Fun fact: In Pokémon colosseum a lady says her life long boyfriend is a mightyena, and in let’s go a guy says he wants to give his girlfriend a water stone but he is afraid she will evolve and in the best wishes anime it shows a guy marrying his gothitelle. So yeah human Pokémon relationships are legal in canon, and in the sun and moon demo a lady was waiting for her boyfriend for days and then on the last day a machamp shows up. And a mission in Legends Arceus confirmed that a guy married and had kids with a Froslass. Theory: I have a theory that pokemon human relationships are probably legalized in places like Kanto but are illegal in places like sinnoh, that would explain why we see npc’s say they are dating a Pokémon in places like kanto, but not in places like sinnoh.
Hey, twenty bear skins side quests had to originate from somewhere, lol. Just ask King David!... Who had also got caught up in 'farming' and brought twice as needed to complete that task.
TTar: ranting about Pokémon Origin Lore and how Arceus is a false god Also TTar: "Original sin based on-" Everyone: "ohh no... its time💀" TTar: Reads the first paragraph "Thats what I like to see Matsuda!" Everyone: "he doesn't know what he's in for😂"

I mean, with the way everyone reacted they proved themselves right, irl myths are worse but everyone flipped out over non-canon scrapped world building exercises :/ if it's any consolation, the international dppt release still kept the story about the slasher swordsman, and pla makes it very clear that people can and do get attacked & done in by pokemon
The Slaking one is worse actually. I mean the Typhlosion and the girl seemed to get closer with time since they were together for so long, and we don't know if it happened while she was sleeping you know. While with the Slaking, it is written that the girl was unconscious. Well she got rpd cuz her and her friends cut the ears and klled many Slakoths but I think the Slaking one is worse
i dunnno about that. the girl in the typhlosion story seems to be a child. the typhlosion was grooving her throughout the whole first half, even erasing her thoughts to make her stay. i think the story of a child grooving victim getting repeatedly rpd- because she can't give permission under those circumstances, she's not in the right mind to- shouldn't be written off so decisively. the slaking one is horrific enough already, but the typhlosion one...
@@arianawhite-fi9uv 1. He never said the typhlosion story was okay, and 2. The story does NOT state she is underage, so you are assuming things not written. Both stories are bad, but I agree with OP. The actual content is worse in the first story.
I think its interesting that these stories did actually make it into the Gen 4 games, even if heavily edited for a game that children can play. You do mention that one passage from the library that was removed from the translated version, but there is more. The Veilstone Myth talks about a young man who finds a sword, with which he killed Pokémon. He then talks to them, and they basically warn him, that if he attacks them, they will attack back, even if they dont want to. And the young man regrets finding the sword. This pretty much parallels the story with the Ursaring, they cut out the Octillery portion (why was that even there) and the graphic depictions of him mutilating the Ursaring. And instead of actually taking revenge, in the new version they just warn him. I also think the Sinnoh Folk Story 1 is the story with the Octillery. The newer version talks about throwing the bones of the consumed Pokémon back into the ocean instead of having relations with them, but in both instances the Pokémon returned and was thrown back again. Sinnoh Folk Story 2 is then the Typhlosion story, as it not only tells of Pokémon disguised to "sleep as a human", but also the last line "Awakened, the human dons the Pokémon hide to roam villages." This fits the woman of that story becoming half-typhlosion and living with the humans (only to be awakened as a Pokémon) My conclusion is, that these Stories were specifically written for that purpose. As little folk tales, for the player to find when interacting with a book in a library. The stories do have old japanese yokai folktale vibes. The Typhlosion one specifically is similar to the story of the Mujina, which is a shapeshifting badger yokai.
NOOO HE FINALLY REACHED IT. I WANTED TO PROTECT THIS MAN 😭💀 Edit: can someone give the actual real translated context of the typhlosion situation? Not the bad one
@@shuichisaihara53 Basically the typhlosion disguised as a hermit saved the woman (NOT A CHILD) from an avalanche/snowstorm and they fell in love and got married. After they got married they had CONSENTUAL freaky time which NORMAL MARRIED COUPLES DO (keep in mind by this time she knew full well she was doing it with a pokemon) then they had a human pokemon hybrid child and were living a happy life in the mountains, then the woman's father found out and killed the typhlosion and banished the woman with her child from the village forcing them to discard their humanity and live in the mountains
@@LordSerperior1 Nah I mean like they were calling typhlosion a pedophile I wanted to see if that part was actually true and if it was consensual or not. But I never doubted that it would be that completely different I just wanted to see if it was consensual and so on and if the girl was an adult.
Honestly i dont think he realized or put it together that slaking did that bc its pokemon, its supposed to be a kids company. Its not explicitly stated in those stories, where as in octillary its literally stated “he had relations” which is much more implied
What are you talking about? 34:24 38:19 He basically gave the same reaction, the only difference is that he questioned who wrote the Octillery story. His reaction at that point was probably due to the fact that the stuff that happened in the slaking story wasn't a one off thing but a common theme.
Manaphy broke the pattern of Mew-like mythical being psychic two generations prior. Diancie was likely supposed to be the "Mew" for gen 6 since there were things like Carbink and possibly the sundial that had connections to it within the game. I wonder if the Electric/Steel type was supposed to be found in that power plant that we never got access to.
@@shuichisaihara53 SAME, LITERALLY MY FAVORITE POKEMON EVER. The REAL translation basically talks about how the typhlosion, disguised as a hermit in the mountains saved a young woman (not a child) from a snowstorm/avalanche, then they got married and had CONSENTUAL intercourse which resulted in a typhlosion human hybrid, but the woman was still happy until her father came and killed the typhlosion and exiling the woman and her half pokemon child from the village
Just like Diancie is called Pink Diamond in the tweet at 24:08 , Tettou is Steel Tower, this was not it name but yes doesn't sound like Magearna. Also try to remember the stories are meant to be folklore, inserting Pokemon over Yokai and the like
Somehow, despite how controversial these lore stories are, I kind of want fans to animate short episodes based on them, drawn in a mature but old folktale like artstyle. Show the more graphic stuff, but don't go too far with the "relations". Somehow I imagine the octillery scene a bit like that old japanese art "the dream of the fishermans's wife ". While reading the stories I can literally see the storyboard in my head. How the girl burns a wodden box containing the 3 things from typhosion humming the melody alone on the snowy mountain. How the woman puts her dead slakoth into the river. Or how the boy and the Ursaring fight each other to death. Almost no background music for the shorts. No clear morals. Just short occasional sentences and most of the storytelling done through visuals and atmosphere. At the end you are left with a feeling like "that felt powerful and heavy, not like pokemon at all" and you are left with this unclear feeling like a mix of feeling emotional, shocked, pensive and like you're needing a few hours to come down.
That’s like saying you feel powerful and dark when you hear a father sa their child or something stupid, bruh just because it has shock value doesn’t mean it’s deep in any way.
I think the point of these old stories, especially the typhlosion one, was to show that there was a time when humans and pokemon were much closer. Like two different species of monkey, or lions and tigers, in today's world. Weren't there also hints from Khu during the S/V DLC about a secret link between pokemons and humans? The Ia/Ea old lore confirms that pokemon and humans were descended from the same "gods" and that AUS looked like some weird mix of pokemon and human. So I think that during the times of these old stories, they were trying to imply that the boundaries between pokemon and humans was not so cut and dried. Humans might see a pokemon and think of them as a similar being or existence. Even Zorya/Zoroark can pass as a human in canon. I think we associate pokemon heavily with animals because of their close resemblence to them, but it seems like we were meant to think of them more like magical creatures or spirits who have the same intelligence or base essence as human beings, but happen to exist in animal like forms. To be honest, the style of the stories is very reminiscent of japanese folklore and how they depict and talk about ancient tales of oni and kami (good and evil spirits that often had fractious interactions with humankind). Japan in general is a land where the storytelling can offen be extremely intense and they dont seem to shy away from more taboo concepts. Just look at manga/anime like 7 Seeds or Death Note.
It is possible when they were thinking about the concept of life and death, they were gonna tie to the creation trio. Makes sense why certain pokemon appear in the drafts. Yeah all the folklore are modeled after myths and stories in the real world. Im pretty sure the typhlosion one was based on a shape shifting Yokai story.
I find it really interesting to see how they planned out their mythology. They basically took old real world myths and adjusted them to work in a Pokemon world. It's not fair for people to think these guys are furries and freaks. They are GameFreaks I guess. None of this was ever supposed to be in a game anyway. But, keep going. This is cool.
I disagree on the "Mewthree" idea. I'd say it was a prototype concept for either a Mewtwo X or Y, that they didn't fully conceptualize until after making the box legendary differences and had a clear path for X and a Y variant. Also, I'd theorize that if that is the case, ZA will certainly complete the sequence of X,Y,Z with another version. One which may not be a typical Mega, but a form that Mewtwo can evolve into and stay in.
It would be so cool if Pokemon Showdown had a version of that gym building concept that game freak had come up with, where you can either make the 1st-8th gyms and the levels and how many Pokemon you can use are limited by which gym it is. And after you beat other player gyms, you can use their teams in your own gym to put them as a gym trainer
So the Legendaries must've regularly got caught up in human conflicts over the millenia, huh? Or maybe Giratina and Heatran are just looking for a reason to fight from time to time.
I agree with the little brother little sister angle, still sad we didn’t get the game corner for ORAS. We were robbed at the last second thanks to the EU 😭
Hoopa is the cute mythical of Gen 6. Also, you never noticed that the Ultimate Weapon was Floette’s flower in design? That was obvious. & the graves were in the final cutscene.
This may seem like a weird tangent, but there's a concept in Gnosticism where there's a being called the "monad". The monad IS god. In gnosticism, the Christian normal god exists. It's called the "demiurge". But above it, exists a greator god. The monad didn't create the universe, it created the demiurge. And that demiurge did create the universe. But because the demiurge isn't the monad, whenever it made the universe, it was imperfect. Stuff like evil existed. Imo, Arceus and "Aus" may follow a similar dynamic. Aus hatched from an egg, creating the universe. But after all that, it created Arceus to manage the universe. It may not be as powerful as Aus, but it does a good enough job keeping the universe in check
Bro it's already been debunked that it was incorrectly translated and typhlosion is innocent, and in any other story, it's the humans that are at fault aren't they?? People gotta stop being so closed minded and do their own research 🙏🙏
Your suggestio of making Arceus a fake God at 29:58 actually sounds interesting, perhaps it could be expanded by how or why other legendary attack it as it's not the origin/leader they are loyal to. Remembereding the theories how Eternatus was one of the thousands arms of arceus so imagine eternatus belongings to the true master or vice versa with it loyal to Arceus.
4:08 It's kinda interesting how people are somehow forgetting that May/Brendan kinda already have a little sibling in Pokemon Emerald when they are Prof. Birch's Child. I believe that was actually Max.
this world war theme from xy also connects with the context of the "belle epoque" (that peace state before the war striked on france) that i think thats what they are trying to bring this belle epoque feeling in legends za
I'm still fuming with rage over how the good name my favorite starter and the evolution of my favorite pokemon in general has been dragged through the mud in an instant
Weird lizard tongued energy dog was probably supposed to be a legendary or something since its sprite is appearing next to stuff from the end of the pokedex.
ORAS didn't need a Battle Frontier. It's a remake of Ruby and Sapphire not Emerald. It's like Leaf Green Fire Red was not a remake of Yellow but a remake of Red/Blue/Green. We later got a remake of Yellow through Pokemon Lets Go Eevee and Pikachu. BDSP is a remake of Diamond and Pearl but it's just very mid compared to the other remakes which brought the region to speed.
I laughed so hard I had literally tears in my eyes from the octillery and the lapras stories. Like you expect a wholesome a story and it starts like in a childrens book "One day a man met a lapras." and then it goes like from 0 to 100 in the next sentence. I cant get over how unexpected it comes, that's way too funny xD
I like your analysis but I also think it shows that there are some humans out there with Pokémon level power and can communicate better with them because they are partially Pokémon genetically.
You have to ask why they all start with villagers going for a walk and then doing the deed with the first Pokémon they find and then going back every day again and again. The storytelling is a bit repetitive
The prophecy has come true, Ttar thinking to much about it and not taking the story at face value is very much like him, Also this is very unfortunate timing for Game Freak with the news stories and aligations being thrown around in the world right now.
Fun fact that model 27:28 the player place holder is from Pokemon rangers guardians of the sign which is the game where flying on the latis first was possible around the region nice they remember such a good game
If it was meant to reflect the world war then that might explain why they made the shift to Lysandre as the villain. Kind of seems like the Kalos War came after the idea for the weapon and they changed directions as they made more parallels to make it more broad rather than just parallel the Japan specific conflict.
