I supported Larian team and Baldur`s Gate 3 project with all my heart and soul, and when Neil Newbon received his award I was in tears. Thank you for such a beautiful world and such amazing characters that you have created.
It's like they either did no research into other terms they could use, or assumed the public would be too dumb to know anything other than those two words.

Baldurs gate is not my cup of tea, nor is spider man, Resident evil is great, but I dont know how anyone could say Baldurs gate isn't the greatest game of this year in most aspects. That game deserves everything it won.
And the fans dont think the game is perfect, its got plenty of bugs, especially at act 3 but the fact that the developers actively respond to people when they report a bug or have questions and then fix the issues with relative speed and add things that people think would help improve the game makes them so much more proactive than most other studios.
i voted for hit , dont even play it , and dont intended to, because is not my type of game, but i belive a company like larian studios deserve it i saw some gameplay from divinity 2 and baldurs gate and i can see the passion they put in their games, we need to support this new companys that do this game with love instead of money grabing ones like MOSST AAA games right now
As much as I'm a lifelong Zelda fan and loved Tears of the Kingdom so very, VERY much, I'm glad to have seen Baldur's Gate 3 win the award. It's clear the game was a labor of love, and I want industry execs to realize that people like games that are made that way, rather than microtransaction-riddled games that are released in an unfinished state to make a quick buck
To be fair, it likely wasn’t a close decision. BG3 is a once in a decade game, and TOTK was essentially a glorified patch of BOTW. It wasn’t that fun. To say that Zelda was even competition for BG3 is kinda laughable IMO
Well done to everyone who worked on Baldur’s Gate 3, past and present. For future award show, how about you actually give the people who won the awards enough time to give their acceptance speeches, especially when someone recently passed away in the team. Let’s have a bit more respect
that and also have a real award presentation for the other categories instead of Geoff listing them on the side. Less trailers, less awkward celebrity stuns and more awards.

Neil deserved to win the performance award due to his superb voice over which matches the character he voiced so much it makes us feel that the character really is him.♥️
Baldur's gate 3 truly deserve game of the year. Dragon age origins, witcher 3, skyrim, divinity original sin 2 and now Baldur's gate 3. Time and time again we recieve such wonderful games which make this industry so special. Thank you larian studios.
What a weird show. The producers that where actually allowed an acceptance speech, where all cut off after 20 seconds. A few of them didn't even make it on stage, instead their titles where just announced. A couple parts of the show where muted due to copyrighted music. I'd wish for more respect towards the actual producers of the games instead of this trailerfest.
Well that depends on whos playing it. I'm not into Diablo games in general so I wont play the game ever and even if I did i would not like it. For me the game of the year is either Phantom Liberty or Alan Wake 2.
@@kukuricapica You might be surprised. The diablo experience and the baldurs game experience are as different as portal and call of duty. They may look similar in mechanics on the surface, but the intention of the game and the experience they are trying to create are wildly different.
@@CinnaBox yes it's one of gratest games of all times, is a gamechanger. introduce a lot of people to the gender, even if u dont like that type of game, bg3 feels so diferent but with that escence too; and is a amazing example of how to make a dinamic decision and rpg game. (also the fact that u dont like the gender doesnt make it a bad game)

Been a game lover for a long time and after playing nier games I thought I'll never find something good out there Bg3 really deserved it and god I knew it was gonna be Neil for best preforming 🎉🎉
All gameplay footage allegedly. You can tell they took a lot of tech from No Mans Sky and built on them for mechanics in this new game. I’m sure people like Todd Howard were sweating in their seats.
Ridiculous that Gamespot muted them so they could retain ad revenue from this show. It’s not their content they aren’t entitled to the revenue, especially if keeping the revenue makes it a worse experience for viewers.
It blows my mind how far gaming has come in the last 20 years and how people look at gaming, this was so sick and can not wait for the future of gaming.

All props to Geoff for being such a huge ambassador for this hobby, but man this show is just devolving into celebrity sightings and ads. I love the trailers but let's actually celebrate the people that make games a little more. Ya know, what you say this show is all about?
When they brought Gonzo the Muppet out there I couldn’t believe this was what the Game Awards was becoming. Or making Neil Newbon, the winner of Best Performance, immediately wrap up his speech after literally 15 seconds on stage. What a slap in the face.
This doesn't really feel like an awards show. It's just a bunch of game trailers with a few interwoven seconds of "By the way such and such won this category. Back to the game trailers!"

BG3 literally was my reason to live. I played the beta and was waiting for YEARS. I was told to find a reason, and I'm so glad I did. That game def was made with love and stress and time.
I am completely surprised there is no award for Apex Legends, Resident Evil 4, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Diablo IV (Blizzard Entertainment), Mortal Kombat 1, Fortnite, Genshin Impact they are totally neglected, what kind of award are these they are just supporting those games who have no good repo in market. very strange 😞
Whatever game gets Game of the Year is usually snubbed in the other categories. They don’t want them getting the majority of the awards, even though they deserved them!
I thought it was a shame too.. I was torn between them and FF (think I voted for BG3 though), but it is hard to compete with a Final Fantasy game in that category. FF has always had some of the best music throughout gaming history.
Not really everyone who has played BG3 and other games agree that BG3 has gameplay going for it and performances and writing. But soundtrack and narrative and direction were all extreme strengths of other studios. Like they went against Sam Lake for best narrative
