Bluestar: AAAAAAAAAA Mosskit: Why are you running, WHY ARE YOU RUNNING

What if she’s just missing her mom and doesn’t understand that she is hurting Bluestar, and just wants to be with her, but from her perspective Blue is just running away from her... leaving her again.

“I Understand.” Is exactly what Mosskit said in Starclan in reply to Bluestar’s profuse apologies. No, “why did you do that,” or “how could you let me die.” “I understand.”

I believe this MAP has a deeper meaning. Basically, the deeper meaning is that Mosskit isn’t actually there; it’s just a darkness inside Bluestar. It’s her guilt for letting Mosskit die that is haunting her, not Mosskit herself. The ice also makes sense cause it’s how Mosskit died, and Bluestar fears that’s how she’s going to die too. That’s my theory about what this MAP is about at least. Also I loved coming back to this and watching it in October to get ready for the Halloween season.

I imagine moss kits point of view is she’s confused on why her mom is running away from her because she just wants to play she thinks it’s a funny game but to Bluestar it’s a scary dream and a bad nightmare

I don’t think Mosskit understands she’s hurting her mom, and that’s basically ruining whatever Bluestar was doing. Or maybe this is dark forest Mosskit, haunting Bluestar after she left Mosskit by the river. Either way, this was quite spine-chilling. It still haunts me even after a few years

The sad thing is that dreams come from or self consciousness so that means that Bluestar would have had to been thinking about Mosskit for her to even have a dream about them

I actually like this idea cause this might explain why she went mad. She cant tell anyone about her nightmares and all her nightmares spiral from her guilt. The guilt she feels for mosskit, the guilt she feels for snowfur, possibly the guilt she feels for swiftpaw and brightheart. Imagine ever night she wakes up in what seems to be the dark forest, swiftpaw and mosskit chase her down everynight because she knows their deaths were her fault, the guilt she feels for moonflower and snowfur knowing their deaths could have been prevented if it wasnt for her maybe they even glare at her in the dream because they know how many rules of the code shes broken despite being a leader, maybe she even has to watch oakfur and redtail die in her dream also blaming herself, feeling guilty she didnt know about tigerclaw sooner and feels terrible for praising him, she sees the pain goldenflower bramblekit and tawnykit have to go through because of who their father is, having to watch stonefur die, having to watch her kits grow up with a false mother and a lonely father. She has to see this, EVERY NIGHT. Seeing both parts of the future and the terrible present. It drives her completley insane.

The part wher she gathers up the skeleton for some reason makes me cry

The way Manchkin drew Mosskit is just... * Shudders * haunting, like, the blank, 1000 yard stare... Absolutely perfect for a Halloween MAP, like, dang, it defos helps that they chose to give Bluestar a shine in her eyes, but not Mosskit, truly enhances the horror effect of it, it sends chills down my time each time I look at Mosskit drawn like that. It's amazing! Plus, the animation in their part is so smooth and just... Muah! Chef's kiss! Like, dang. I mean, there's so much that's amazing, but Manchkin's part is 100% my fave. Everyone did an awesome job, blown out of the park! Just, practically yeeted it into space! All those folks should keep up the fantastic work!

You see in the middle where Tigerclaw attacks her? And at the end where she ‘drowns’ in the snow after falling off the cliff? I wonder if Mosskit was sent into Bluestar’s dram to warn her about this and was told not to touch a cat in their dreams, but all she wanted to do was say hi to her mom And when she said “are you scared?” Broke my heart🥺

This is AMAZINGLY animated, seeing Mosskit's little bones literally CHILLED me I'm shivering not even kidding-...

The way Mosskit just walked towards her is very haunting and scary. To me that's more scary than just being chased normally because you know whatever it is will always be coming. Like in the movie It Follows

I love how a some of the animators made Mosskit’s teeth more visible, like at 1:22, 2:13 and 2:47. It makes it a lot more scary, despite it being normal for kittens to have the usual sharp cat teeth. (It’s scary irl as well, since some people don’t expect such razor jaws from something so cute) I also like when they make Mosskit have pure deadness in her eyes, and how her first appearance was from behind a mossy rock. 🙂👍🏽✨

All I can get from this, is Mosskit is warning her. Tigerclaw jumps at her at one point in the dream, and when she widens her eyes at the end that’s when she would notice Tigerclaw towering over her. Which is a genuinely amazing idea. Mosskit is trying to wake her up so that Tigerclaw won’t get there on-time. He’s there to say, ‘get back up’, ‘it’s not safe’. ❤

i feel like mosskit was trying to be with her mother again, and she thinks they're playing some sort of tag; not realizing she's hurting her own mother because to her, bluestar is running away for a second time. she doesn't understand that bluestar is terrified of her, whereas bluestar knows dead cats cannot touch you in your dreams, so why could mosskit? why was she having this strange dream? edit: i should redo this probably LDBFHHA

To me this map is a reflection of bluestars guilt for mosskit’s death. she feels as though it is her fault so she dreams that mosskit has turned against her to avenge her death. but really it is Bluestar’s guilt is the enemy not mosskit. Mosskit is safe in StarClan waiting patiently for her mother who she knew so little of, to join her. This also explains how the lyrics say “I am you.” Because this nightmare-ish version of Mosskit is actually a dark guilt-filled part of Bluestar. I also think the fact that Mosskit grows older represents Bluestar’s fear of Mosskit growing up in StarClan without her. Ooooh so today when I was supposed to be paying attention in class I was coming up with a Mosskit au: After freezing to death on that fateful night, Mosskit becomes Mossfrost, an almost mindless ghost with ice powers who now haunts the woods of Thunderclan and by the river in Riverclan driven by fear. This ghostly figure is only seen during leafbare. All sightings report being out near the river or in the woods, then feeling a ghostly chill down their spine. All reports swear that they heard a small voice calling for their mother, but none of them were able to be completely sure. I’m thinking Fireheart is the one who finally solves the mystery of Mossfrost after learning about Bluestars speckled past or maybe the other way around, like he hears ghostly whispers of the child telling her story, and then with all the other pieces he’s gathered he puts it together. He then, with Bluestar, calms Mossfrost, turning her back into Mosskit. She goes to Starclan to wait for her mother to follow after her. I think it’s a cool idea and I did a design for it. It’s kind of similar to the Mosskit design in this video, but when Mossfrost walks, her feet more freeze to the ground, causing her to have to pull them off ever time, as apposed to in this video, she just leaves a track of ice. She is constantly crying, and as soon as the tears leave her face, they freeze, dropping to the ground as small, geometrical pieces of ice. Her tail, ears, and neck fluff are all covered in icicles. Her tail it frozen in place. Every time her ears move (which is not much) the icicles break off, to be quickly replaced by new ones. Sorry for the long comment, here’s a potato: 🥔

I remember watching this in 3rd grade in October at night, and being traumatized. The next day the song was stuck in my head lol- and I had Art camp with my friends, and the art camp was at someone’s house, and they lived in a very nice house, and in the forest, it had a garden, pool, and they even had a little cat and I think dog. And we went in the woods and almost got stung by bees, and we saw an abandoned hut, and I was so scared, but now looking back on it, I feel like wheezing in laughter-

ALL THE ARTISTS DID AMMMAAAAAZZZZZZIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGG! this is so smooth, and moos kit looks perfectly dream evil 👌 PERFECTION
