How about the history of the ancestors of slaves who built this country on their backs, and never received a dime to pass on to their ancestors. Black university graduates have less wealth on average than white high school dropouts. That should give everyone pause and serve as a wakeup call to the difficulties that black people face.
People from the south know that flag doesn't mean what people think it means. To us its the rebel flag. Its a symbol of rebellion against tyranny to me. So those against it can suck it!

It's the Battle Flag of the Army of Tennessee (a rectangular version; historically the rectangular versions were replaced by square versions to save on material), and it also matches up with several other Confederate flags, such as the The Second Confederate Navy Jack (which used a lighter blue color, like the flag on later General Lees did) and certain versions of the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. There was no flag that was specifically designed for General Robert E. Lee, nor for the car on The Dukes of Hazzard that they called "General Lee." The car's flag was just a rendition of Confederate flag designs that had already existed for over 100 years.

Love the show. God, I went away when I was young, just a stupid kid was I. Got out, came home, my Dad, (who I forgave and cared for the lat 20 years, well 18.5 years of his life)sold my 1973 340, 4-Speed, Barracuda. Granted, itwasn't a 1970 Hemi Cuda or 440-Six Pack, but it was MY CAR!!! As to the young woman losing her license for 2 years, try not being in a possition where you could afford the Points and Fines for nearly 30 years. You learn to respect the fact that there could be children on the road where one thinks it's okay to go 100 MPH. It isn't okay to do that anywhere but the track, just learn that before what happened to me happens to you. I'm no angel and I went to jail for DUI, nothing else, Learned the hard way, I just don't want anyone to have to learn the way I did. Wish you well. And it's Not the General without the flag.
Seeing another general lee properly done is a beautiful thing. The whole confederate flag thing has been twisted and blown out of proportion. Just like a million other things these days.

It's a recreation of a piece of history. People are far to sensitive and too many people are looking for any excuse to be offended. It's not like you're flying the damn thing on your flagpole at home or your business. I went to an air show that featured a few restored German aircraft fom WWII. The swastika appeared on the planes and I didn't hear any complaints. It was accepted that these planes were restored to be historically accurate and the pilots weren't actually NAZIS. Try winning a car show without the flag on a General Lee.

The dixie horn was never an option from Mopar in fact any car manufacture...It was a JC whitney product that the show makers tract down and bought of an El Camino that drove by the shoot.
Had a Rambler Rebel, SST. It was STP blue with a gigantic Rebel flag that covered the entire roof Along with confederate flag fender badges and stripe package. I wish I still had it now, but I would probably have to guard it from liberal attack.

Its definitely not the general lee without the flag but to be fair I have a model of the car with the American flag on it rather than the Confederate flag. I made that flag myself on the computer and put it on the model as a personal decision the show car isnt the same without it though
It's a Shame that we've lost the art of hand painted instead of a simple decal. Especially on The General Lee flying the flag of my proud South? Everyone is getting lazy! Oh the cost, that's the problem with our America? Lack of Respect for QUALITY!
Brush strokes and lines/edges that aren't perfectly straight look like crap, especially on a car. Just because you call it an "art" doesn't mean it looks good. Hand painting is for a canvas, or a house, or a fence. Using spray paint isn't all that great either, because there's no masking tape in the world that can give as clean/perfect edges as die- or plotter-cut vinyl has. For the TV show, they used spray paint for the flag's basic solid colors/shapes, white vinyl tape for the borders, and vinyl stickers for the stars. The "01" and "General Lee" text were vinyl stickers in all but the earliest Georgia episode General Lees (those were hand painted). The ultimate way of doing it would be to screen print the flag directly onto the roof of the car, using a high quality outdoor sign ink from e.g., Nazdar. You'd need a pretty big, and flexible, screen to do it though.

For one thing, engines don't get destroyed from the type of stunts they did with the General Lee on The Dukes of Hazzard, aside from perhaps some minor, easy-to-fix damage like a dented oil pan. For another thing, in 1979, no 1968 or 1969 Charger was particularly expensive, because they were just 10- or 11-year-old used cars, plus they were gas hogs in an era of drastically rising gas prices. The idea of muscle cars being collectible/valuable didn't really take off until the mid-to-late '80s. No 426 Hemi Chargers were used on the show because none of the '68 and '69 Chargers they bought happened to have one, and they had no reason to specifically seek one out. They were relatively rare to begin with, so the chances of them just stumbling across one when they weren't specifically looking for one were slim.

No, it isn't. The St. Andrews flag is just a saltire, i.e., a diagonal cross, i.e., an "X". The type of Confederate flag that was used on the General Lee has a saltire, but also has additional elements, obviously: 13 stars on top of the saltire, borders along the saltire, and a specific set of colors (blue saltire with white borders and white stars against a red field).
