From my perspective what the Empire needs (aside from new content like wizard lords, engineer hero, and the Celestial Hurricanum) is: Halberdiers and Greatswords lose the Armory requirement to bring them into line with other factions. Mortars, Great Cannons, and War Wagon Mortars all down 1 tier. The Empire is the only faction that has to wait for tier 4 for their cannon, and it's the same damn cannon as everyone elses. Empire Generals get new mini-branches on their skill tree, mutually exclusive that either buff State Troops, Knightly Orders, or War Machines so generals can be specailised to lead different types of armies. The "Honest Steel" red line skill is removed and replaced with a skill that affects skirmish units (Speed, Reload, a little MA for Free Companies, Outriders and Pistoliers). The Empire has a lot of skirmishers but no red line support for making them skirmish better. Greatswords benefit from "Emperor's Finest" instead and Demigryphs from "Speed of Horse". Witch Hunters get exclusive skill lines that either focus on ranged anti-infantry with a multi-shot repeater pistol or melee anti-large. Gain an "immune to psychology" aura from a skill and an imbue magic damage active ability that targets one unit. Empire Captains gain 15% physical resistance if within 30m of a friendly infantry unit "Look Out Sir!".

Good ideas but i think the Witch hunter should be more of a duellist Hero, with Speed debuffs to a lord or a Monster unit to shoot Better from distance and a Dodge attribute against range

All they have to do is release a statement that says they are committing to bug fixing, improving the faction gameplay/mechanics, improving the experience of the map/battlefield but it will take some time. They don't even have to talk about specifics too much but the silence makes it seem like they don't know or care if their game is in a rough state. I mean have they ever acknowledged that there are still broken mechanics from wh2?

You also didn't mention that if you play cavalry units and 1 or 2 units stuck inside enemy units they will try to return constantly and you also lose your charging bonus . That's why using cavalry is kinda stupid because you constantly need to look at them not to return from charge

Things that depend on physics are super busted in this game for some reason - every monster is made or broken by it's animations and splash attack moreso than the combat stats (see the obscene nerf to chorf war machines that was made necessary when they fixed their animations in the last patch). Either they have good animations that make them move around in which case they'll blend squads and evade a lot of damage, or they'll sit there getting poked to death by tier 1 spears or missiles (shoutout to the bastiladon that actually has it's attack animation turn it's back to the target it's attacking to hit it with the tail, thus giving up 50% of it's melee defense because it's being attacked from behind as far as the engine is concerned). Meanwhile squads of cavalry are only good when their stats (mass included) and abilities are the toppest of top tier so that they'll crush anything in regular melee and tank forever (blood knights, grail knights). Forget about squads of flying units, those are getting bogged down in whatever it is they charge from the air, each model is getting surrounded and brutalized by whatever it is they don't instantly destroy on charge (everything in the game that's not generic bretonnian peasants).

Its frustrating from a gameplay perspective but its realistic for an RTS based heavily on real world battle mechanics. A cavalry unit would be very hesitant to leave behind comrades without being constantly driven by a leader of some sort and would in fact suffer significant penalties as a result of morale and panic. You could make an arguement for factions that are a bit less likely to care about comrades but even in that case the game assumes all unit formations are well trained and disciplined enough to remain in formation and not scatter as a unit unless leadership breaks.

Halberds and greatswords should really get a look at. Especially halberds, who require 2 T2 buildings and despite being one of the iconic units are kinda meh. Also, yes, generals, captains and witch hunters need to get a serious look. The WH is okay on the campaign, but should absolutlely get more interaction with cults, undercities etc, and is downright abysmal in an army. IMO empire infantry could get a slight armor buff to represent the faction's good infrastructure - looking at their armor, having pretty much the same armor as skaven clanrats is weird.. Getting the shielded halberds from the tabletop would be nice, but I doubt we'd get it.

Has anyone in the content creator group been on to CA about the downgrade in texture quality on units from WH2 to WH3? Units have lost quality, the art style is inferior in my opinion anyway and the lighting system is awful everything has a terrible shine on it.

I want Volkmar to be included i to elector counts. More over i want them to create mechanics which make dead faction ale to come back under certain circumstances. Level ponit in lords and Heroes should be able to reset after confederation. Empire units need rework. I would like them to buff steak tanks. For example They could add handgunner on the turret. War wagons need a rework, as well as empire Heroes. I think They are all shit, except warrior priest.

I certainly agree with you, but I doubt that they will ever implement those changes, but there are mods that do those, I think there is a skill respec mod or two that lets you reset all your skills, and there is also a diplomatic options mod that allows vassals as every faction, and being able to bring back dead factions from their starting settlements, might be something to look into if you want to be able to do that NOW.

I'm kinda mad that I was lookin forward to the Kislev new things and it ended up not only being the least bothered with of the 3 factions, but that if they do, do better after this that'll be even more frustrating that they half assed Kislev.

Makes me really concerned they are doing Dwarves Empire and Nurgle in one DLC also there is no reason great cannons arent tier three luckily there is a mod for that.

​@@christiandauz3742 Oh. Yes. Shogun 2 was nice. I liked Three Kingdom too. In fact the basegame was too good so the DLCs was not necessary. After 3Ked it, they will change there mind about the basegames and DLC policy. Never put to much in the beginning.

The problem is, this series doesn't exist in a vacuum. We all have other things we could be doing, or other games we could be playing. I will play the game, here and there, but my interest in purchasing DLC of Shadows quality/price, is zero. Now as well as going forward. Make me interested again, CA.

Yeah anytime I do the math on how many turns before I break even from building something is sad. I think if they added a money building that cost infections to build would help a great deal.

I think the thing about balance is a really tricky problem to tackle. We as players see the "issues" with a certain race when we compare them to another one. But we also need to keep in mind, that CA wants to create a "unique" experience with each race. If every race would play the same (even if it only comes to economy) a lot of replayability would be lost. On top of it, the changes would also affect the A.I. performance (granted, Dwarfs almost always loose against the Chorfs in my campaigns so there is a significant discrepancy) And yeah, I think the Nurgle system is really unique and I understand why the military buildings cost 10k to build which is actually LESS in total than most of not all other factions have to pay for the entire construction line of a military building. For Nurgle is only the problem that he has to pay it up front and loosing a settlement with military buildings hurt them a LOT more than others. Maybe change those buildings that they also provide a decent garrison on top of it to make up for the cost? That you get the stronger units only later into the game is also normal. You don't really have acess to Tier 3 units largely before Turn 20 and that only if you omit Growth and Money buildings.

I dont mind paying the new dlc price but thrones of decay better be loaded with content, empire, dwarfs and nurgle need desperate help. Time is of the essence for CA, we shall see. If they fck this one up I think WH3 will bleed to death in players and support for future content.

I certainly is a roller coaster with Creative Assembly. They make some of the best games ever, but DAMN, they f*ck things up so freaking hard. It's like they have the most creative and passionate people working under the same roof of the greedy blind assh*les in management, and sadly the later ones tend to call the shots.

Because of Nurgle's expensive buildings, the faction should at the very least have settlements that can defend themselves adequately, since losing a settlement is such a significant loss and your armies are typically very expensive. Ultimately though, buildings should be cheaper, and maybe even have a way to instantly move to the next tier like the chaos dwarfs, maybe using infections or something like that. That way you aren't waiting many turns just to get some plaguebearers. Really just spitballing though, the faction just has so many issues facing it. As interesting as the start location is for Kughath, he's pitted against some of the tankiest factions on the map with vampire counts, chaos dwarfs, lizard men, and ogres right on top of him. It seems like this could be the showdown of the century, but in reality it's just kind of boring. Ultimately, I think Nurgle needs a better means of expansion to compensate for his slow and unreliable economy and recruitment, and some major refining of his campaign mechanics to make playing the faction more enjoyable.

Add to that that Helman Ghorst's abilities directly counter him. Helman has (very specifically) plague attrition immunity, his army is immune to contact effects like poison, and I'm fairly sure he buffs zombies harder than Ku'gath buffs nurglings.

my wishlist for the empire as follows: hochland longrifles ludwig schwartzhelm the chaos dwarf armaments upgrade system (empire is supposed to be the most tech advanced in the world), perhaps make armaments buildings mutually exclusive to income buildings new, huge and tiered research tree (same reason) promotion system for archers and knights state troop buffs (and cost increases in multiplayer), perhaps an armour buff greatswords animation fixed (currently they leap into combat and get killed so they lose models no matter what they fight) elector count system overhaul elector count troop cost reduction, currently the carroburg greatswords are more expensive early game than terracotta sentinels chaos endgame crisis, most crisis scenarios aren't fun to fight as empire prestige overhaul, maybe use prestige to promote and upkeep knights and reduce their upkeep cost recruitment building rework, the most flexible race in the game is constantly locked by armoury and recruitment building requirements, no other race suffers from this empire engineer on a clockwork horse, give him a grenade launcher too i beg landmark buildings mercenary units e.g swiss guard equivalents, reduces missile res on contact for a pike and shot playstyle. rhenish and swiss mercs were some of the best in the world so take some inspiration empire captain and witch hunter abilities, perhaps an expert charge defence ability map wide for a short duration and a reworked accusation that gives a combat buff to all units if killed in time voicelines, expecially for the abilities above lord skills like the new magistrate stuff, empire is supposed to have the best tactical minds in the old world infinite karl franzes

As for Dwarf, I guess they could use C.Dwarf buildign mechanic to help them. Instead of require growth , Now they only need material and gold to upgrade settlement.

I expect that CA will do with the next DLC what they did with the Harmony mechanic for Cathay. A simplified version of the mechanic without negative effects. The normal building system for Nurgle, Empire's Elector Counts mechanic will lose all the negatives, and so on. I can imagine that the only thing CA will do is possibly add more generic lords/heroes and reskin units to next DLC, but the price will be 25 euros or even 30 euros. At this point, I expect that the next race pack, like Dogs of War, will only have 2 legendary lords and cost 40 euros. Honestly, I doubt I bought the Throne of Decay even for 15 euros. I'm not a fan of Nurgle; I just don't like the look of this race with all those disgusting units. If Empire gets character like a boring female version of Helman Ghorst with a generic dragon that a few horny people want but adds zero value to the game(Empire already have Balthasar Gelt as Wizard legendary lord). I doubt Dwarfs LL will really save this DLC for me. I really hope Empire will get something interesting like unique Master Engineer LL like Jubal Falk or Ar-Ulric Emil Valgeir as Ulric theme LL on expedition in Chaos Wastes(they can't really sell Toddy in DLC).

I stopped playing Total War when they released Realms of Chaos which was an awful, buggy design. The gap between that release and IE was too long and the eventual product inherited design flaws from Realms of Chaos although I did play it for a while .IE contained the makings of a great game and the first DLC releases gave hope for a much better product . However the latest release is just poor. Modders produce better for free. The PR release from CA seemed to say "put up with slow, poor quality releases or we stop making the game". An odd threat considering I thought this was their flagship product. The current game is expensive and buggy. A good Empire update would help along with a repackaging of the product line and bug fixes.
