Update! This car ran the Southern Classic (Atlanta to Texarkana, get beer and come back) in 16hours and 2 minutes….we ran behind a buddy in a 77Trans Am and stopped for gas when her did which was twice as often as we needed, and we really only opened it up once. Moving average was 85, top speed reached was 147….allegedly ;-)
I thought one of the theories for running a successful Cannonball was to choose a inconspicuous car. Lol. This one will definitely get a lot of eyeballs. But, this is definitely a great tribute car, and a great tie in to a family legacy. I wish you the happiest of ownership experience and safe, uneventful travels.
Your completely right, most people go for the most inconspicuous car possible, although some of us go the exact opposite way and sticker the cars up and if we get stopped we actually tell the police what we are doing!!! However that only works if your not attempting a record and are just running for a personal best, as long as your not crazily speeding there's a 50% chance the police will let you go with a warning. It does seem counterintuitive, but on two separate occasions I have heard it called in on the police scanner and in both cases the officers heard the description of an orange car with a 01 on the side and a flag on the top and laughed it off assuming it was a prank call. lol
Okay I’m reducing my 2012 rt, been sitting in my garage on a lift. Where do I get theses decals are they all custom or is that paint on the confederate flag
This is custom vinyl…visit a local vinyl shop and they can usually do it…I’ve built all sorts of nerd cars over the years, and most shops get excited about doing cool and weird stuff
I dont actually have a brand name for it, its very similar to the go rhino version but I think its bootleg lol. I got it off of ebay but the seller is no longer active there. Also I used to work for a place doing the installs on these, lights, cages etc for police cars....if you've never installed anything like that before Id HIGHLY suggest finding whatever company does your local police conversions and see if you could get them to install it professionally. A big part is pulling the nose of the car off and cutting the slots for the push bar in the grille and bumper cover and it can easily be messed up.
Nothing can beat the original, but this looks badass. Even got the flag on top as it should be, some people now days do one and have everything but the flag that's not a tribute that's a woke piece of shit.
