I’m a blue belt in Taekwondo and probably do some Kung fu too.

We have 4 of these at my Dojang now. Very fun, will be utilized more once the the restrictions on contact die down (we are keeping 6 foot distance in class right now so no pad sparring yet)

Hey Alex Wong, would you mind telling us how to do a pro-wrestling dropkick (Aka a double leg sidekick)? I know it's WILDLY impractical for any use outside of performance but cmon- it looks super cool and would be an awesome way to dunk on an opponent in a sparring match

As a practitioner of both old school and modern taekwondo, I prefer this one. The recent armors used had "sensitivity" issues that's why players nowadays are like walking ballet dancers. This armor is like old school, BUT NO BIAS.

There's one thing i don't understand. Will the armour life bar determine if im ko like a video game? What if my life bar is zero but im still healthy n ready to keep going? In a fight championship i'd like to give my all as long as i can still walk... It'll b frustrating if i'd have to just stop cuz the armour would decide that at my place. :/

i want someone to hit it full power and see how much damage you do, cos that weak little kick took like 1/4 of the health bar i feel like 1 full shot and the bar is completely gone

I think its ok, its very gimmicky but it looks fun. For training it would be cool to test the power of your class etc, and a fun sparring game and I think it could encourage a less flick style of fighting focusing on getting clean hard shots instead of weak taps if the power bars are scaled correctly cos you take some damage even if you block but in comp definitely dont have the display on the hogu and matches need to be fought till KO or health bar runs out, decisions with this would be a really stupid idea. I like the emphasis on actually making sure your kicks do damage, thats a step in the right direction but the system needs tweeking.

Remember when was taekwondo about fighting and not fancy equipment

I don't think it should be, at least in it's current state. But some of its concepts are good. I think points should still be awarded, but by the amount of force. EX. 200 J = 3 points and etc.

Well this is like old school but has a modern taste. Imagine the good old days where in order to win you must be eye-catching and doing all the fancy stuffs eventhough you weren't hitting anything. It's called AUDIENCE IMPACT. That's why they made electronic armors to avoid biases. BUT, DUE TO ITS SENSITIVITY ISSUES, THESE ELECTRONIC ARMORS HAD SENSORS WHEREIN YOU CAN'T EXERT TOO MUCH POWER BECAUSE IT WON'T BE COUNTED. But now, these 2020 armors will do the trick. Mix of old school (because it requires power) and modern (it will avoid biased scoring systems)
