Tourism has long been Jamaica's forte, but it's essential we diversify for the future. Tech startups are on the rise, our coffee and cocoa are gaining traction in agro-processing, renewable energy initiatives are underway, and let's not overlook our valuable bauxite resources
My grandmother Florence Robinson used to ride her donkey from Grange Hill to buy and sell fish. #Negril was dirt road then. Mass #AubreyFaulkner from our community owned the Dance Hall back then. Aunt Lil aka Blackie was a boss- cook during holidays at Mass Aubrey's property- One Mile!
What an informative presentation! I whould like to expend my appreciation to Throp for his weekly videos. Trop, your dedication and commitment to sharing insightful information have been instrumental in shaping my perpective on Negril. Your videos have consistently reinforced my belief that Negril is the ultimate destination to reside and invest. When my husband and I made the decision to venture into real estate in Negril, Your guidance proved to be invaluabel. I am truly grateful for the wealth of knowledge you provided us. As a result, we are now a proud owner af a remarkable property in Negril and eagerly contemplating the acquisition of another one. Thank you Throp! keep up the great work.
WOW! SO amazing! Thank you for sharing your story. I really appreciate it. This is exactly what this community is about and this is exactly what my main objective is. I'm so happy to hear my content has helped you and your husband on your Jamaica journey
Throp....what u r doing is very important for us Jamaican..especial those who are not fortunate to visit Negril....it helps them to see Negril from home...I am so impress...keep up the good work
It really hurt that these people are so passionate about making Negril better. With all the revenue brought in by the resorts/tourism, the residents shouldn't be spending their own money to provided needed service/items. Shame on the greedy Prime Minister and others in power. All of them were glad they got elected not to help the country but to line their pockets while the greater percentage of the population suffer in poverty or just get by. Both parties represent the same colonial system regardless of who the next leader is from either party. People let's rise up and emancipate ourselves from mental slavery! Let's get the UIC in office for a better Jamaica from sea to shining sea
Thanks for the video Throp. Your panel did a great job of presenting Negril to us. I believe Negril is giving TPDCo a free pass. They can do a lot more than just put up a sign. The garbage bins + a lot of the other beautification work that is required are a part of the TPDCo mandate. They just don’t have enough foresight. They are hoping that they can get off by doing the minimum. Businesses can also adopt sections of road.
I hope that they don't make it into a concrete jungle. It would be nice if negril and places like portland have little boutique shops, colour and some historic style buildings to give the place character. Definitely also agree with having tourism done on a small scale. It's time Jamaica drifts away from the resort style of tourism to more diverse types
This chamber sounds very ineffective. I appreciate the effort but sometimes age and experience lacks vigor and creativity….sounds like they need a lot more young people with fresh approaches and novel ideas…there should be no way in hell that Negril is lacking any sort of plumbing/sewage infrastructure…
Under the circumstances I think the Chamber is doing the best they can however I totally agree with you we need more young people to be apart of this body. SO important
Banks take the savings of poor Jamaicans and lend it to these big developers that build properties they will never get qualified to own then the developers give listings to big name real estate companies like Coldwell banker and remax
