if happens to me all the time when my piano teacher gvies me something and keeps pushing me to my limits and i keep pushing harder, so he plays it 1000 times better than me and it gets me even more excited because i want to reach what he can do and i know i won't stop till i reach it.
@@Trooman20 _Unfortunately, I didn't have a stable position at court. I was only paid so much, and me being me, I had to buy myself new attires and jackets, and on top of that, Constanze had to go to the spa to care for herself, and raising a child between that is also a very difficult thing to do. Screw the emperor and his notions anyways!_
For those who say he wasn't born deaf. Of course he wasn't born deaf, but he got to make the best composition in human history so far and the years to come, the 9th symphony when he was pretty much deaf. Do you know the level of music understanding one must have to be able to do that?Do you know the level one must have to make a symphony out his head by only creating notes without sound? Beethoven is, and will always be, the greatest music composer of all time. I could only think about Bach to come close to him in terms of music perfection and understanding of music and its rules. In fact, I consider Bach to be one most influential musicians of all times, whose "rules" are present in the music we listen now. But Beethoven was able to reach out and touch the heavens of music and composing when he created the greatest score of all time (I mentioned it above) The 9th Symphony.
he's a genius not only for how he composed his music, but how it makes your heart shake and feel his feelings, absolute scream of emotions,i'm addicted to this
@The Joker but moonlight sonata 3rd movement is more advanced and I've hit my friend with this one while he was playing fur elise I said "may i" and I played it my friend was in total shock he said teach me so I'm teaching him right now
@Liam Nicholson in my opinion Chopin's ballade 1 in G minor op. 23 is the greatest piece ever written and i don't feel the same way while listening any others. But this would not make him better than anyone. And you are right that everyone has their pleasure but calling him overrated is disrespectful. If someone love something that you dont you should respect that. Chopin has too many popular and great pieces just like Beethofen.
Beethoven was angry at her and he showed it through his playing. She understood this, which explains her reaction. When he starts playing she’s in awe by his talent but quickly realizes the music is about her. It’s around 1:35 when she starts to understand this. It’s obvious she’s able to understand feelings through music and you can see that through out his playing. She wants to interrupt and say something. It was really good acting on behalf of the actors.
The fact that this man lives many century agos ad his music still lives on and is still amongst the most powerful pieces on a piano in term of colors an emotions is just incredible.
That part is pretty easy though... Just practice arpeggios first, and then practice the ascending chords but without arpeggiating them, and then practice synchronizing the left hand with the right. Start slow and work up to speed, but not too slow. That's unnecessary I think.
descriptions such as hard or easy are relative. for liszt anything wouldve been easy e.g. what about a random person that's just started playing the piano? thanks for the advice anyhow
@@hannahquintua my version included Freya getting brutally murdered, Morgana and Merlin falling in love (so it hurts more when she slowly turns evil and dies) (also because I ship them for some reason....), A sequel where Merlin goes through both World Wars, the birth of Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Liszt, Chopin etc... The birth of Jazz and Rock.... And Merlin suffering because he's immortal and has to watch more of his loved ones die....
2:59 I like how he expresses his feelings throughout the piece. At this moment there is a feeling of rationality and perhaps some forgiveness when he plays. The girls picks up on this and looks like she wants to reach out to him and make up, maybe apologize and try to work out their relationship. But then he finishes the piece aggressively signaling that he won't forgive her and that it is over. Truly a fantastic scene.
I got the impression that as his letter noted that she was above his ‘class’, the counterpoint was just how much more nuanced and elegant and violent his music was, and he was enfolded in it while she was on the outside looking in.
She: "Obviously he is without rank or position, i mean what would my future be?" Beethoven: I am what i am and i owe myself for this. There are princes and there will be thousands of them but there´s only one Beethoven.
I did say that yes. Ironically, this commoner also became one of the wealthiest composers in history. Wish I could say the same for my colleagues Mozart or Bach. They were my idols.
So...I believe 1st mov. was before He met Her, feel so empty... 2nd mov. was when He met Her...so light, full of joy.. 3rd mov. was when He at last realized that they weren't meant to be together...confusing, angry, and ecstasy all rolled into one..yet so beautifully convey through his music.. This music is trully piece of miracle...
Actually i read, that he indeed composed the 1st movement for one girl, to teach her piano - slow , easy and wonderful. She got better by his teaching, so he evolved it to the 2nd movement... more challenging, but still playable. It was at that moment, when the woman told him , that she is in love with another man, who is a much ''better man'' than Beethoven. Beethoven than composed is 3rd movement - with a mindset of : ''Oh yeah ? Is he ? You will never meet a man, who can play this piece !''
The first movement is like a funeral march in its motif, this is Beethoven's burial of his love, his hearing, his former life. The second part as an image of his love - which, despite everything, remained for him a model of beauty and purity. The third part is an aversion to the hustle and bustle of life, which, despite everything, continues to move forward. With this part, Beethoven rejects suicide, which he often wrote about in his letters, especially with the aggravation of deafness.
@Daniel Johnson that ain't passion man. This is the type of feeling brought about by heartbreak . I think this was the best way he could tell her "you hurt me" through his music. Not like he was gonna write lyrics about it feel me? I'm pretty sure this piece was brought about pain by his beloved.
@@IRex-wm9pd I agree with insanity though. Most heartbreaks or intense feeling for one often drives one insane. Beethoven was lucky (or more so WE are lucky) that he had such talent to put all his emotions into music.
@Daniel Johnson if you meant raw passion like less so loving and more so resentment or hurtful. Then yes. But I really don't think this piece can be in the same realm as most pieces . This is piece is a primal scream .
2:16 "My hearing hasn't improved, in fact, I think it may be getting worse, and the lady I told you about, is *not of my class, so marriage is out of the question*
Her:”A deaf musician. Can you imagine that? What would our future be like?” Then she try’s playing weak sauce keys. Beethoven plays movement. Him:”So I realized she’s not my type. Besides my REAL love is music.”
von Ditters i read that it's because she didnt know the song was supposed to be that fast so shes realising its about her... but its because the movement sounds so angry
This is my favorite interpretation, which is funny because it has commentary on part of it, is on a forte piano, is shortened and performed by a little known pianist. And yet the ferocity it has makes me just love it. Superb
And this year are we celebrating that it's 250 years since Beethoven was born! A great composer in piano sonatas to symphonies and more..! I will always love his deeply and emotional work - that will give me strength in times of sorrow and melancholy.
Beethoven, to me, is an inspiring reminder that we are held prisoners by our senses. He does not need to hear, nor see, nor smell, nor taste, nor touch. He already experiences these joys through the heart. I believe that's why his music lives and not just "sounds." If we focus our attention on our heart, we will hear more, see more, and enjoy life at such a higher, deeper level. Then, we all will be able to write sonatas with our brother Beethoven.
Well many asian pianist will scream at you that the tempo is of here and that only technique counts .Classic has become only a sad replication of itself only few can even beginn tp match the fire of the creator himself Betthoven
Peter, technique, while an important elemental asset enabling competent "communication" of what one feels, is less vital than one's "feeling," itself. The "fire" you cite is forever captured in Beethoven's score, awaiting anyone who can allow themselves the freedom to go back in time to that stormy night when he suffered the pains of realizing his life would likely be without the love he yearned for. Watching those silvery clouds hide the moon only to have the moon explode each time between, like his heart fighting to never surrender to the dark of hopelessness. Feel that pain and this masterpiece will allow you to release it.
Dom, while I don't know what has gotten into you, I do say your biliousness works to scuttle what could be civil conversation. Technique is important but it is not the soul of music to which I am referring.
After hearing such an outstanding rendition from this magnificent pianist, my conclusion is: no woman could hold Beethoven's heart. For Beethoven's heart belonged to his one and ONLY true love...his music. Bravo Maestro Bravo!
The most amazing thing about Beethoven is that his career should have been over when his hearing started to go because at a the time most of a musician's income came from teaching and live performing, which one needed to hear and react to. It is a myth that composers made money by being privately, divinely inspired in their study.
i could imagine the fear he felt when finding out he was losing his hearing, i couldn’t imagine having to compose whilst being deaf not to mention people still not enjoying the music and his actual genius
this is an overwrought last movement to our ear but would be EXACTLY the way it would have sounded to some Beethoven contemporary --- ferocious, wild, brutal. really effective scene
Just try to imagine being there when he first performed this….all your life you’ve just been listening to Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, and then you hear this.
PS: That is a wonderful arrangement, starting with the "B" section on violin and delaying the "A" section until later on the piano. It gives more prominence to that wonderful, seductive, lyrical B melody. Where did you get that? Is it a common interpretation now? Just wonderful!
She rejects him underestimating him -> he responds proving his genius -> she feels reflected like an odious person and blame him for that (bravo...) -> she didn't pass the heart exam for him, goodbye
THis is a VERY good scene. I like how she really tries hard to follow him with a little amusement. Then she lost track and as he speeds up more and more she feels embarrassed. Maybe partly, because she doubted his genius and maybe of her own inability to being EVER able to reach his level. It seems like she tries to avoid the situation and want to escape, because it she is totally outclassed by him... as a "deaf musician, can you imagine that?!"
What is truly amazing is that he was deaf when he wrote symphony #6. It’s hard to imagine the delicate movements in that peace without being able to hear them. Mozart and Beethoven suffered greatly. Still, they’re music was heavenly. They were a gift to mankind from God.
Those artists lead very sad lives, exploted by their parents, travling all over Europe in the worst conditions, and Beethoven always had trouble getting work because people couldn't pay him! I think he would be blown away today if he knew how much we love his music and what a genius he was!
His mind is unfathomable The emotions , excitement , praise and admiration created by a great composer like Beethoven transcend the conflicts between nations , racial differences and the times
May god keep making people like Beethoven, a mastermind with absolutely fantastic passion in what he does, Beethoven will live on with his music forever , Beethoven is undeniably the best composer of all time.
I almost never understand classical music and just listen to some pieces sometimes I liked in the anime your lie in april. I have heard this song before but NEVER EVER in my life I felt the music so much that my heart started shaking and there were tears in my eyes and I could sense his emotions. I have never experienced this. WOW!
On the serious side, you don’t need perfect hearing to play piano well. At long as you have accurate rhythm, you’ll hit the keys right. It’s a tuned instrument. So you can’t do an out of tune bend or something.
The most famous movement of this 14th sonata is of course the first, but I can honestly say the 3rd movement is the most metal, hard core musical thing ever composed
Este video es una pequeñísima parte de la excelente miniserie de la BBC "El genio de Beethoven", a mi juicio la mejor biografía fílmica producida hasta hoy sobre este músico colosal.
Although it's a scene from a movie. However, the third movement of the Moonlight Sonata played by the alive Beethoven truly touches my heart. There is frustration with his love and endless anguish about music. He was a great musician, but at the same time he was a man of endless agony. So his music feels empathy for humans likes me.
For very old people of the past who were born during the times of the baroque (1720) this piece must have been an absolute shocker when it came out! xD
oh my gods - i have never heard that played so incredibly and beautifully. and the actor who IS Beethoven only adds to the emotional dynamic. he is perfect and simply gorgeous. i already feel so distraught that he’s going deaf. what an incredibly beautiful soul he had. thank you so very much. . . 🌷🎹🌷
This is one of the most astonishing music ever conceived and one of the pinnacles of the human being. It leaves me speechless every time I hear it, no matter how many times I did.
Imagine young musicians who've heard only the measured plinking of court music ... and then you hear THIS - tearing through and ravaging mercilessly your soul, tearing through centuries of sound with a storm of diamonds and liberating music to what was barely imaginable before it.
@@slimessiful Valentina isnt the pianist to listen to beethov, I dont want to seem haughty or smth, just an advice, i Heard Valentina at Prague in a concert, it's just.. Not the level she should have for an international pianist, I can advice you some one if you want.
What a talented Bethobeen, I understand now with reason why I love her songs. I started playing piano a long time ago because of him, why do I want to learn that song.
1:50 is me after realizing that my only mistake on the problem which i had spent 30 minutes trying to solve was to add the negative sign to the solution
For those that don’t know. He wrote the piece for her. She was his student. They were in love. When she rejected him he wrote the next movement as hers too however, deliberately made it incredibly difficult to play so that she would never be able to play her piece. It was revenge for rejecting him. That’s why the first movement is much easier to play and this pet near impossible to play.
