We hope you enjoy THE G-MAN | GERALD MCCLELLAN TRIBUTE.Gerald Allen McClellan (born October 23, 1967) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1988 to 1995. He is a two-time middleweight world champion, having held the WBO title from 1991 to 1992, and the WBC title from 1993 to 1995. McClellan was forced to retire from boxing after a severe brain injury suffered during his final fight in 1995, a loss to WBC super middleweight champion Nigel Benn.Known for his formidable punching power, The Ring magazine rated McClellan at number 27 on their list of "100 Greatest Punchers".[1] In 2007, McClellan was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in California, not to be confused with the more widely recognized International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota.

He had absolute superb boxing skill and was a really talented amateur. 88 golden gloves he defeated Roy Jones Jr on points. Outside of his extreme physical power was a Pitt Bull mentality that eventually cost him his career but NEVER his heart.

Boxing is a martial art, an art of war. Boxers, like all fighters are artists. When you watch a title fight, you're seeing two grand master craftsmen locked in a real time chess match with life and death on the line. Their dedication, skill and personal sacrifice puts all other artists i.e. actors, writers, musicians, painters ect. to shame.

If it wasn't for what happened him he would of been the most dodged boxer ever. I remember watching a documentary about him and Benn years ago while on a 3 hour bus journey. Not ashamed to say I had tears in my eyes for him. God bless him and his family.

He never even reached his prime. He was only 27 when his career ended. Imagine him fighting at 29/30 at his physical peak.

Gerald McClellan is like that character from Dragonball Z name " Super Buu". This version of Buu was taller, meaner, and had an obvious love for fighting as proved by his instant desire to fight Gotenks as soon as he was birthed. That's Gerald Mcclellan!!💪

what’s crazy is that he was only 28 when the incident happened and the fact that he was actually winning the fight. he was undefeated in 21 fights..He was still in his prime. 31W 29KO 3L. one of the most underrated fighters.

He was 27, he probably would have won if Benn didn’t rabbit punch him and the headbutt didn’t happen. That fight actually showed that the G man could somewhat box on the back foot.

@@mahadkamran5914 also perhaps the count was wrong in the first round, and the referee was stopping McClellan from fighting, kept interrupting his flow. Nigel Benn may well have been on some PEDs for that fight too, he avoided a drug test by 'collapsing' when leaving the ring.

@@wm_9640 wrong but what a cruel fate to be given. Dog fighting is terrible but this was more horrible as a human lost his ability to live and is in constant pain.
