Marcus needs to be the mc for 6. He can carry either choice. If jd dies, this can be his last ride to avenge his son. If its del, he can finally repair that relationship with his son through understanding the trauma of losing a brother in arms
*Saving JD* needs to be canon! He needs to live not because he deserves better or he has a well developed relationship with Kait then she has with Del. But because he needs to continue the Fenix bloodline. And Marcus has lost so many people in his lifetime (Two Carmines, Carlos, Tai, Kim, Dom, his father Adam, and his wife Anya) and have to comfort his son as the two develop a father-son relationship.
Saving JD gotta be the canon choice. Marcus have lost enough alredy. And sure Del is a great character, though his story arch got tied up nicely until that choice. JD got reeealy bossy and harsh, Dels death would give him the humility and become a better COG leader. Also WHY do The Coalition devs make the blonde guy bald?? ( thankfully let them keep the beards )😂 Both JD and Baird are all blonde beards and shaved blondes. Hope Baird, Jace, Cole, and Clayton appear. And none dies! Hopefully find a new Carmine relative thats not.... unfortunate. Curious about Kaits future too and the rest for sure
Feel like what makes gears is the character deaths. Like this is war and in war people die. They Don't have to go overboard but I'd still want characters to die in gears 6. Always about brotherhood but sometimes not everyone makes it out
Feel like I’m in the minority but I would love a genuine open world story for gears. With side missions, outposts, random encounters with maybe grub holes, weapon and armor customization (even if it’s only cosmetic). I feel like exploring the world of sera would be awesome if done right and even more so in unreal engine 5
JD is the cannon survivor, it's being officially confirmed months ago. Which is a relief as Del was awesome in 4 then became a whining b@#£h in 5. I can't wait for some gears news next month as the fans have been left starving for years.
Really feel like gears is in a weird limbo right now. If the trailer shows JD surviving, most will be relieved and excited for what they do. But if it’s the opposite, I think a lot of people are just not gonna care or be extremely annoyed at The Coalition pushing these characters we don’t really like. I like Del and the other chick (the fact that I adore gears and can’t even remember her name ain’t great.) but following the fenix fam is kinda the heart and soul of these games. And it wouldn’t be as exciting without them around. And if JD is dead, Marcus being a major player just wouldn’t make sense.
Me too, I love the franchise. Gears one and two are still the standout games for me but 3,4 and five are great games in their own right. I don’t get why the last two games get so much negativity.
I hope JD survives. Del and Kait are very childish and I wouldn't care if Kait bites the bullet in GoW6. Marcus and the rest of OG Delta needs to have a more screen time. I'd also like the game to have flash backs. Really airing out the events of Settlement 2 during the Riots. And those few months where JD and Fahz went on missions together so we can see how they went from enemies to friends.
Bring back Clay in the campaign even introduce the 4th Carmine brother and I’d kill to for the original delta squad like you say, Marcus, Baird, Cole and Carmine/Sam. Do four player co op so I can rock the Grub Killer 😂
This review was weirdly positive for Gears 5. The fact that the most annoying thing to you was the satellite mission spam and not the terrible characters we are given and told/forced to like. Every other review and people I've talked to said how much they dont like the story/new main team. Kait is an awful character. Insanely unlikable and annoying. Del and JD are okay. I think the main thing allowing this new trilogy to not drown was the nostalgia of having returning characters. I know that everyone has different preferences, but if the overwhelming majority of players dont like the game, it's not for no reason. I think Gears 4 was decent. Enjoyable even. But i could not get past how terrible Kait is as a character plus the missions/story of Gears 5. I love Gears, and i hope they salvage the franchise with Gears 6. But we'll see.
I actually enjoyed my playthrough. Whether that was because it was my first time back on the game since like 2019 I'm not sure, but I enjoyed it co-op. Looking forward to G6, but agree a lot needs to be changed.
Gears 5 was Woke (no need when the game already had strong female characters). Marcus/Cole/Dom/Baird should be the main playable characters. Halo did not switch to a Mrs. Master Chief. Gears 5 game play was great, but the campaign/story was an immense downfall! We need the original characters like you stated and they need to bring back that brotherhood/gore that made Gears of War 1-3 my favorite game/series.
Gears trilogy has been trash thus far, i expect this game to be ass too. Top 3 issues: 1-not gory/horror concept anymore 2-Kate is not a good charscter to build the story on 3-how the hell will a “pick your end” with JD and del be continued in 6 and not be stupid? Wont be purchasing the next dumpster fire 😂
Remember when this franchise had 3-4 games come out for the 360 and now they've only got 1 or 2 per console generation now? Microsoft is killing itself and I actually liked them more than PlayStation but now both companies are dogshit I went back yo Nintendo.
