Nice Vid! I was seriously liking the idea of getting one with the brushless set up and lizard pro , however all the vids ive seen , I noticed how noisy the motor or gearing is. Also the ground clearance / crawling performance didn't impress me that much. Can you please review and compare with the new CR-18 EVO PRO please. This one seems quite promising and comparable. keep up the good work mate.

we JUST got the new evo today actually. it will be a few days before we can get a video shot, edited and posted. but its coming! The FX118 is loud because its ALL METAL GEARS!.. there isnt really a way to quiet that down. The truck is actually an amazing performer. (Largerly due to the furitek brushless setup and a few other key things) My only real complaint about the truck is the long bottom section of the chassis rails.

I've just stumbled across your channel (+1 sub) I just levelled mine up with the hobbyplus evo lcg chassis and there fighter body, with the addition of there 10mm wider wheel stub axles and to finish some 1.2 alloy beedlocks and there mudder xl tyres,,, I just wished The hobby plus lcg evo pro got released before I got the furitek fx118

Thanks for the sub! The evo pro only exists because of the fx118, so unfortunately the evo pro could not have come out first. lol. They basically learned from the fx118

Another very informative video. I will have to watch a couple of more times before jumping into all these upgrades. I have few questions for you: - in your video about upgrading the Hobby Plus CR18P Evo Pro, you mentioned that all the upgrade of the Fury can be done on the Evo Pro; would adding the aluminum axles be beneficial? - a lot of people replaces the bushings with bearings, what are the advantages of doing the conversion? - Can the battery be attached with velcro instead of a rubber band? Again great video and thank you for all the info. "Gettin's it right."

Aluminum axles help add low down weight and durability. Also people like bling. The bearings will help reduce friction and smooth drive train. They can rust if you run in water though. You can use Velcro to attach the batter but I prefer a rubber/elastic band. I used to Velcro but as I got more trucks and started moving batteries around, the Velcro became a pain. Thanks a ton for watching

Little tip. I used some of the spacers that come with the trx4m injora links to adjust the link length and wheelbase

Man, that's a good tip about the "loosening" of the ball joints. My front end has been binding since i put high clearance links and couldn't figure out why. I bet this is my issue!
@TheShopMiniRC
@TheShopMiniRC 5 месяцев назад
Yep. it really frees it up. This is why its so important to test things as you go.

your breakdowns are awesome. when you full compress the axles into the bodies, does the drive shafts align with the links, or do they fall under? I find high clearance links cause my drive shaft to be more exposed and scrape a lot more than straight links... and at that, i'd prefer some good smooth rounded plastic for anything that could touch rocks
@TheShopMiniRC
@TheShopMiniRC 5 месяцев назад
it is SUPER close on the rear but the front seems tucked enough. If you were really worried about it, you could always clock your axles inward a bit more by adding a .5mm-1mm spacer to the top links (or try to shorten your lower links with an extra turn on the threads. You arent wrong though about some nice smooth plastic links. I would love to see some plastic high clearance links using the original mount link ends at the skid plate side to help keep that as smooth as possible. Hell, maybe we could just do some heating and melt the links to make em high clearance like we did on this SCX24 Bronco's stock links! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bgiziHv-8GY.html

We need a Delrin plate for the bottom of the skid

Could be good. Would just lower your clearance though.. but might be worth it. Ask 3flow9rc. They do that stuff!!!

@anon556
@anon556 5 месяцев назад
@@TheShopMiniRC the literally remove clearance at the skid. Those little bumps jutting out grab onto everything. You also can't even install the rear and get full articulation or shock travel because the links contact each other almost immediately no matter where you mount them. You can't put them in the proper position without removing the gigantic battery tray. Even then they are poor... The rcawd option is much better. It's like furitek didn't even bother to test anything they have been releasing.
@TheShopMiniRC
@TheShopMiniRC 5 месяцев назад
@@anon556 if you see in our video, our links never touch and we have the shocks laid back pretty far for a good amount of travel. I do agree though that the link ends at the skid are kinda rough. But even the stock skid plate is protruding a lot.

No problems here with installing my FX118 Fury Wagon high clearance links. Your issue was certainly due to your own human error or hundreds of thousands of FX118 Fury Wagon owners would also made complaints too.
