This guy is really smart. He is trying to tell you how these corporations are brainwashing you. They use behavioral modification ON YOU! I don’t agree with everything he says BUT HE HAS FASCINATING IDEAS. Shut your eyes so you don’t see him and LISTEN to what he is saying. He is trying to SAVE YOU.

You can tell that the interviewers are not really on board with the idea of leaving social media behind them. It is their way of life and their business model.

"Steam could almost do it because they have Linux and Windows and Mac and Oculus and Vive and other VR platforms, except they can't stop letting people making school shoot-'em-up games on their platform." Utterly ridiculous statement. Steam obviously *can* stop letting people making any type of game if they choose to do so, that isn't the issue. In fact they expressly chose not to arbitrarily ban things unless they are clearly illegal. This just makes what they have even more of a candidate as _the_ platform, the VR equivalent of the Internet, if anything.

Facebook was lame. People pinging you all the time for no reason. 2% of the users created 99% of the content.

@Reality Check That's only because it's the most addicting, and the people on it are the most addictable.

Jaron calls palmer a jerk. Palmers father Brett Luckey is a used car salesman. Poor palmy probably never had a chance learning to be wise and responsible. Jaron is right about 6 dof too.

Jaren says VR is the creepiest inventiion of all time, so we need economic incentives that reward stuff that isn't creepy, but now the only thing that is rewarded is the creepy stuff. Who else on Earth has that much common sense.

Data is not going to pay enough people, not if it's in a competitive market anyway. You'll have people selling data for the bottom dollar and not what it's actually worth because competition will bid the price down. I think Jaron has some idea what people pay what something near the value, which isn't at all true. Even in very uncompetitive markets like internet service, the cost of the internet isn't even close to the value of it. People won't be able to extract enough value from sharing data unless they have a government mandate, which defeats the "dignity" argument. Either way you're having the government step in to fix the market. Basic income is a no brainer for a highly technologically advanced society.
