard that could meet the required very high standards in the future?
