Yet it can play about 0.5% of the amount of games the GBA could.

That is bloody amazing to think about.

There's nothing to be gained from a manned mission on the moon at this point.

funnily enough its the reason why my friends sister wants it, she does some monster-high customizing and lovers retro consoles :P

Probably the only actual use for it, that and doll house decoration. Way too small to actually play anything comfortably.

@@ziondhill Thanks! That one is quite a bit expensive but looks kinda awesome, definitely would consider preordering it! It’s Lua/C only tho and lacks documentation, so idk, maybe I’ll persuade a rich friend to buy one first and test it🤣

@Ellipsys0303 The appeal to me is the community and the inspiration given through limitations. If you're the kind of person who doesn't like Pico-8 this is basically another, more expensive, form of that. If that's not your kind of thing I can see why you wouldn't get the appeal.

@Ellipsys0303 Exactly. The Playdate is never going to be a serious console. As Panic themselves have stated, they just wanted to make something fun. I believe that upon release many will share the opinion that they succeeded on that particular goal. If you want to make games, do it for something you'd want to experience it on. Heck, if you're crazy enough make your own Gameboy game in 2021. That's the fun part about game development, once you learn how, you can make just about anything you want on just about whatever you want.

You know why the're making them this small? So you can lose em!

It should come with a shell you can put the system in that makes it the size of a Gameboy.

The 3ds was revolutionary for the general pain market

@@dampytofficial Lol you haven't heard about the infamous Sega Game Gear Micro? Pretty sure Retro Future did a review on it... It's about the same size as the screen of the Game Boy Micro... But this thing makes it seem like the original Game Gear lol

Since this is open source. Theoretically, you could probably connect a controller to the USB port and use that to control the games. I know it defeats its small purpose. But hey, at least there can be solutions to these kind of problems

But it was. It shows the gameboy Tetris. It's not a mini gameboy. It won't play gameboy games.

@@isaaclee3333 no it can't. It doesn't have the resolution, the sound capability needed, or even the correct colours. This screen only does black or white.

@@virusfr33 that doesn't mean it's impossible for any version of the game to exist on the platform there will most likely be some way to either emulate it or faithfully recreate it

@@isaaclee3333 again, the resolution of the screen is too small and only features 2 colors. Technically nothing can be emulated on it.
