my brother is in this video, he was in the choir many years back. went down a rabbit hole tonight watching all the vids and it still astounds me to this day how amazing this choir is. thank you, mr. white.

...And i tell everyone to think that today a baby is born and to sing altogether Silent Night. Mid song everybody is crying. They are all thinking of a small thing but they are thinking about it together. For some minuted everybody forgets their differences and problems and the tears flow freely from their eyes. And that is the most sublime feeling ever...

Absolutely beautiful. Well done by a premier choir. Some listeners may not have noticed the reply from the choir about their age range . . . 8 to 18. Plenty of "boys" have fully developed adult voices by 17 or 18, a few by 15 or 16. Here two distinct groups sing their respective parts and do so very well. Kudos for all the hard work that led to this outstanding performance.

Incredibly beautiful!! The way it begins in the darkness then the candles light up as the whole congregation walks in.... reminds me of midnight mass in Mexico!. Kind of perfect and such an aid to prayer on this Holy day!

So I was raised in the Episcopalian religion and have been to a number of Episcopal Churches on Christmas Eve. Maybe this is true with other churches as well, I do not know. But at least in the Episcopal Church at the stroke of midnight all the lights are dimmed and candles are brought out and everyone at least then are all singing Silent Night together. Of course, given different time zones (i.e., midnight in Reno, NV is not the same midnight as New York), it is not all happening at the same moment. But at least within the same time zones it seems to be. At least in the Episcopal Church.
